Yeah, I saw that too and the devil's in the details. It helps to remember that narcissists are just THE BEST at clapbacks and really good at deflecting attention away from their inherent creepiness with excessive sass. Hopefully, the FDSers who missed that will spend more time leveling up here so that stuff like that doesn't slip by anymore. LVMs use the exact same tactics on display here to hide their true natures and distract women from their actions so it's really necessary to see it for what…

do you think if the judge said something instead about how if the woman ever feels like she can’t do something etc etc that she needs to remember that she is always worthy of investing in herself (something to that effect)? Yes, that's exactly what I meant by the "in theory" part. A big chunk of FDS is just this BUT the main difference between what you'll see around here and this performative "tough love" crap in the video is that the advice is given to women AFTER they're out of the abusive rel…

Yeah, this is just standard victim-blaming with a pretty bow to make it more palatable, that's why both he and the crowd loved it. It all comes back to most people's desperate need to believe that "It could never happen to me" when faced with the reality of abuse, so they grasp at anything at all (no matter how unrealistic when you know the real psychology of abuse) the victim theoretically could've done differently to avoid or stop the abuse. It can slip under the radar because, in theory, it's…

It's not even a "humblebrag" since the event described is literally physically impossible. It's more like a lying ass stupidbrag; broadcasting both your ignorance and depravity in one fell swoop.

The number one red flag that I've encountered is that they'll point out your flaws under the guise of trying to help you improve but it's really just Step One of trying to get you under their control without you noticing what's happening. For example; I'm a smoker and my guard automatically goes up when someone I don't know well starts going on and on about my health. Like, we are strangers, there's no way in hell you genuinely care about my potential future health problems this much to keep bri…

ALSO why are so many of these women so resentful of their step children? They want the husband minus the children in which case what the fuck are they doing with a man with children? Disgusting. I've seen some women do this as a case of EXTREME Pickmeism; what they actually want is for the single dad to pick them over his own kids. They seem to think it'll be some supremely validating experience and most of them have a terrible or nonexistent relationship with their own fathers, which makes bein…

That whole thread looks like a mass gaslighting event with you as the target. It is not prudish to think a teenager shouldn't be cuddling nude with her goddamn father. And they can all fuck right exactly off with that CuLtUrAl ReLaTiViTy bullshit; there is NO culture on earth with access to the English-speaking internet where this would be considered okay by anyone except incestuous pedos and their enablers.

I'm also allergic to cats but have owned about 7 by now. The key is to, in the beginning, stick to just one cat and have your bedroom be a 100% kitty-free zone; vacuum and sweep daily, including your furniture and curtains; wash your clothes with hypoallergenic detergent and bathe twice a day; and finally, groom the cat thoroughly every day, or better yet, have someone else do daily grooming. For the first few months I still had to take allergy meds even with all that, but your tolerance WILL gr…

Yeah, and all in the name of "raising awareness" except that only half (generous estimate) of the audience is actually smart enough to see what's wrong here; for the rest it's just poverty/exploitation/humiliation porn. You don't actually have to see someone like Rose being humiliated by someone like Ed to know that the dregs of Western men are benefitting from the economic desperation of women in the Third World. It's hard for me to take seriously people who watch these shows as feminist allies…

AND the fact that the woman he got with after his wife mysteriously died was an old friend of hers since college, AND the fact that they both tried to at first hide that fact and then downplay the friendship when suspicious people looked into it and shared it publicly. They went from completely concealing the friendship, to denying it was close, to claiming they'd drifted apart in the months prior to her death when people proved they'd been besties since college. Rebecca is another story that puts the heroine in a lose-lose situation so the reader won't notice that her love interest sucks and she actually deserves much better. I think it's all a "more realistic" perversion of the Cinderella trope; as everyone knows "beggars can't be choosers", the writer piles the misery on the heroine so that when the guy she winds up with turns out to be Prince Charming's rude, misshapen cousin, a life with him is still viewed to be better than anything anyone in her p…

I think the fact that all of his "strong female characters" are basically just 5'2, 90 lb magic-ninjas makes it pretty clear that he hates all women who actually exist in the real world. Apparently, in his mind, a woman is only worthy of respect if she can beat up men thrice her size and look hot doing it, therefore no actual human woman can ever meet the standard.

