The common rules is don't do it. I can't speak for everyone but if some chick came up to talk to me during my work out I'd be friendly enough; but really the gym is me time and I am there to work out not socialize.

As a blusher myself I feel you pain. I hate blushing because otherwise I could hide the fact that I'm uncomfortable. The only solution I've found is to stop being uncomfortable. Try to stay in the moment and realize that nothing bad is happening. I know it's way easier said than done but over time I've been able to reduce my blushing to a minimum, so maybe you can too.

There is no law against walking up to minors and talking to them. Just find out if she is of age before escalating further. Ask what her occupation is and if she says high school student then run.

It's not hoodwinking if it's consensual. Girls like sex just as much as guys and are just as willing to have a one time fling. That's not immoral. Men and Woman are equals and if they both decide to sleep with each other in a purely hedonistic way I see no problem with that,

Pick up is as much of a numbers game as it is a skill. The truth is, is that you cant always get with everyone you want. As you get better your success rate will be higher but I wouldnt expect much from your first approach. Just realize you were rejected and know that you will get rejected less if you practice more

I started reading this book thinking I was going to learn ways to manipulate people to do whatever. What it really is about is how to be a better person that people respect and are willing to do favors for without fundementally changing your personality. Really recommend this read
