Being a dick out of confidence is attractive. It's saying "I'm better than everyone so I don't care what they think about me." Being a dick out of insecurity is unattractive. It's saying "I feel I don't measure up to others so I have to cut them down to build myself up." There's a big difference.

I like this. It would be interesting to see how The 48 Laws of Power break down along this spectrum. For example, right off the bat is a Beta law, "Never outshine the Master." Then a few Sigma laws before what I would consider the first real Alpha law, "Guard your reputation." A quick skim of all the laws makes it appear that there's quite a few that relate to the Sigma side of the spectrum.

Because Nice Guys tend to be very black and white in their thinking, the only alternative they can see to being nice is becoming "bastards" or "jerks." I frequently remind Nice Guys that the opposite of crazy is still crazy, so becoming a "jerk" isn't the answer. Robert Glover, "No More Mr. Nice Guy", p. 16

"Look at all the sex I give you!" is essentially a woman saying "The only value I bring to the relationship is my body." Sort of like 4chan's Tits or GTFO, a woman has to bring more than her vagina to the relationship in order for it to be worthwhile for the man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