Logan was hands-down the closest thing to a HVM in a show that seemed to be using the Pokemon approach to showcasing LVM and the PickMes who "love" them. He's the only one who started out with believably tolerable flaws and actually outgrew them over time becoming a more well-rounded and better person; as opposed to almost every other male on the show who started out with barely tolerable flaws and only got worse as time went on. Yeah he had melt downs when I gave homeless people money Ugh. This is on my list of deal-breakers. Both of my exes would throw a fit whenever I gave money to charities or individual homeless people. In their minds, every penny I gave to charity was a penny they weren't getting for video games and other nonsense, so they had the nerve to feel justified in being upset about it. I completely agree with you that within a committed relationship, a HVM would have no problem being treated by his partner and would welcome and appreciate it. I just think you need to be conscious of cultural norms and not come off as aggressively "woke" or worse, accusatory, especially in the dating phase. It's not really kindness if you're trying to prove a point or put on a show.

I think that here at FDS it's important to be realistic about what strategies are likely to backfire IRL. Most adults just want to fit in, take a break from politics while socializing and not call unnecessary attention to themselves in public. Putting on a show of reversing gender roles on a date is political and calls attention to yourself whether we like it or not. I just don't think that enforcing your right to pull out a guy's chair for him is a hill worth dying on, and that there are plenty…

I meant the very specific "chivalrous date" behavior being performed like you're in a movie, not general kindness. It's not so much about what's "masculine" or "feminine", if you're in any western culture, these particular behaviors on a date are coded as what the guy does, so acting it out as a "gender reversal" to prove to a guy that he has "toxic masculinity" is silly, performative, and likely to turn off any guy who doesn't feel like being accused of insufficient "wokeness" and participating…

Me too. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just the last time in a string of events where she tried to break him out of his "toxic masculinity" by doing traditionally masculine things for him in public. I used to have a libfem friend who would do stuff like that with guys; open doors for them, pull out their chair, pay for dates, surprise them with expensive gifts on said dates, etc; all in the name of breaking gender roles and proving she was a 50/50 cool girl. It's perfectly normal and even necessary behavior for teenagers. There's no other way to develop a personality and sense of self than by trying on different identities while you're young, malleable, and have other people taking care of you. It becomes maladaptive and a huge red flag to still being doing that to a degree where other people notice it past the age of 21. It's like the majority of western men are stuck in a perpetual adolescence and refuse to/can't grow up because the culture and st…

I said "informally" adopted. He dated single mothers in the past who had children whose fathers weren't in the picture but were still legally fathers. He bonded with those kids and still treats like them his own even though those relationships didn't work out. It actually does speak to his character that his ex-girlfriends not only trusted him enough to maintain a relationship with their kids, but are happy to still have an ex in their life like that. I didn't think you were being rude at all. I think we're just thinking about it from different angles while agreeing on the details; you're on the preventative side and I'm on the palliative side of it. You're trying to discourage women from ever even going there in the first place, and I'm like, "Well, if you did already go there, it's understandable for a woman who's been used to try and use men right back, but it's not good for you in the long run." I agree, it's a step back from leveling up. I just choose to withhold judgement for women who go that way beyond pointing out that it's not ideal for self-improvement because on the quest for agency, most women WILL mistakes like that and they need to know it's not an irrecoverable nor unforgivable error.

Out of four partners, I've only ever had ONE guy who knew how to go down properly. He made it a whole body experience, and communicated throughout to make sure I was enjoying it. With every other guy, it would've been more entertaining to watch paint dry since at least with that there wouldn't be physical discomfort/pain on top of the boredom. I find it hilarious that Thor is the least popular Avenger amongst male MCU fans. My girlfriends and I were very late to the MCU party, and Thor came out on top as the best of them right away, so we were all shocked but then just amused when we realized that most men who've been into it since the beginning just hate him so much.

