Have you ever attending this kind of internal conference? I have. The focus is usually on team building during the event and after hours, i.e. your wife is very likely expected to go get drinks with her colleagues after the daily meetings. Knowing your spouse and kid are in the same hotel would be pretty awkward if you're put in a position where you can't really spend time with them. I really don't care what her male coworker does since you aren't married to him. All you've demonstrated is how i…

Let's say this guy is called Chuck. When he goes into his tirade you stand there with your arms crossed smiling at his little performance, turn to the attendees and say "That's Chuck being Chuck - am I right?" Give no indication that it bothers you at all. Treat him like a clown his beneath your notice and the coworkers will come to see him that way.

He's insecure and/or sees you as inferior and someone he can push around. I think this situation calls for what they call amused mastery? Next time this happens, watch him go on his little rant with a bemused smirk on your face. When Es finished say to the crowd "Do you believe this guy?" And let it go. I guarantee you they will see him as the clown he is and nothing else you can do will make him angrier.

I am probably older than you but I can relate a bit. I've struggled with anxiety and depression most of my life but learned to manage it well in my older age. In my younger years I would self medicate with booze, cigarettes and drugs and basically walked around feeling like I was a fraud throughout a lot of my professional career. Things that helped me: As I've become more successful professionally and gotten to see "behind the curtain" a little I've learned that people in management positions o…

I guess what I take issue with is the passive aggression. I've seen guys here say they will take a shower right after coming in, stay overnight at a B&B, flirt with other women in don't of their wife etc. I don't believe in those tactics, to me that crosses a line. Long story short on my DB problem, I: 1) dropped a ton of weight and got into the best shape of my life. 2) unambiguously told my wife that our frequency was insufficient and I did not want to be in the relationship anymore if we didn…

Being direct / honest is not dread. Working out to better yourself so that you're more attractive to your spouse isn't dread. Deliberately going out of your way to give your wife the impression you may be fucking around is dread. That's my entire point.

The advice that I am seeing on MRP is if your wife doesn't fuck you, leave the house specifcally to give the impression that you could be fucking around. Sometimes this advice comes with bonus tips like taking a shower right after you come in. You can't be leaving because you have better things to do if you're also leaving to dread your wife. I like to think my wife and I both like sex, time and effective so we're not exchanging one for the other.

If you're making backup plans before attempting to initiate sex it actually IS butthurt, regardless of how it comes across.

If leaving was just continuing with your day it wouldn't be discussed as a dread strategy. In fact it wouldn't be discussed at all because who comes online to be like "My wife didn't want to fuck so I took a drive to Barnes & Noble instead."

The reports of many married men suggest other ways to improve a sex life. I feel like half or more of the guys here are divorcing or heading there fast. I guess if it works for you more power to you.

I appreciate your polite response to my questions, thanks. I think we agree on some things. If a married guy were having less sex than he wanted, I'd recommend working out, getting fit, dressing better etc. Mostly because people married for a long time tend to take each other for granted and taking care of one's appearance is something he could do to take charge of the situation and may yield results. And I suppose in addition to making oneself more attractive working out also sends the message …

I don't think talking to your spouse is necessarily beta. I mean, whining about a lack of sex is. Directly telling your spouse that a marriage without regular sex isn't a marriage you want to be in is just being direct. Making your expectations for a marriage clear is never beta. I agree with MRP on losing weight, dressing better, having interests and hobbies, etc. as a path to a better sex life. I think actively attempting to dread your spouse will at best have the reaction you describe. You ma…

I'm just saying, attempting to initiate sex, getting shot down and then abruptly leaving the house is always going to come off as butthurt. What kind of message are you trying to send? "I was going to fuck you but my backup plan was to go work out if you're not interested - no biggie." I guess my point is that dread comes off to me like passive aggression, which is extremely "beta." If you're not getting the type or frequency of sex you want why not tell the wife? Or put effort into it? Or chang…

In a non RP lurker but this is Ask MRP so here goes: I often see advice about not acting butthurt but then leaving to instill dread if the wife declines sex. Is the goal to simply not act butthurt or is it to not actually BE butthurt? I ask because the advice about leaving the house in the middle of the night because you have better things to do etc. seems designed to evoke a reaction (dread) in the wife, which indicates to me some level of butthurt. What kind of non butthurt guy plays these pas…

She's not the "biggest child" in your house, she's your partner. Your wife is a bad partner but she's a partner nonetheless. She probably doesn't realize this but badmouthing you in front of the kids hurts your kids the most. So she's not just being a bad wife, she's also a bad mother. Finally I don't get why you've got to use "faggot." Lots of gay alpha men out there who are stronger more secure people then you. Why denigrate them? Work on yourself. Hope that helps.

I am in no way a RPer so this is just one married guy with a young kid (4 years old) giving another advice: Don't ever feel guilty about working out. I can only speak for myself but the 1.5 hours I spend at the gym 4x a week are literally the only time I am truly alone with my thoughts. They are hugely beneficial to me physically and mentally and I believe that makes me a better dad. During the week we alternate putting my son to sleep - on her nights I immediately go to work out. Going to the g…

Why didn't you just hand her the fucking chocolate, Rick? It sounds like your wife is passing all your shit tests with flying colors.

