Going through something similar. DM me if you want to discuss our experiences. Stay strong and many of us are going through the same thing.

What fellowship were/are you considering? I would negotiate additional amount of spousal support during your 1-2 year of fellowship training. Also, you would get to interact with younger, potentially single women during the experience (medical students, residents, other fellows, attendings) that you wouldn't otherwise see in a rural practice.

Because attorneys are nothing but glorious e-mail forwarding service that charge $500/hour. In the end, everyone wants to avoid a trial. If, after multiple mediation sessions, you cannot come to terms, then, you should think about going to trial. If, and after all else fails, you choose to go trial, thats when you should hire an attorney. Until then, attorneys are useless.

Get multiple free lawyer consultations to understand your legal rights. Hire a divorce mediator that you both agree with Through mediation sessions, come to an agreement Hire an attorney to draft the agreement and submit to the judge Since most cases don’t end up in court, you don’t need to retain an attorney unless you plan to go to trial.

Avoid Randy Sabitini (Stearns and montgomery) and avoid James (Jimmy) Lewis with Shewmaker and Lewis. They are both unethical attorneys who overbill, under deliver, and miss deadlines. Try Victoria Ivory (ethical, responsive , snd intelligent).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
