I don't have any advice, but I'll be damned if your story isn't the most fascinating thing I've read in awhile. If I was a chick, I would hope to stumble across someone like you for sure.

Control what you can, dude. You can't control your hair, but you can control what your body looks like. In 5 years, you can be bald with an 8 pack. I'd rather have that then a thick head of hair and man boobs.

You have a very active mind, my friend. It seems like you're putting it to good use though. Have fun with everything :)

Meeting a bunch of friends on a first date is a lot to ask of anyone. I figure what you accomplished is a certain victory. I'm sure others would tell you not to contact her when she's gone, but I don't think a day or two of contact would be the worst thing. Just obviously not every day. Anyway, solid post. Made me feel great.

Thank you - that's a really nice thing to say.

I see your side of it now. Trickier to pull off, but you're absolutely right. Well said.

Myself? Always less than I'd like, unfortunately. Excluding schoolwork, probably 30 - 60 minutes a day. Can I ask why? (or was this for CoolShorts?)

Actually meeting is your next and only step. You don't know her yet.

How did you meet this girl? You want to develop natural friendship? You need to meet her. And be around her. And be yourself, and be natural. You're forcing things out that seem to make both of you uncomfortable. But lust and friendship rarely go hand in hand, unless you're interested in dating her.

Also - don't shit where you eat. A hairdresser is a perfect person to practice creating that connection, like sck_2008 says, but if you keep 'wearing her down,' she's probably not going want to cut your hair anymore. I do very much agree with the bullet points, though.

If you're paraphrasing "just looking for a friend," it's tough for me to say anything definitively - but when a girl says that, it seems pretty cut and dry to me. If you said what she said, to a girl, and that girl countered by asking you on a date... what would you say? I may be wrong, but that's my gut. Move on and maybe she'll come back.

I don't know that I had the same problems as you, but definitely similar. I truly believed that most women would not be interested in me. This stemmed from my actions in high school, I was a man slut and I did not care for the ramifications of my actions. I'm not sure why you are ashamed in your sexuality - but that's definitely something you need to overcome. Sex is an instinctual ability for humans, and you need to become comfortable with it, however you can. I've always felt that sex is an ul…

Ah, this is a really endearing read. Good for you, man. I'm rooting for you.

If you see only a few 9+ in hundreds of girls, then I would say you know what you like and half the battle is won.

Hey Puma, hope I'm not too late to the party. I've absolutely 100% gone through this, and I still do. My advice: ask yourself the question, "What about this pretty girl separates her from all the other pretty girls?" Honestly, you've said it yourself - there are pretty girls EVERYWHERE. To me, that was a desensitizing realization. Then, if you can understand WHAT about that person makes them attractive to YOU, you've shown yourself that you're above that immediate 'programming' and that you have…

Someone might give a better note than me, but I think you handled the shit-tests great. She was not going easy on you, and you pulled it off. I know I learned a lot from it, I can't say I would have done any better.

Being consciously aware is the first step! Keep moving forward my friend, I'm rooting for you. Emotions serve a purpose, but only when you control them, not the other way around.

Sounds like you're still thinking too much. They don't need a reason to be friendly or flirty with you, they might just think you're cute. If you're not ready for anything yet, don't seek out the attention of these girls, just enjoy it when it happens, and let it build your confidence. My two cents.
