I've been meditating for a few months so far and it seems like it's definitely increased my awareness of thoughts, and with that my ability to recognize and at least label thoughts corresponding to detrimental attitudes or perceptions. I'd say it's easier for me to let go of thoughts too. However, this is just what it seems like, as I have no concrete measurement for whether I really am better at these things or if I just think I am.. lol. Regardless it can probably only help.

It's not outdated. New ideas don't necessarily outdate older scientific observations of human social behavior. Courtship hasn't radically changed. Definitely also advise Eckhart Tolle as well. Tolle basically just rephrases the teachings of Buddhism, Tao, Zen, and similar. "Be Here Now" and escape your mind which is currently playing through every possible scenario or rejection you could be going through in ten minutes. However, if you listen to Tolle on youtube, you'll notice a HUGE difference between the way he speaks and the way Owen talks. Please find an in-between that works for you!

This is excellent advice. I feel like I've read a similar post before? Either way great advice. People need to learn how to touch and not be creepy. True to a point. I think the ideal group to hang out with would be a mixed group of friends for diversity.
