Spent a year getting a masters degree and met the love of my life a few months after that

As a man I had almost zero support from friends as I went through it. Those “friends” are now realizing that it wasn’t me that was the issue. Love this post, thank you for bringing it up. Holla at your homeboys.

You meet normal women in normal life. Just don’t be a hermit. I’m 45, went through the same thing. Focus on bettering yourself and get out and do things.

Life after divorce has been better for me. More free. Found a wonderful woman. It’s nothing to be afraid of.

I was in the same boat as you. Got divorced at 42 and enrolled in grad school. Spent a year and a half and got a Master’s degree. Best choice I could’ve made.

I took a year and a half and got a masters degree just to stay focused on bettering myself. Met the woman of my dreams shortly after. Give yourself some time to heal.

You’re not the first to go through it and won’t be the last. You’ll survive

I think it’s okay to put yourself first if you’re looking for a life partner. Your kids will grow up and you’ll be alone. I met an angel a year and a half after divorce and I’m a better father and person because I’m with her. My kids love her. Keep an open mind, you never know.

No that has nothing to do with it. She actually is supposed to be paying me child support. She is bitter and spiteful. She wants to control everything including my time with the kids.

My ex takes me to court every year and we’ve been divorced for 2.5 years. This is discouraging.

Thank you! This thread has definitely changed my direction and rightfully so. I think it’s human nature to want to keep lawyers out of it but she said if I wanted support we’d be seeing a judge so without saying anything I am preparing myself

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
