" No, dear, if a man opens doors for you he’s treating you like a simpleton " Still a very feminist article trying to slander men while also saying women are dumb for getting lured by the patriarchy.

I'm really on the fence about this one. On the surface outside of the "it’s not easy when you stand up and put yourself in contention for a role that’s only been sought by boys" comment it seems pretty clean and just there to promote women. We know Shillary doesn't care about men whatsoever though and with that line slipped in about "sought by boys" I find the motives and intentions of her letter highly questionable.

This article doesn't indicate whether these allegations are false or not, just that she made them. It's in very poor taste that for appearance purposes she released the joint statement that the marriage was loving and passionate then comes out that he's abusive. Something there is a lie and she hasn't substantiated the claims of abuse (at least I didn't see any evidence in the article). Claiming that it's the patriarchy that's blocking you after making such a stupid statement is, in itself, just…

While their comments really stunned me, I do have to admit if that's word for word then he shouldn't be surprised by such an uproar against him. 1) He knows that these people have a crazy hivemind to take people down. 2) They will never find themselves facing false accusations because they're women. They can't comprehend that thought. 3) The idea that people actually look at evidence before attacking throws a wrench in the plans of some of these women.

Surely he was asking for it. It's not up to the woman to restrain herself it's about the man making proper choices to protect himself and alcohol involved to boot. He was definitely asking for it. Completely his own fault. I can't tell is this is just a joke because women decide to always be victim despite doing nothing to protect themselves sometimes or if they actually believe in this.

“I have a deeper appreciation about what it means to be falsely accused, and I also have a deeper appreciation of what it’s like to be on administrative leave,” the police chief said. “And I think it will make me a better chief and a better human.” The sad part is really that he should already be aware of these things. It shouldn't only come as a revelation to him afterwards. And he got off lucky that he worked in an environment that did not immediately fire him because of the allegations, and t…

This is a really dumb comment to make. I don't mean to read into it too much and I'm really not the one that cares in the end but these are some of the messages people might get from a comment like that: Men don't care about women. We do care, I would assume most of us would rather live cooperatively than always at each other's throats. The message the article should send is that saving someone shouldn't come at the cost of your own life and that's what the current societal paradigm has left us …

I can't tell to what degree is just signalling for investors / women to promote the company, or how deep the misandrist ideology actually runs, but working in a very large firm (think one of the biggest in North America) and having some VPs state "the next CEO will be a woman" is extremely demotivating and confusing. It can't make good business sense to state that years ahead of time (it's been two years since I heard the statement with no change in CEO) and right off the bat you lose out on 50%…

I used this argument with one of my friends and it's kind of silly how they always manage to rationalize this fear. I mentioned that men are killed more often and that there are plenty of far more common dangers that anyone can face besides rape. It seems that the prevailing reason is that most women have seen some kind of mild "harassment" (maybe being asked out in a weird way by someone a bit off since that counts as "assault" these days). This leads them to believe that violent sexual infring…

Agreed. The kind going around are doing it because they're psychopaths not because it's a privilege (which you could say the same of other men and women that are actively committing crimes, however they can be punished for the latter). I've seen a lot of support for the idea of men's rights (from women at the office) that women going around making any claim they want is just not okay. But I've also seen the flip that says it's okay to come out 30 years later with no proof outside of he-said she-…

The point I was making was that they don't see feminism as a toxic movement when many branches of it are quite toxic and misandrist but go on to setup these entire sections of men's rights as misogynistic when I do not believe these to be the goals.

I work in the financial sector and all the companies putting out women promoting policies is pretty annoying to say the least. My company put out a company wide memo saying how we need to treat women with respect. They give out women only scholarship, mentoring, funding. That same day I heard women telling one of my male colleagues how all men are deficient. They used a study that male entrepreneurs make more money as the basis to say we need to give women more advantages. What they didn't reall…

I thought that was the whole point of insurance companies and insurance in general. The cost of one bad accident can outweigh what one person will pay in their lifetime. This cost is distributed amongst all insurance holders including those that will never be in an accident in their life. It makes sense that costs are distributed for fairness. Lots of other examples of policies in North America that show distributed costs for everyone (healthcare in Canada, which I could be mistaken but I believ…

This thread from the top 3: https://np.reddit.com/r/MensLib/comments/93oyty/menslibs_official_position_on_the_mens_rights/ They're claiming that MGTOW is a disgusting and vile misogynistic movement. I honestly have never been on that sub, but I understood that the basic premise was that there's little to no value in a man fostering romantic relationships (divorce being negative for men, rape accusations 30 years later, a lot of money / time spent on that) and focus on just being good individuals…