IKR. He was extra stupid because at that point, the only reason he was even there was because my boss had personally invited him right after meeting him a few weeks before and since the dinner was $500 a plate I didn't feel comfortable replacing him with another guest on such short notice. If he'd played his cards right, even though I still would've dumped him, my boss was the type of person who would've tried to help him out with his career; that was literally his plan when he invited him. If you're into old-school, Fleetwood Mac, Dixie Chicks, Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Garbage, Hole, and Bikini Kill all have some great feminist bangers. Reading between the lines in his rant makes me think that the real reason she "randomly freaked out" at being sent flowers at work and responded by blocking him on everything is that she never told this guy where she worked. Ok, first things first: You and I seem to have a very different definition of "threat to the establishment". By my definition, any group that can organize a large number of citizens, educate them on their rights, and get them to mobilize in demanding those rights, is a very real threat to the establishment, if they can do all that while retaining the moral high ground and denouncing indiscriminate violence. By your logic, I guess Occupy Wall Street and the growing pro-socialism movement sparked …

You hit the nail on the head. The fact that black men are materially rewarded and praised to high heaven by society for actively participating in the oppression and degradation of black women really needs to be pointed out more often. It also needs to be underlined that it was direct negative government interference in the lives of black families that led to the current status quo. I think that the last major chance to reverse course on racism was the period immediately after WWII, but the gover…

Honestly, IMO, it's mostly culture and circumstance. There was a thread on here earlier about the general shittiness of French men, and just like in that case, men will fall to whatever low bar the society they're in allow them to. In the US, black men are simultaneously oppressed and oppressors, so people who look at the victim side are overly-tolerant on a personal level in a (counter-productive) attempt to compensate for the widespread, institutional vilification of this group. Basically, the remake shat all over the most important messages in both the original Disney film and the traditional Chinese stories. I just saw this trope in action yesterday when I watched Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time. Star-Douche, played by Chris Pratt, is emotionally crippled by his daddy issues, so here comes Zoe Saldana to play stern mommy cool-girl and patch him up. It also had the punching bag character in the form of Star-Douche's dad's sex-slave, who all the main characters, including Mommy Cool-girl, cheerfully joined in with abusing.

In my family, this child would be sent to The Farm. Some of my relatives still live in a super rural, off-the-grid area in the Deep South, and teenagers are often threatened with being sent to live there until they're 18 and can choose to leave. Precocious sexuality is one of the few acts that can make the threat real and this girl would already be packing as soon as this nonsense hit the internet.

Awkwardness isn't inherently a flaw. I was born awkward but luckily I had a doting grandma who thought I hung the moon and taught me to lean into ALL of my personality traits, including awkwardness. When you own it as part of you instead of being ashamed of it as a flaw, most people perceive it as earnestness and find you more honest and trustworthy. The audience discomfort was palpable.

A couple years ago I had to drop out of a support group for ED because one NVM in the group latched on to me and just would NOT take "no, thank you" for an answer to all of his attempts to weasel his way into my private life. The therapists not only encouraged him but also tried to shame and browbeat me into "giving him a chance" and stop being so "standoffish/stuck up". They kept going on and on about how I "could be good for him", and one even went so far as to call me materialistic and claim …

Me too! Thankfully, TV Geralt is in the very capable of hands of some very smart women so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the character in future seasons. Yennefer too; in the books she's a self-hating yet narcissistic Pickme who sabotages and hates other women and the gift of magic is wasted on her. The TV show turned into her a strong woman who supports other women with believable and sympathetic flaws. I really can't stress enough how great the female-led adaptation is and how…

I agree. Although men are pretty much the same everywhere, different cultures have different "bare minimums". So, the men who are already inclined to limbo juuuuust under the bar are going to be the worst when they come from cultures with an already too low bar. A NVM from say Saudi Arabia is going to be much more dangerous than one from Switzerland simply because those cultures have very different tolerance levels for male bullshit.

It could be fun to go into reading them with the expectation of having a good laugh at the author's ham-fisted failed attempt to make his self-insert character every woman's wet dream. Or you could pretend to be a witch and just burn them ceremoniously to cleanse the world of that bad mojo. lol

Lol Yep, you called it. And that's not the only instance of NVM wish fulfillment in the books. The whole character of Geralt is one of the most egregious examples of a depraved man's Marty Stu I've ever seen. The vast difference between Book Geralt and TV Geralt is really a testament to the skill of the women who adapted the story for Netflix. If I'd read the books first, I'd have never believed it was possible to turn Geralt into something even palatable to sane women, let alone attractive.

