The purpose of marriage is to have a mutually beneficial, satisfying relationship. Not to be Captain Save-A-Ho. Rule 1 is be attractive. Rule 2 is that you aren't responsible for her feelings.

Principle rule of all relationships: he who needs the other the least has the power. Sounds to me like you're still in a weaker position needing the job more than he needs you. That's why you feel dread, your boss has viable options (Bob) and you don't (4 hr commute). Time to create a MAP to change that. Edit: Missed words in my haste

You need to have just the right amount of not giving a fuck. Don't be an autistic retard, but at the same time you shouldn't be catering to your wife's every whim, emotion, or fancy. You are your own judge, so determine whether what your wife is saying or worked up about is a legitimate issue. From the linked comment: So when I say, "don't be an idiot," I literally mean, "don't be an unintelligent, slow-witted moronic dipshit like this guy." You shouldn't operate within your wife's frame, but th…

I know I’m probably way into her frame by thinking this but I’m trying to analyze her psychology Yes, you are in her frame. And don't. Any thoughts? I’m not hung up about it just trying to see her behavior through RP perspective You are hung up on it. You initiated and had sex. Good. Just don't go saying "thank you" like somebody else recently posted they used to do. Stay out of your wife's head. Improve yourself. If you have the time to think about this kind of shit then you need to work on Dre…

I want to give my wife some tools to ward it off, but she'd rather just complain about it. Of course she does. It's not about the nail. Deep inside she's probably reveling in the emotional drama. It gives her an excuse to display and release emotion.

If you're her top shelf alpha then why are you being tested at all? What? She's still going to shit test. Shit tests never end. They might come less frequently, but even if you're the top dog of all the males she knows, then she's going to still shit test against her thoughts of "what could be" if it weren't for being with you. Sometimes she might shit test to verify congruency. Or just to "make sure" you haven't faggotized.

I would recommend Married Man's Sex Life Primer. It will explain why his wife isn't attracted to him, it will explain how he can become attractive again, and it will explain what he needs to do to change himself. NMMNG is awesome, don't get me wrong, but it's strictly focused on removing covert contracts and putting yourself first. OP is in dire straits, and needs to get his compass calibrated and pointing in the right direction.

I can't think of a more apt metaphor for being in the woman's frame than white knighting into hell and back for her. ... Maybe I'm kidding myself too but this is about rule zero within my frame for me. A happy side effect from Dread and Game while I execute the "go" plan. But text flattens ideas and maybe I'm misreading you. Yeah, I get what you're saying. I think for me it's less about white knighting and more about owning my shit. If I'm the leader during a time of crisis, then I'll do everyth…

If your wife is depressed, it’s all your fucking fault. You’re not being the man that you need to be. Yet, you continue to live with your depressed wife because…. Well, why do you? Because you innately know that you’ve at least contributed to her depression and know the “fixer” inside of you must fix this. Men are great at fixing shit. Especially when we’ve broken it ourselves. Here’s a wakeup call for you dude: you didn’t contribute to her depression – you set the stage for it and all she did w…

I don't have kids either but I've grown up in toxic homes. My parents divorced when I was 5 and since then I had 3 different men live at home with us. ... Because of this I've vowed to never allow my kids to grow up in a toxic home. To me, a toxic home is worse than visiting dad on weekends. There's a catch 22 here, Donnie-boy, as you would've never had the 3 different men in toxic relationships with your mom if she would've stayed with your dad. So the question is whether /u/YungNblessed can an…

If I miss a single day of 3300 calories I will not gain that week. I literally cannot stuff my face with more food right now it's sickening. Maybe that's true, but sounds like your own rationalization hamster squeaking. Are you tracking your calories? If you are, then I'm actually a bit jealous. To add on to what /u/resolutions316 said, boundaries are the important things to you that you can defend. If you can't defend the boundary, you don't have it. If you bitch but don't defend the boundary, you don't have a boundary. Two of my favorite blurbs from that post: My wife used to make a false accusation that used to really get to me. "Something different is going to have to be done or this is going to be something that will cause us to separate. Is this sport really worth it." You need to control the narrative here. Move this question into your frame: "Sweetheart, I understand you're concerned at the cost of the training, but being able to protect my wife and son in a physical altercation is important to me, and it's my duty as the protector of the household." It's an inconvenient hobby at times but something that I have don…

