First thing I thought... calling her decent implies that the majority of black women are not worth the time. Again it's a good video, but it's these kind of titles that worry me about trying to introduce people to Men's Rights. I love the movement, I'm very active within the movement in my own life, and I think everyone here for the most part has great intentions but... We have to be careful. Because we are constantly gunned down from every angle, we can't afford to give them extra ammo.

I'm down. I think you should do it. Why not, right? I'd subscribe. At least make the community an option. If it ends up being only Mens Rights subscribers... that would be telling of people's opinions. But it could turn out to be a great platform for debate (although extremely unlikely).

Yea, but I figure no one gets hurt if we keep giving it a go. Makes us look good. But you're right. As far as my experiences have shown, MRAs can and will welcome (sometimes... this sub can get a little hostile) differing opinions and debate. The same cannot be said about feminists when you try to bring Men's Rights to the table. But nothing wrong with trying to get a sub like this up and running.

I have to disagree. Her last paragraph mentioned that a women's movement was once essential (i.e. when women wanted to vote, etc.), but is not needed anymore. It's a great piece, and a great introduction to the MRM.

There is a difference between these things that you fail to grasp; Writing on friends is generally viewed as a dick move, but funny and okay in the right scenario. A moustache on the lip, a penis on the forehead, whatever. Not sexual assault, not lasting damage. I would thoroughly disagree. Putting this on her family is a horrendous and thoughtless thing to do. Looks great! I like the colour scheme and it's easy to read. I'd just change the prison-sentence bar-graph to standardized data (i.e. variation in sentence for the same crime). Otherwise you're at fault of twisting the data to make your point (much like some of those feminist infographics do... and we're better than that). Other data is awesome.

True. And I agree with you. The spread of misinformation and propagation of fear by feminists is terrible. But my point is that instead of trying to tear down their arguments (which just leads to further arguments and no progress), when you're trying to talk to someone who is already skeptical of Men's Rights (as the title suggests) you should probably just keep it to problems that affect men and leave women out of it. I wish they didn't compare the numbers to female numbers when they don't need to. I feel like these kind of articles would be far more compelling if they just presented the problems that men have. I feel like it would go over better when showing my feminist friends because it would be more like: "Look, we have problems too that need focusing on" instead of "Look, we have it even worse than you!" because then you start losing your audience before you even get any good arguments out.

If she came right out and said "Undeniably, men suffer more than women", 98% of the readers of the Guardian would stop right there. She made a concession to get her message out. I often talk about it with my girlfriend, who agrees with me in almost all respects, but tries super hard to debunk my points (so that I get better at defending them with people I don't know as well). She's awesome. And she likes to debate. Weirdly enough it's usually pillow talk haha.

Perhaps a troll, but totally correct. We can't have a double standard if we want to be taken seriously. He's 100% right. People get crazy up-in-arms when someone implies that sexual contact between an older woman (i.e. 20) and a young boy (i.e. 12) is ANYTHING other than total unequivocal sexual abuse.