He was probably referring to Book Geralt who does indeed suck. The women who adapted the books to the TV show really went above and beyond cleaning up the character as much as possible considering the source material. Book Geralt is a whiny, clingy, needy, narcissistic, misogynistic, cowardly, covertly pedo mall ninja. In a series full of vampires, magic, and mythical monsters, a whole damn coven of strong and intelligent women falling all over themselves to be with Geralt is the most unbelievab…

While I understand the spirit of your comment in the context of this particular post, in general, a woman should seek to provide for herself AND also insist on her partner providing for her within a committed relationship while keeping her own money as insurance in case the relationship fails. So, IMO, FriendlyPitch1 is correct; regardless of your ability to provide for yourself, there is no point in dating a man who's unable or unwilling to provide for you.

Your fifth point is the biggest red flag for extreme selfishness too, in my experience. Guys who feel the need to flaunt their "wealth" to such a degree typically don't have much to begin with and so are very reluctant to spend any money at all on others because it digs into their excessive budget for visible status symbols for themselves. I think that's something that younger women in particular need to be more aware of sooner rather than later; the more of his "wealth" that he's conspicuously …

If you live in the US, you would've gotten child support regardless of marital status. And if your income is below a certain threshold, then the state would do all the work of pursuing it on your behalf and foot all the legal bills for going after him if he's non-compliant. This is one of the few things that the US government does right by kids with and most people don't know how it all works unless they're a deadbeat dad or enabler complaining about it.

You can but it's not a good idea. Breakups with shared property are usually much messier than divorces because there are really no laws that dictate a standard practice for splitting it up. If it ended up going to court, you'd be dealing with a civil court judge and they're not as experienced in these kinds of situations as family court judges are. I think a woman is more likely to get shafted when dealing with civil court in a breakup than family court in a divorce.

I agree that age is probably what makes the difference. When you're older, you've already seen the ever-smiling black mule trope that Tiana represents a gazillion times and are sick of it. Also, you now have the life experience necessary to recognize that the story being sold never works out that way in real life, so the cake being a lie just adds to the disdain for the story. His features are a little more European-esque than most Koreans and one thing I don't like about a lot of the shows he's in is how sometimes they like to juxtapose his looks to the other male actors as though he's more attractive than them because of that difference. Weeeelllll, she did tolerate her bf having a bf and try to force herself to "cool girl" away her obvious discomfort and humiliation about being part of a "throuple". But she grew out of all that nonsense later and recognized her worth so her story is a great example that women can level up and bounce back from anything once they want to.

This is one of the most liberating truths there is when you really let the reality of it sink in deep. The biggest piece of evidence for it is the eerie similarity of the stereotypes for different ethnic groups in different societies; once you identify which group is the "undesirable" underclass in any society regardless of your familiarity with that group or that society, you can actually predict the nature of the stereotypes about them because it's all the same stuff everywhere. I was so shock…

That's a good one. There are waaayyy too many men out there who missed the point that it was supposed to be anti-nazi. I used to know a VERY confused white supremacist who had a crush on me in high school whose views largely came from an incorrect viewing of that movie, which was of course his fav.

That and Mad Men really were great for society in a roundabout way; while those two shows were dominating the zeitgeist, N/LVMs were making themselves VERY conspicuous by doing obvious imitations of Walter White and Don Draper instead of having a personality. They stuck out like sore thumbs and annoyed the hell out of normal people making it very easy to not only spot them but most people agreed with rejecting them instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt. The dummies who imitate The Joke…

I think it's worth seeing because it's an entertaining movie. The fact that it gives you insight into the mind of the typical "nice guy" is just icing. When it first came out, I was so shocked that anyone could watch it and come out thinking Summer was the bad guy, so I'd say the film does a good job of drawing a very clear line between how normal people think and see the world and how "nice guys" and their cheerleaders think and see the world. It's polarizing in a good way.

The only way I managed to protect myself from the heavy pressure to have kids ASAP, married or not, from my family was by imitating an unmarried and childless great aunt I admire and presenting myself as a proud cat-mom right from the start of adulthood. It's sad, but it worked. My family mocks me for only wanting fur-babies but they accept it as my personality and the pressure's off. 9/10 would def recommend to any young women needing a way to get people off their backs about reproducing.