When we go out on a well planned date (ie. babysitter, dinner, TopGolf or theater) she wears a lacy thong, gets very handsy in the parking lot, and generally we end up fucking to my satisfaction. Outside of that (a serious date), however, things fall off dramatically. We have sex twice a month-ish. Once a month she'll be into it, and once a month it's "a quickie" (pity sex). I know that we can be more. She had sex often in high school (years before we met), and I get a glimpse of that inner slut…

Anyway today I will be going out after work to play hockey (play in a weekly league) and have no idea what I will do when I come home. Totally ignore? Pretend all is good and try to see if she wants to have sex? I sense that you're going to hit the anger phase fast and go Rambo. Look, the reason your wife treats you like that is because you have conditioned her to do that. This is your fault. She's just a woman, so don't be mad at her for doing woman things. Think of this process like losing wei…

Two of my favorite takeaways from Extreme Ownership: There are no bad teams (wives and kids), only bad leaders (us). The MRP verbiage would be that the wife is a reflection of her husband. The leader sets the standard and holds the line. What and how discipline is enacted should be well established by us.

You say this: All I can do is accept I was lazy, weak and pathetic. So I’m pissed at myself and the world. And then go on to say: Why does my wife get to experience and benefit from all my hard work? I may feel this way because I’m in her frame and not my own and I may be doing all this ‘for her’, I’ve never done anything ‘for me’ without a lot of guilt, so I’m learning how to do things for me. These feelings may be my way of rejecting improving myself ‘for her’. She doesn’t deserve the new me, …

1) She never initiates or tells me she wants to fuck me. She did that day. Who gives a shit? It's your job to initiate, and you shouldn't care one way or the other whether or when she does. From MMSLP: If you’re a husband, you just need to get over this and understand that it’s basically your job to initiate sex. She isn’t really making a statement of dislike about you by not asking for sex, anymore than the TV does by not turning itself on and asking if you want to watch it. You have to get up …

With the kids, I'm finding discipline easier. My 5-year old has extreme meltdown tantrums, but I remain calm but firm. No more yelling at them, no more 'scary' dad. I'm not affected by her or get angry. I find many parallels to how I need to act with my wife with her. This is huge and has been one of the greatest improvements I've made in my relationships across the board, not just with my wife and kids. Yelling and screaming is a tangible sign of poor leadership, loss of frame, and panic. Plus,…

I don't know why you autists are so keen on not leveraging vulnerability as a resource/tool. As with most things in life, there's a dichotomy at play. If OP had a track record of being a leader and shit-hot mission-driven man, then I could see an argument for Law 12: Use selective honesty and generosity to disarm your victim. On the other hand, if OP is a classic drunk captain or former beta, then she's probably still concerned on his leadership capabilities. From OPs OYS #2: The changes I've ma…

I am all warmed up and ready to fuck when she says "I'm not even horny..." I said "OK" and got up to get dressed. She cried. I decided to opened up and let some of my guard down (become vulnerable). I told her what my stresses are, my concerns, things that have been on my mind and worrying me. Things I hadn’t even thought about myself, but I let those feelings rise up and explained everything I could (within reason, I didn’t dump everything on her). I didn’t cry like some bitch boy or tell her that everything is so hard, poor me. Opening up changed her demeanor entirely. I had an engaged wife again, eye contact, touch…

