As someone who jumped into #2 out of biological panic at 36, now divorcing again at 41–I can second this

Yes, I’ve not had a drink in over 9 years now. That was the result of going to the meetings, finding someone who could explain the instructions in the textbook to me (all the instructions for getting sober are in the book “alcoholics anonymous”), and being willing to follow them even though I believed it was entirely bullshit. lol There are lots of ways to get sober and I tried all of them I could think of. AA was the last thing that I tried but the first thing that worked. I’m happy now even go…

Idk why don’t you forgive and reconcile. Divorce doesn’t have to be the outcome if she’s genuinely repentant; but you’ll have to be genuinely forgiving also.

We are planning to just tell our kids that “mom and dad don’t want to be best friends anymore and we are going to live in different places; that we both love you and want to share time with you so sometimes you’ll go mommy’s house and some times you’ll go to daddy’s”

I’ve just been sitting with the pain of it. Everything I don’t want to feel just comes in waves. I try to flail or fix or resist and when I do it just makes it worse.

What do we define a bad marriage? My wife and I were entirely disconnected emotionally but we never fought. I debated for a long time whether it was worth it to stay for the kids, or if it would be better for them for me to leave and find someone I could truly be happy with and set a better example. M I’m in the middle of leaving right now, because it got very much worse. so I’ll let you know

Hi. My wife is pretty much exactly the same except for the wanting an open marriage. As of today, the papers are being filed. I cannot stop the crash, I can only get out of the way.

Because that is what she quoted as her contribution to the business, which was not to the business but to our family—it’s something she would have been doing no matter where I worked

I took out a credit card solely in my name to start the business. Didn’t use any funds of the family account

Yea don’t worry at 37 you will only have women who can’t have kids in a few years anyway if you’re dating women your age

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