You're probably right; my family is pretty conservative and the way I've seen it done in movies would def not fly. I once saw a groom lift the bride's dress all the way up to her undies and pull it off with his teeth with her leg up in the air over his shoulder in a movie. I think it's complicated. Both Federline and Britney's family are very, very good at public image-management while Britney is too controlled and mentally unstable to paint her own portrait and control the narrative as well as they can. A point against Federline is the fact that most people don't even know he has another child with a different former celebrity. This fight is older than dirt, so thank you so much for updating the argument for the upteenth time in 2020. One of the criticisms I've seen against feminist critiques of this song is that it's "unfair' to criticize famous black women for the harm they do because no one criticizes famous black men for the harm they do. I almost never see any of that behavior from men in real life. This reminds me of a trend that I've noticed in all media lately. Whenever a sex scene involves a black actress, it's almost always portrayed as rough sex. A particularly egregious example of what I mean is the Amazon show The Man in the High Castle; in the first three seasons, all of the intimate scenes were done surprisingly well and were a breath of fresh air. There was no gratuitous nudity, no unnecessary roughness, and the sex was tastefully implied instead of graphically depicted. That all…

Bizarre yet sadly believable if you've ever been around the type of women the characters are modeled after. I think the shortest amount of time a couple needs to cohabit to be considered common-law is five years, and the average is 7-10 in most states. Also, in some places, the law doesn't apply at all unless there are children involved. Common-law marriages actually came about as a way for the state to disallow men abusing a loophole to exploit a woman out of domestic labor without providing the security of marriage. So, if you were cohabiting for long enough and/or had children, the state ignored whether or not you pursued marriage and just declared you "legally wed" with all the rights and responsibilities that came with it. So, if a common-law marriage disintegrated the woman would be entitled to alimony and marital property…

I'd say blame both. While it's true that the man is the one who betrayed you because the two of you had a relationship, acting like the woman didn't do anything at all that you have a right to be pissed at her about isn't doing yourself any favors. What is it with the aversion to sunscreen?!? I'm a WOC, my ex was white and super pale and trying to get him to wear sunscreen was like pulling teeth. Didn't matter how many times he got KO'd by the big fiery ball in the sky, he seemed to think taking any steps whatsoever to prevent that outcome was wussy. It got to the point where I had to start walking around with sunscreen in my purse, on the chance that he might put it on when the burning started with sufficient nagging on my part. The worst…

I don't think that's true. I had too many options when I was young and I was still strongly anti-hookup. That's just RP propaganda that young women are "naturally wired" to promiscuity until they "hit the wall" and want to settle down.

If you really believe that, then you need to study the handbook. A woman with an advanced degree who ends up at working at Walmart because she sucks at her job so thoroughly it couldn't be overlooked anymore AND has harmed other women with her incompetence, is absolutely LV, though.

OMG, same thing happened to me! It was actually his own best friend who ratted him out that he'd been lying about how much the bills were for months, pocketing the difference and then BRAGGING to his friends about it. His friends were also LV, but fortunately for me, they drew the line at using a woman for money and looked down on him for that, if nothing else.

English is funny that way; if you're referring to TLC as an entity like a company, then "it's" is appropriate, but if you're referring to TLC as T-Boz, Left-Eye, and Chili then "their" would be appropriate. So, since TLC is a musical group with a brand and image, both words are technically correct.

I've never used OLD, so I have no idea what it's like on there, firsthand. But what I DO know from personal experience is that if the odds are against you finding the kind of guy you want then you can change the odds by changing your position on the field. Even if you take the tree as a parent then it's still a cautionary tale of how not to parent a child. Women who do that are just the worst. Child support is the CHILD'S RIGHT. If you've already disadvantaged your child by picking a father who isn't going to stick around and actually raise their child, there's no excuse for further screwing them over by waiving their legal right to financial support on their behalf and against their interests. I see a lot of other takes in this thread to consider, but only you can know for sure if he's just trying to mate-guard within your boundaries (normal and not LV behavior, possibly even a green flag that he's responsive and willing to compromise his wants to fit your needs) or if he's trying to trick you into giving more than he's willing to reciprocate. In the US, the two terms are usually interchangeable. I think he might be trying to differentiate so you'll be more comfortable moving forward. It sounds like he wants to be in a full-blown relationship with you, but is willing to settle for simply being 'exclusive' for now if you don't want to go all-in yet. The "girlfriend" title implies taking steps to merge your lives together more and meeting each other's families and friends, whereas simply being exclusive is agreeing not to date others an…

