This is incredibly insightful. I actually had to stop reading because I'm weeping for all that I wish I'd known before getting involved with exactly what you've described. The first few points are exactly what happened with my ex. Now I'm a broken single mother trying to make sense of my life.

And oversensitive. I just got told yesterday that I "overthink" things. Like yeah bitch, sorry I don't take your shit at face value. Also "Why do you bring things up that happened in the past?". Erm because it's supporting evidence of patterns of behaviour mofo.

Honestly I'm very anti-monarchy, but I really respect the way he stands up for her, even more so since they had a baby. He gets shit from the media for defending her right to privacy. The statement he released when they first started dating, and the fact that he's suing tabloids for invasion of privacy, refused to allow press intrusion into the baby's birth and christening, spending time with her family at Christmas instead of going with the other royals. They get a lot of shit for not following…

I did. Like take one thing and run with it? Don't think she liked orange thaaat much haha. Plus it's only his account of how much it "blew her mind". I reckon she was just like "oh... everything's orange....thanks?"

Ugh I always get this too! It makes me feel like I'm not "womaning" properly and is uncomfortable. The absolute worst is when you offer a handshake and they kiss your hand like you're in the 16th century 🤢

God this post and everyone's comments are spot on, so true I want to weep for all the time and energy I've wasted in my life. Never again, no matter what. I'll make sure my daughter knows this stuff too. Thank you all so much.

How did you do that? I need to do this too, just have no idea how to start.

I feel you sis. I'm lonely, depressed AF, a single mum, angry at being duped by someone I believed was HV and having to interact with still. I don't think I'll ever be able to even try another relationship. I have needs, physical and emotional, but I can't even begin to try to get them fulfilled. Feel like a complete failure at life.

Ikr, this pissed me off too. Especially the nervously telling him that she likes him and downplaying that with the "lmao". Ugh, I'm both annoyed and feel sorry for her.

This is great advice. I wish I'd known any of this 10/15 years ago. But now at least I can save it for my daughter for when she's older.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