I have my shit together at the moment but my wife can't stop bringing up the past. The way I am right now doesn't mean shit if she gets anxious or angry with herself because she will have to hamster a reason as to why she is the way she is and its usually my fault. The Way of the Superior Man goes into what you're calling the macro vs. micro. He elaborates on how the feminine will judge the masculine on its behavior and integrity right now and not from the track record of behavior and integrity. Regardless of how awesome you were in the past, you will be judged as you are and make her feel in this moment. As you said, this might be unsettling for a man, however there is a significant advantage here as well. If you've been fucking up for years, then it does…

I'd flip back the covers, stare long and hard at the rice. Then I'd turn to her: "You know what? I was thinking about eating something in the bed, too." Then I'd pull down her pants and get to it. Acta Non Verba. Take your emotions out on her pussy, she doesn't want to hear you scolding her like a whiny bitch. When you're attractive enough she'll do what you want without you having to ask her to, until then, STFU.

That's a passive aggressive approach to the counseling. You might actually gain some attraction with her if you were just a man about it. Maybe you don't have a high enough SMV, and maybe she is much more willing to walk at this point. So this is just me (you do you), I'd say the following. Keep in mind she WILL take this as you attempting to wrest more relationship control from her hands, so you better be able to find your balls and weather the storm: "I won't be attending any further marriage …

Let her worry about keeping the relationship together, just do what you want and if she's unsatisfied with the relationship then she needs to fix it. You're perfectly capable and willing to find a new relationship, if need be.

My wife meets nearly all of that criteria. It's choosing well, not finding unicorns.

Yes. Do it because that's who you want to be, not for her.

Could you protect her in the event of a break-in? Does her father have more masculine hobbies than you? The last is just a fact, she can't imagine you're the manly type to ride a motorcycle. Sounds to me like she's shit-testing you and you either fail or she's just flat out right. Become the type of guy that could protect her in a break-in and get more masculine hobbies if you want to, otherwise just DGAF.

It’s your life, bro. I’d recommend looking into listening to the Jocko Podcast or doing some other self improvement to help you grow into a stronger man. There’s literally no downside to improving. Good luck either way!

Why in the world do you not want to be confident or a leader. I can understand wanting to but not knowing how to even start, but why limit yourself to being an unsure of yourself follower?

I am surprised she began wearing you down in just a year if you were that "alpha". I probably phrased this poorly, but it was about our tenth year of marriage, and about fifteenth year together overall. There were a lot of reasons why I became more beta for that year, but doesn't really matter, at the end of the day it was all my fault and I had to get my shit together.

What is oneitis dread? She's forever commenting about women checking me out and is very concerned about other women around me! I tell her I know other women want to fuck me but I isn't my concern right now! ONEitis = the theory that there is only one correct person for everyone. Dread = fear based on jealousy, insecurity in her status That's exactly it. She's seeing your options are opening and you have the potential to leave her and date other women. She's no longer on the pedestal you initiall…

Good: "your such a head fuck" She can't get a grasp on you, which keeps her guessing. (good) "I never know where I am with you" She's starting to feel like you're losing ONEitis. "You need to listen to my feelings" Could be a comfort test. Are you reassuring her that you care about her? "Why can't I figure you out" Same as first. "I need to know where I stand with you" More ONEitis dread. Bad: "Your bipolar" STFU and DNGAF "You need anger management" STFU and DNGAF. Fix your frame. "Your too ser…

Removing ONEitis was the biggest. Many of the assertive communication tactics, e.g. fogging, negative assertions/inquiry. I’d migrated to have a bit too much beta during one year of my marriage, but the ship was straightened out thanks to MRP. I don’t participate there, but implemented tactics, read, owned my shit, and fixed my problems. Not that I’m ever done, but my leadership continues to improve. Edit: Also learning that what women say they want and what they really want are different. Watch…

I’m alpha and introverted. I’m confident, educated, charming, lifted for over half my life, no trouble approaching women, etc. Was that way long before swallowing the red pill. Introverted doesn’t mean shy or lacking alpha qualities, it’s how you prefer to spend your time and recharge. I have no problem public speaking or socializing, but it does exhaust me.