I deal with it by seeking out and internalizing examples of HVM. It's like you're trying to re-calibrate your libido so instead of being completely dead in response to the high prevalence of N/LVM's, it will only respond to HVM. Honestly, I think it's all part of a necessary process. If it gets these assholes to stop supporting the porn industry, I don't even care what kind of hateful mental gymnastics it takes to get them there. Not everyone can be saved so the next best thing is harm reduction. Also, since porn consumption is a strong factor in developing these toxic views, if some of them stop because of this logic, at least a few might get the breathing room necessary to heal some of their damage and get further away from the toxicity.

On your last point; young men who are taken advantage of sexually by older women almost always turn into fuckboys who then go on to traumatize younger women. That predatory shit is CONTAGIOUS. It really does. What makes it even worse is that she's preaching to young women what she doesn't even practice herself, fully. I highly doubt that a multi-millionaire is really the one solely responsible for cooking, cleaning, and childcare in her million dollar home. The sex-on-demand and eager submissiveness parts might be true to her own life, but the rest is clearly just propaganda aimed at the have-nots who look up to her.

Even though castration doesn't really stop them, I agree with you. At least it's something. I honestly believe that widespread tolerance for pedophilia is one of the last stages before a full-blown societal collapse. When children grow up with no expectation of being protected from predatory adults, each successive generation is more and more damaged, and less and less able to function well enough to keep a society going.

Yeah, in my experience it's hit or miss with this defense, too. At least if you're in public, you have the "moral high ground" to encourage bystanders to intervene and shame the loser for not even respecting the institution of marriage. The worst are the ones who stay in touch just so they look amazing and normal by comparison; they're the most likely to be abusive themselves when the mask slips because they've learned how to manage appearances and get away with being terrible people in private. If the guy can clearly use his words to describe exactly …

I really wish more of these losers could see what they really look like when they pull this crap. It's like, "Oh damn, I almost respected you as a decent and successful human being. Thanks for letting me know you're just a pathetic man-child!" What happened to older men getting their ego fix by being admired as good mentors to the youth? Why do they have to involve their dicks in everything and ruin it, nowadays?

The lowest point of my life was when I had a NVM like this mooching off of me and his mother guilt-tripped me into letting it continue for waaayyy too long. He had basically finessed his way into being MY son now, and his actual mother felt very strongly I was obligated to continue raising her failure because I'd already been doing it for so long, so when we broke up, he had nowhere to go but back to her basement where I'd found him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/07/20 10:48 AM

Agreed, but it's totally fine to blame his mother for her own behavior. Trying to coerce another woman into tolerating/housing the massive mistake she birthed and raised is all on her.

I disagree that it's LV to dump pickme friends. It's often necessary for your own survival. One example from my own life is several years ago I had a pickme bff who was dating a very violent and angry NVM. All of her exes had been trash too, but were tolerable compared to the final piece of work. One night she was hanging out at my place and he showed up in a rage over some petty nonsense. When he started in verbally abusing her at top volume, I told him to get out of my apartment, so he started…

It's totally this. Women who don't have any standards for themselves are incapable of seeing other women as anything other than competition for male attention. So, if you raise your standards and you're attractive they feel threatened that the combo of high standards/physical attractiveness will make them invisible to men compared to you and they can't see that the solution is to follow suit and level up rather than try to tear you back down to their level. The only upside is that at least these…

I hate that, too, but unfortunately it seems like it's gonna stick with the younger generation. Kinda like the "f**got" word; younger people just don't even acknowledge the older offensive definition and won't drop it from their vocabulary.

