1984 is a great novel. If you liked it, please read "Brave New World" if you haven't already. Brave New World tells of a future where the ruling class creates a pleasure paradise to keep the lower classes in line, as opposed to 1984 where they rule by brute force and authoritarian control. IMO, it's a much more challenging book to digest. The book follows the story of a man who just didn't quite fit in to the perfect world created for him.