Ask yourself this: If you were not married would you ever drive to a parking lot to read quietly by yourself or spend a random night in a hotel? If the answer is "no" then it is all about attempting to get a reaction out of the wife.

This is great: You're not leaving to get a reaction, you're leaving to pretend you have something better to do until you find something better to do. Just leave the house at 11 PM on a Tuesday and if she asks, tell her you were at Barnes & Noble.

Okay serious response: It's a shame that Deliverance is only known for one notorious scene because it's a great movie based on a great book. The four main characters are easily read as male archetypes: we have the victim, the alpha male, the ivory tower liberal and John Voight who is sort of between these poles and serves as the audience's moral stand in. Burt Reynolds plays the classic Alpha male of the group. I am not a RPer so I can't how he would fall into this philosophy but it is a movie a…

You're taking a beating here. I will give you some weight loss advice that might be kind of obvious but I almost never see it is used here. If you're not doing any cardio, consider getting on the elliptical machine for a half hour at least before lifting. If you're doing it right (moderate resistance at a high / 10-11 mph rate), a guy your size should be able to burn 400 calories per and the cardio benefit will continue if you immediately lift weights afterward. I topped out at 200 lbs at 5'11 a…

Is that actually true? I might chalk the difference up to police targets / tactics. I live in a very black (25%), very poor and racially segregated city. For the past 15 years I've lived in a variety of very white working / lower class neighborhoods (Fishtown / East Kensington / Port Richmond). The OP's point about keeping your head on a swivel hit home for me. It's not just in the black neighborhoods. Everywhere I've lived has had some level of open air drug trade (Oxy or meth) and the police N…

Contrary to the advice here, no matter how attractive you are there are going to be times when your wife does not want to fuck you, like when she has a cold and is coming off a bad night's sleep. Your wife said "I'm tired" and "I can't believe you want to have sex after such a bad nights sleeping" hoping you would read between the lines and leave her alone. You forced a hard no by trucking along oblivious to her cues. That's not attractive.

The right reply is "Can't wait to see my hot baby tomorrow!" At least, that's what I do when your wife sends me flirty texts.

It's no big deal of the mother of your 3 kids and wife of 15 years cheats on you. If that's really your attitude why stay married? I think this is machismo talking. No human being gets cheated on and thinks "Meh, that's fine. I will just go fuck someone else." I would go have drinks and get to know this guy. The fact that he checked your wife out is really no big deal if he's not leering or otherwise being inappropriate. Your wife didn't need to tell you about it unless it crossed a line.

You should have gotten jowls-deep in that box and eaten her pussy til it was running down your chin, then pounded the holy fuck out of her. At least, that's what I would have done.

Maybe, maybe not. The situation pre-dates her pregnancy and giving birth + breast feeding does not nec. = a low libido. She should see a doctor but I wouldn't assume the issue is hormonal is what I'm saying.

I think I understand the concept of dread. It may start with self improvement but the endgame is eliciting dread in the wife when she realizes he has increased his SMV to the point where he has abundant options outside the marriage. Amirite? I'm suggesting that attempting these mind games may ultimately do his marriage harm. Assuming they've ruled out medical / depression issues and tried therapy already, my recommendation is to ask for written permission to get sex on the side. After all of sex…

It doesn't get much more beta than having to consult online strangers on your performance in these routine day to day conflicts. You've really given this plotless anecdote so much thought that you came here to ask if you handled yourself well? How do you ever manage to deal with actual issues?
/r/askMRP06/01/17 04:02 PM

Without any backstory my impression is: Wife may have depression and/or hormonal issues that contribute to the lack of libido, which is obviously compounded by your sh1tty relationship. If there's a way to encourage her to get this checked out by a doctor I would do so. Introduce dread? Your wife doesn't even like you - how are you going to make her fear your absence? Unless you're planning to first a) make her like and respect you again an b) then make her miss you? Good fucking luck with that!…

Just tell her you don't want it anymore, at all. Agree to talk about 3-somes and fantasies / role play in the sack to the extent you're cool with it. My wife and I talk about all kinds of things I'd never want to act on, for exactly the reasons you're talking about.

Where you really f'd up is when you started applying all sorts of rules and deliberate mental games to your marital relationship, then running to a bunch of strangers online to ask them to critique your performance. What I would have done: Texted my wife back to say I love her too. Maybe not at 8 AM or 10 AM whatever, but at some point. Not waiting til noon, ignoring her show of affection and suggesting doggy style instead. Told her I'd be staying @ the bar since our daughter's event was only 45…

I go maybe once a year. I am not entirely sure how my wife would feel about it. I've told her in the past that I've gone with work mates and she didn't seem to care. Most of the time I don't bother. I doubt it would be a big issue but why even worth risking it? The comments here about working on game etc. are missing the point. You're a happily married guy who's not looking for sex outside the marriage, you just want to see a hot woman who's not your wife in the buff. It is the same as pron and …