Ugh, that sounds like a total nightmare. I loathe women who'd rather punish another woman for simply existing than just deal with the NVM who's her real problem. As much as I hate to sound classist, I have to completely agree with your last point, too. Low income men have less to lose by letting all the awful hang out in broad daylight for everyone to see, so of course they do so and do it loudly. Don't stress it too much; you still have plenty of time to develop new habits, one by one, as you're ready and willing. Trying to push for too much, too soon is actually counter-productive because you wind up working against yourself instead of with yourself, which happens naturally when you follow your instincts and interests. This is one of the most disgusting things I've read all week. Yes, she is essentially advocating for some women to literally be sacrificed to save others but insisting no one call a duck a duck. The part about this being necessary because we live in a sex-oriented culture is what really pissed me off. The solution to a sex-obsessed culture is to fix the damn culture not appease it by sacrificing women to it. This is like arguing that in response to our war-obsessed culture we should bring back t…

Yeah, you should definitely work with a doctor to figure this out. If it helps, in my experience, it took about 18 months of being off the pill for my system to normalize. It got worse before it got better, but only a medical professional can say for sure what's gonna work for you. Some women with endo need to stay on the pill until they're ready for pregnancy to see relief.

He's definitely a pedo who simply hasn't acted on it (yet). If/when he does act on it, he's going to use the fact that everyone decent rightfully hates pedos to justify his actions. While there is a difference between men with pedophiliac thoughts and actual pedophiles, the primary difference is the former know there's something wrong with them and would never defend it, while the latter are just looking for an excuse to do what they want to do and will defend their sickness to the grave.

She didn't give herself enough TIME to even see the signs. According to her timeline of events, she was already pregnant at the two-month mark, which I think is the earliest you should even start thinking about sleeping with a guy at some point in the future with protection, of course. Lol, definitely DO NOT start smoking to deepen your voice! Singing lessons would be more effective and are also a way to level up by developing a skill. I've noticed that the waiter actually giving the bill to the guy has started to hinge on the quality/cost of the restaurant. My theory is that at higher-end places the overwhelming majority of men are fully expecting and intending to pay, and will actually get upset and offended if the waiter even implies the opposite with where he places the bill. At cheaper places, a couple going 50/50 might be more common and it's way less likely that a guy would get angry about the implication that he isn't …

My mom did the same thing because she was one of the rare women in my family who had 'normal' periods and she also lacked the empathy to take someone else's pain seriously. She actually refused to let me stay home from school when I was curled up in a ball and crying because she said I was faking it for attention. A family history of it increases your chances of having it. I'm pretty certain that my youngest sister has it and am trying to get her to try the pill for a while to alleviate it as that's what helped me a ton when I was younger. I was actually diagnosed by an aunt who's an N.P. and also had it. After 2 years on the pill, then a few years off, my cycle normalized and my periods are no longer so intense. Yeah, it reads as cultural humor. Women who focus on their own fun rather than building their life around some man are called "hoes" regardless of whether or not her fun even includes dating. Just doing anything in life without a man in tow to take care of can make you a "hoe", because as we all know single women have no value and can't be trusted. She's talking about a mindset, not literal reality. I do the same; it basically means you just don't look at men in relationships as 'sexual beings'. I see them as uglier women who lack boobs (hopefully). Great as friends, but if they try anything with you, your instant visceral gut reaction is revulsion. It feels like some androgynous troll is slobbering on you after tricking you into thinking it was friendly. Very handy.

Will and Jada have always been off, (both as a couple and as individuals) so their marital troubles aren't even surprising let alone a reason to question marriage itself. If you look up Jada's history with Tupac (tl;dr-she was a long-term public mistress while he was married), it becomes clear that she was never going to have a good LTR without a whole lot of therapy and self-work. She was a major Pickmeisha with low self-esteem that negatively effected both her personal and professional life, a…

Yeah, I'm really praying for her that she lives somewhere that won't give this gold digger any part of it in a divorce.

I'm pretty sure that if your opinion didn't matter here you'd be outright banned. I think your advice in this comment is pretty spot-on and hope you continue contributing and leveling up.

Does this sound like a play out of the DREAD game to anyone else? He goes to spin class (the work on yourself part), he regularly tells his wife that the instructor is hot (inducing jealousy) and then leaps at the chance to humiliate her in public by telling all their friends he'd rather share his bed with this other woman he knows. Just 'cause he's playing dumb doesn't mean he really is this dumb. I smell a redpilled rat here going for plausible deniability.

