This is simply wrong! I would think about how I can escape the situation, how I can escape the person, simple as that. I'm not spending the rest of my life with a person that was forced upon me. Let's take this unlikely scenario and work it out: Nobody will spend 40 years with the other person, simply because there are certainly only limited resources there. So it's very likely that one of us will try to kill the other to have a higher chance of survival. Then there is still the chance that my c…

You don't. We all know plenty of people we would rather not see them ever again. Heck, I don't even like some of my colleagues at all; I'll never get used to them. If I am now forced to marry one of them, it will end badly for both of us. Why do you want a system like this when so many people have already told you they would hate it? Just because you were never loved doesn't mean all the other people have to suffer the same fate as you.

They can't stand the fact that we're happy as singles and want to force us into marriage. Statistically speaking, unmarried and childless women are happiest and men are happiest when they are married as they benefit the most from marriage. Married women (with children), on the other hand, are the unhappiest and have a shorter life expectancy.

Well, I'm not so sure about that. The USA is currently embarking on a course that I find very worrying. Just thinking about the fact that some states want to ban no fault divorce is very worrying. But anyway, the point still stays! Women will not allow themselves to be humiliated again. Either they end their life or that of their coercive spouse. His idea is deadly for both women and men.

Yeah hard pass. If I would be forced to marry someone, he better sleeps with an eye open. I will not suffer for the rest of my life as a sex slave.

This would end in an absolute catastrophe. Homicide will go through the roof. This is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard and will end disastrously for every party. Has this idea even been thought through? What about people who aren't even interested in romantic relationships or sexual contact? What about homosexuals?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
