Way back when I was a social retard (not actually that long ago) I was really Interested in the seduction community, in fact it was the only way i thought that I would ever get a girl to have sex with me.

Then things changed, I got my first girlfriend and really started to examine the seduction community. I'd love for one of you to disagree so we could have a discussion about this, but I find the whole community shallow and generally self destructive.

From my experiences, men become interested in this community from a perceived lack of social skills, especially relating to women. Many of these men truly do have poor social skills. Having not had some of the same experiences others have had, they might fall in love with a girl who's not even a good fit - this is wrong.

However, the PUA community seems to push wrong ideas too. While not explicitly, I believe you would be taught one important lesson (gaining confidence) with many bad ones (women are stupid and disposable, dating is a game like risk that can be won, having sex is the ultimate goal). Women who do not listen to your shallow attempts to pick them up are immediately ignored or ridiculed. This leaves you with a pool of perhaps attractive, however otherwise likely unsatisfying women. It could also lead to misogyny in that the women you unintentionally surround yourself with are of rather low class, so you see all women that way, in turn you act in such a way to pick up all women and it turns into a self fulfilling prophesy.

There's room for relationships, real ones, outside of the community and deceiving women (almost as if you were anti-social) isn't the best way to go about it. Sure, you will pick up a certain type of woman with these techniques but it won't necessarily work for who you might be looking for. I can't imagine good relationships will come out of this either.

So, what are your thoughts?