This irked me too the first time I heard it but I someone told me it's a line from a rap song that was popular a couple of years ago. Still doesn't make it right, but at least it's legit quote instead of entirely made-up. I can't remember the details but I was told it was dig at Rhianna and she responding by pointing out what you've just said.

IKR! It only gets more absurd and funnier the more time passes. At the time, 11 years ago, I was pretty bummed about losing him, but COME ON, dude!

God, you just triggered me. My NVM ex used to constantly "disagree" with me on facts and when I'd google it to prove it, he'd either sulk and pout for hours or go completely off the deep end with rage and accusations that I was EmAsCuLaTiNg him by not letting him "correct" me with made-up bullshit.

I have literally only known/quasi-dated ONE man in my life who genuinely liked me for my intelligence and enjoyed debating me even when he lost. Unfortunately, his career choice was a deal-breaker and no amount of debate could convince him that being a drug dealer, even a successful and "too smart to get caught" drug dealer was unacceptable. LOL

I'm sorry but these people aren't "kind". Even if you give them the benefit of the doubt that their son's issues stem entirely from early childhood exposure to porn and not from their direct abuse of him (which is unlikely, TBH), simply allowing him to consume that much porn from such a young age for such a long time is CPS-worthy levels of abuse. It's literally a crime and one of the few crimes that CPS takes seriously enough to remove a child from the home even if the family is wealthy and/or …

It took me way too long to realize this. If a guy's overly romantic behavior early on is making you uncomfortable IT'S FOR A REASON. Unfortunately, I was gaslit by Pickmeisha friends and family into thinking I was the one in the wrong for not having the "correct" reaction to love-bombing and so failed to act on my gut feeling that it was a red flag and a good reason to break off contact. I've finally returned to the rules I had all the way back in High School, (before the gaslighting got to me):…

The worst part is that she's not even a SAHM, she just WORKS from home in addition to being the sole caretaker of their child and home, which the scrote clarified in the comments. Just because her asshole husband doesn't respect her job doesn't magically make it "not work". LVMs really do be telling on themselves.

The sad thing is that these people DO invest $ in therapy but therapists for the rich and famous literally tell them that they live in a different world with different values from normies so there's really nothing wrong their obviously unhealthy behaviors and lifestyles. They seriously preach CuLtUrAl ReLaTiViTY to people who earnestly come to them with the intent to get better. It's all so depressing.

I agree about the book club. Seeing the different takes has inspired me to take another look at it with a new perspective. There are some pretty convincing arguments that Darcy is at least a Medium Value Man instead of the LVM I always saw his as.

That's the only interpretation of him that can relieve the anxiety I get about a woman like Lizzie marrying a man like him. Any other explanation for his behavior screams doom for her.

That's the primary reason I could never get behind Mr. Darcy. IRL, men who act like him in the beginning and then "change" when called out don't really change, they just adjust their behavior temporarily until they "have" you, then go right back to being assholes. In Lizzie's case, her accepting that the change is genuine and marrying him is so ridiculously high risk because of the society she lives in and her position in it, that I. Just. Can't. Accept. It. Yes, it would be nice if the story pl…

That's what made this so obviously a bad faith argument. There are legitimate and documented reasons people would be uncomfortable with DiCaprio making nice with young girls. If he'd used a photo of say Chris Rock, chatting up a young girl, that would've completely changed the context, which is why he chose THIS particular person with THAT particular history. He's being sneaky and making the case that it's wrong to be on guard with men who have a history of grooming and we should all just be coo…

My ex step-dad was like this. 5 days a week, he came home from work with flowers/candy for my mom, and some small toy for me and my sisters. Every other Friday, instead of changing out of his work suit, he'd just honk the horn in the driveway for us to come out for our Family Date Night; a trip to Toys 'R Us for a "nice" toy for the kids, a stop at a clothing/accessory store for a gift for Mom, then dinner someplace nice. He's pretty much my only experience with a HVM, and unfortunately I wasted…

You should research the rape statistics for women who serve before you go any further with that.
