I think the title was misleading. This isn’t a potential new partner. Hasn’t even been on a date yet. I think the title should have been “when dating, how soon should one disclose they’re going through a divorce and have children”. Sort of a difficult thing to hide. But like others said, if you tell a lady and it matters much to them, then move on. It’s just s preference. Some will, some won’t. Just get it out in the open.

Can understand the want to date. Don’t think you should like most here but whatever dude. To answer your question. Probability of it being a deal breaker increases the younger the woman is, in my experience. So it depends. But yeah try and mention it as early as possible especially if you have kids. If you are both certain it’s just casual and will never be anything more then what does it matter. Fuck. Be safe. Have fun. But yeah. Important point which will in some way negatively impacts you hol…

Hey I’m also going through a divorce. Not too bad for me but I found a group called MFSF charity and I’m in their WhatsApp group. If you DM me, I can invite you. The brothers there know quite a bit about what you’re about to get yourself into and can give you practical advice on what to do based on what you want as an outcome.

That’s akin to driving to the supermarket but being afraid of a car crash. Divorce is not on the horizon. You can’t hide your income. Improve your married life with the additional income. Enjoy life. Enjoy her. All will be well brother.

Fight and give it everything you’ve got. It’s you an your kid against someone trying to destroy you. If you were on the battlefield what would you do? Just keep going so you can’t look back in a few years and say I didn’t even try. Fucking give it 100%. We’re all praying for each other brother. We’re standing with you. If we could fight for you, we would. We’re in this together. Sort your routines out: Eat healthy from now Cut the cigs and drink Join the gym and pump iron a lot Meditate No amoun…

Depends. I’m the UK. It was traumatic. Most of us don’t get the child arrangements we want, have to pay a lot of money in child support, lose our social circle, have trouble with work and have difficulty finding housing. So that’s a lot to deal with. Some of us are able to accept it, deal with the reality of the circumstances and move forward. So expect some stories what they went through, the ability to stay positive and keep amicable in the face of adversity. Someone that’s not shy of commitme…

Spend some time on discovering what it is you want in life. Don’t fantasise on regular intimacy. You expect to be shagging every week when you’re 70? Accept the natural evolution of your marriage and life and if you want some excitement and change then do something for her. Become that guy and take her on dates, bring her flowers. Enjoy life brother, you’ve got a lot to be thankful for. I wish I could have my family back.

Knowing what I know now, divorces occur in almost 50% of marriages and majority of men suffer. So yes.

Lost my house and have to rent privately now so +£900 a month more than what I was paying at the house. Child maintenance is £500 a month for next 20 years which increases the more I earn. Possible spousal maintenance is £300 a month too.

But why? So she can take half your shit and fuck off when she’s had enough and isn’t happy anymore? Just don’t do it. It’s not a romantic thing it’s a trap. Live together, have kids etc whatever but don’t sign shit. Prenups aren’t always legally binding ubiquitously so even that’s contentious. I’m going though a divorce and I feel like I’ve been pushed back 10 years in life.

Oh goodness what kind of deal did you make when you 'cut ties' with your ex and children, surely you still have to pay child support money? Why'd you cut ties with your children too?

Accepr failure is a part of life. Once yous do that you will grow. Failure > opportunity. Become the man you wish you were now. That's at least how i see it. Still it's a tough time but the quicker you do it the less painful and time lost.

Wow no kids. You'll look back and see how you won in life. God speed brother. Its a long road ahead but if you get your ducks in a row, hopefully you'll figure things out before the emotional mess becomes something you can't undo. Get emotional help. Get legal advice. Get financial advice. Look after your health and the last thing you want to do is agree to a petty fuck with her. God speed brother. We are rooting for you.

Literally going through the same thing. Same feeling down to leaving the room when they are with me knowing they'll be gone in a few hours. It's tough but the other comments are right. If you want to call me to speak on the phone then feel free to pm me brother.

That's lovely news mate. My wife left a few months ago and took the kids. I see them every weekend but that's all I have right now. If she moves closer to me then I can do 50/50 split with her otherwise this is all I have. Kids are 5 and 2 so impossible to look after them as ones not even in school yet. Also I'm paying her a fifth of my income as child maintenance. What a life eh fellas. Had it all figured out and she fucked me over.

This is something I'm concerned about when thinking about a new partner. I have two boys with my ex and unsure how to find new partner that will be accepting of this. You did though. What is the secret?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