In the article posted they actually refer to this other opinion piece about how this reform is disgusting: https://www.cnn.com/2012/03/09/opinion/murphy-alimony-overhaul-con/index.html In this other piece there's a goldmine of entitlement, exactly what was being targeted in the first place: The law dramatically changes the way judges grant alimony for nonworking ex-spouses. Reply I definitely identify with this. You can see the effect of feminism on this objectification of men vs women. The new Jack Ryan being peddled on Amazon Video shows us a big manly office worker (John Krasinski) falling in love with a somewhat plain looking woman at first sight. It just felt blatant that they're pushing the stereotype that men need to be giant hunks of muscle while a woman can be whatever. The sad part is this accurately reflects what generally happens. Honestly I think it's just the assumption / idea being put out that it was the man's fault and not theirs or that men can't be abused in relationships either. However, it does go on to say: She now helps others to marry themselves in symbolic ceremonies and has performed more than 100 self-marriages for men and women, including Doktar. So she's not opposed to men doing it either so I'm not convinced there's any bias here or in the article. The only thing slightly biased is: Many of the women I w…

Isn't this in the same country where they're removing prison sentences for women because they are perfect angels? They're... all blaming toxic masculinity for issues like men not talking about their own issues when feminists are the ones holding protests against mens rights groups. I didn't say it was discrimination in my comment anywhere. I would say it's not that this practice is discriminatory but that the practices are inconsistent and usually against men. If we want to talk about pricing for gender. Kudos to you for actually going the distance. There are online insurance quotes and it's sad that even a woman with speeding tickets or a collision will have lower insurance rates than a man of the same age with no tickets or collision.

It does. But for example, a man might always get the maximum and a woman the minimum + leeway (they're given other punishment). Not to mention a big part of it is that even the accusation can ruin a mans entire life, even if it's proven later it was false.

Yea. I meant that overall the implications in the article are that factors are normalized. As we see in the article from the economist, when we normalize job, company and position level we see almost no difference. In fact the difference is almost completely attributed to the top level of employees (on a scale of 16 levels) whereas there's essentially no difference among other levels.

I hope this includes men paying ridiculously more on their car insurance. Here are 4 quotes for car insurance in my area: https://imgur.com/a/MaBdR Comparing same age males and females, all the information is the same for the 4 quotes except age and gender. Singles like Andrea, a 35-year-old marketing coordinator and foodie call enthusiast, says her targets understand the deal. I don't know any man that that wants a woman to take their time and money without any outcome in a malicious manner. There are trophy wives but that usually comes with other things for the man, like sex. “Women make 75 cents to a man’s dollar, and until the wage gap stabilizes, it’s more than fair game for guys to pay.” Then you have to go try to rationalize this predatory a…

That's a really long article and the more I read the more I was disgusted. When you're recently divorced, the agony of your children's first holiday without you is overwhelming. This might sound over-the-top, but it really is like losing a limb. And it's fine that you've taken the kids away from the father for the majority of the time? Almost. You forgot to involve that this is a form of fighting back against the toxic masculinity. The sex that they had throughout the relationship retroactively became rape because she withdrew all consent. Therefore, she was assaulted and is using her female right as a victim to fight back against toxic masculinity and the patriarchy.

I have to question what counts as inappropriate touching. We know from recent news that a man touching the knee of a woman can be considered rape. Does a man commit rape if his bag brushes your butt in a packed subway car? I don't doubt that actual groping exists but we also have to be considerate that men need to take the trains too.

There have been other articles that discuss many similar things. One in particular is from the Harvard Business Review where they quote women saying they don't want to take on extra work: Amy, a midlevel sales manager for the same firm, struggles with a similar problem: “My mentor’s idea of a development plan is how many external and internal meetings I can get exposure to, what presentations I can go to and deliver, and what meetings I can travel to,” she says. “I just hate these things that ad…

It's tough because women are making such a big deal about little things right now and if men start saying "but there's nothing wrong with a bit of touching" they just think we're trying to oppress by pushing for laws / regulations / social acceptance of rape. If we show that women are falling under their own definition of rape and they're getting punished for it then it forces women to re-examine if that's actually rape. Then it's a matter of combating their go-to arguments of "women are pure an…

As someone who kind of identified with the group but was also shunned from it I have an opinion on the matter. Is it true? Yes. You have one group that is traditionally the requestor and one that is requested. Men always make the advance. Men are expected to provide for women. Men are expected to treat women. On Valentine's day the radio stations talk about how men can treat their dates "properly". When I went out with a girl on valentines once we agreed to split the bill (first date). The resta…

Well stated. Men are also expected to compete for a mate. Men are expected by women to be better than all other men and not need support. Because men are not free and are expected to provide for many women (through divorce child support / alimony) and frankly women won't even look at a man that isn't earning more than them. Meanwhile women are free to study what they want because they will always be supported financially and mentall.

We all know that feminists are against the idea of robots because it takes away their power. If suddenly the average man was satisfied and felt far less need to seek out picky, greedy, superficial, entitled women then you don't have a war being waged for a single female. They'll actually have to realize that outside of their looks and sex appeal, a lot of them have absolutely nothing.

