This goes for both men and women. There is a difference between what we like and even to a degree "want" and what we are "attracted" to. The issue is that many people confuse the two and lack the self reflection to see it in ourselves. Hell, I do it too and have to stop myself sometimes. This applies to platonic relationships as well. I can't tell you how many times both growing up in school, college, work place, etc that I meet a new group of people and immediately feel a pull towards someone i…

I am somewhat similar. It's the inhibitions being lessened and just talking off the cuff. It would be great to easily just turn that part of your brain off sober.

I understand wanting to play it cool and not subtly get this info but there is no way to just indirectly ask and guarantee a direct answer. It's best to just shoot your shot and if you hear they have a BF just play it off cool and be respectful. That will make you look better for real. Being all sneaky about it may make you come off as weird or too shy, etc.

The "don't react, respond" is so true. This is necessary in all forms of life, with family, friends, coworkers, everyone. People and events will trip you up and get you making rushed decisions, saying things you regret, and becoming your own worst enemy. It's way better to slow down and take time than feel like you have to react right now. It can even make you seem more confident and deliberate.

So when someone says that. They are saying "you have all the qualities in a partner that I want, but I do not find you attractive." I personally find that to be a very insensitive and cruel thing to tell someone. You can and should tell friends that they have qualities you like or admire. But saying it like that is just being an asshole. Edit-grammar

I agree and have been struggling with this. It would be like me expecting to read a manual on archery and expecting to get a bullseye consistently right away. I am working on actually putting this into practice.

She either does not find you attractive, interesting, or both.

I have found dating apps as borderline worthless. Scammers are usually the only to reach out. Hell, I made a eHarmony account and filtered for people in my area. I live in Louisville KY which is a big city, once I put in age range from 20 to 37. And less than 50 miles away. Less than 30 came up. And only 10 had been online in the last month... The number of results was below

I generally think most guys don't know what to do. For example, being nice is effective in many social situations. I was always super nice in high school. While I wasn't popular, I generally well liked and people treated me well. Now when it came to women I would follow that same logic. I think everyone is different, but when I was crushing on a girl, I just could not think straight. I was too nice, too accommodating, not being myself. Afterward I would realize I was way off the mark. But to a d…

Honestly, I have this issue where I can be charming, sometimes at least, and get a woman initially interested in me. But I absolutely struggle to escalate. I start overthinking and then flounder.

I don't mind it once in a while. But here it happens so frequently, and obviously that it does not spare my feelings... For example, we will be texting back and forth. Then all sudden I might mention hanging out or making real plans. She then takes hours to respond if at all. Saying she got busy or fell asleep. That's fine, that can happen to me. But she had posted to snap chat in that time like two times just chilling with her dog.... At that point just be honest.

I have a friend I was attracted to. We got along great, similar sense of humor. But eventually I saw some behaviors that literally hit me like a cold shower. She would talk politics very nastily. She would casually drop bombs and if I even began to respond she would say I wasn't listening. She would occasionally tell very obvious lies to I think avoid hurting feelings. For instance, I asked if she would like to play any games one night, she said she had to work. Then I saw her log into league of…

How do I change the way think? I have always tended to ruminate and assume people think very little of me. I don't know if it's just simple insecurity or what but I feel like I get a little better sometimes and then fall right back into it.

Do you know any good sources or books that break down how to read someone? I need all the help I can get.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
