I don't think your problem is finding a guy - it's finding a competent therapist. Any therapist who calls you 'lazy' isn't doing their job right. Now, you could have interpreted what she said as that. Patients need to take control over their own therapy, there comes a point where they just complain about things all day and refuse to take action, and the therapist may have been trying to be a driving force in that.

As I said before that has to do with the support network and the means of suicide than anything else. Hell, look at the example. People who post on suicide watch, mostly men, are really just 'looking for attention' - or to be more particular, they're reaching out and hoping to find a social support network through reddit whereas women tend to use family and friends for their emotional support network.

I've found the best way to prevent someone from suicide is to blame the victim. Try making them feel even more like shit than they already feel by calling them worthless for even thinking of suicide. THAT will help. Hopefully you haven't worked in a mental health facility.

Same applies to men. If most of the people in suicide watch were very serious about it, they wouldn't make the post. Suicide threats should be taken seriously, but a lot of times the person is feeling isolated and depressed and just needs some social support.