Jesus christ. If she's able to live off of 33k month (seriously if she can't survive off that I question her intelligence) she had to go back and fight for 17k more per month? Like seriously? She's getting more than the average wage per month for free and she needs more. This greed has no end.

unless the kid grows up to be hawt which is the single most important thing anyone could grow up to be You're absolutely right that most of these women are incredibly greedy given an insane amount of choice. Since men have to fight over them they can actually be picky and choose what's the most pleasurable / appealing to them. Having someone attend to your every need and not show any dissatisfaction (e.g crying about anything) is much better than actually having to put in effort.

In my workplace there was actually an internal memo saying that women need to be pushed and promoted more and should not expect to have to change their way of interacting with others in the workplace. I would say yes. Stigma against men showing weakness. "Man up" is a phrase you've probably heard throughout your life and suggests that a man keeps pain to himself and pushes forward. There are a few issues here. The first is that the man is instantly identified publicly as soon as an allegation is made which can cripple a career / life. You can view them in various ways and it might be better to categorize the types and handle them differently: 1) Those that are just in it for personal gain. They want women to have it easier so they have it easier. 2) Their perception is so warped and they actually see men as evil. 3) They're equalists and actually consider issues from both genders. 4) It's a fad, they're along for the ride to fit in with friends. I'd say these are the biggest categorizations of feminism? With #4, you can start…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_leave#Variation_in_international_law If you want to sift through the discrepancies in male vs female parental leave. Just keep in mind that while this is the minimum set by law, companies can have their own policies. I work in an org with 1 year maternity leave but 6 weeks for men.

Incels - believe they're removed unwillingly from the mating dance. MGTOW - believe it not to be worth the hassle (could be wrong, don't go here really). MensRights - Want equality in laws / treatment and focus on discrepancies where men have it worse. IMO none of these are women hating at a basis. Though the topics at hand can generate woman hating thoughts. Maybe instead of femsplaining she should open her eyes to the actual content and discussions happening.

Oh I know. For the most part, they control about all the power in dating and pick and choose men based on 100 different criteria. They will string along 5+ guys at a time, taking advantage of free meals and events before choosing "the best". Make one remark about her weight? Shit hits the fan.

I feel like she's treating people that commit suicide as terrorists. I hope as a feminist she's happy and realizes that her movement is a huge part of why this is the case among men.

Probably because women work less and spend more time watching TV than men. http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/insights/news/2011/american-video-habits-by-age-gender-and-ethnicity.html So of course appealing to women can improve ratings. Misandry is rampant. Men care far less if a show has 2 women, 2 men or mixed. But women will throw a fit if a man is there.

If you care* I know a lot that like the attention and they have no problems showing off. At least they don't go complaining about it. I don't get how you want to show off and get attention but then complain that you're getting attention.

Not surprised. I'm already suicidal while I have a job, nevermind losing it to unsubstantiated claims.

which conveniently requires neither reprehensible individual conduct nor hostile personal attitudes in order to impose culpability. I made a comment on a Gizmodo article on Facebook once. I had women attacking me and saying as a male I should shut up and say nothing. I think they actually believe that men are inherently toxic and that they need to attack us to do god knows what.

So if I'm reading this right, starting at the age of 35, women hold 80% or more of the part time jobs in their age group until retirement age (65)? I don't think they want this to change. Get paid more, work less. "Now I make as much as a man doing the same job" but also put in 1/10th the work. I remember reading an article about how male managers need to do more to support female employees with sponsorships and such. Meanwhile, the females complained because going to cocktails 4/5 times a week …

It's so sad that they make out men to all be sexists, rapists and in the end, the women choose their partners. When they all choose the modelesque douche that treats them like shit, it's the rest of us that pay with these misandrists claiming 100% of men are assholes. They just need to drop the BS premise that they're not extremely superficial and ignoring 99% of men for not conforming to the extremely high standards set for men, the same type of standards that they claim only applies to women a…

To be fair I peruse it occasionally and always see top level comments being scientific. Usually someone in the field adding on or making a comment about the article itself. It is in the rules that it's supposed to be scientific.

Fun story. I work in a financial institution and university degree is supposed to be the minimum to work there. Soon after I started my boss introduced this very attractive woman as a new hire. I'm tasked with helping her out. Obviously we chat. Found out she had just completed high school. Maybe she's a good worker I told myself. 6 months and I definitely don't believe that.

cough black pill cough I've seen some of those experiments and I see it in my female friends and colleagues. The only thing that matters is that the guy is hot. You can probably have a model with just the description "I'm a rapist" and still get matches. I'd wager half the matches wouldn't even read it because again, it's all in the hotness. I feel like this just leads to exaggeration of the numbers. If there are 100 guys and 100 girls but the girls only swipe the top 5 guys then immediately the…
