And regarding her income, or lack of it by choice, is it the courts who will potentially have her stipulated at minimum wage? Or the mediator? How would I request that during mediation?

Yes we still live together unfortunately. I didn’t know that about alimony or “spousal support”! I thought that was how a judge would calculate it. So you’re saying I can calculate what I will pay her based on those aspects of finance you mentioned?

I’ve spoken with an attorney and she recommended a mediator it now I’m thinking they’re just trying to make each other money rather than help my situation
