This post is not enough information to make a true statement based on it. But something I often observe is that woman go first for the ‘good looking & successful type’ but get treated horribly in the relationship, & afterwards value men who are less conventially attractive, but treat them much better. So my question to you would be - did you treat them well? Did you plan fun dates? Did give them gifts? Did you have fun together? Did you show them attention?

Submissive men are also ‚real men‘. That language is discriminating. While I know what you mean, I‘d like to think that we as women would also prefer to be called real women in all cases, no matter what our preference of lifestyle are.

It sounds to me like a lot of this conversation is happening in your head instead of with your partner. You take clues from him and make up your conclusions in your head. Are you sure he is totally set on the 3-year time line or was this just one example to explain why people give promise rings? Does he know when you would like to get married? Would you have pushed the topic if you did not think his surprise is an engagement ring? In the end, you now told him that you don‘t find his surprise a g…

That‘s concerning. You should be able to bring up a situation like that, without him feeling emasculated. You were not rude or inconsiderate. Also, don‘t be naive, a ‚professional‘ day trader or investor will not invest the money he needs for food. He will trade with the money he has saved up, but should always keep 1-2 monthly salaries for safety reasons. You seem very anxious to upset him.

I like Love Meg and Alexandra Beuter on Youtube. Both are not redpill accounts but rather just homemaking, cleaning, etc. youtubers. But they are fairly traditional, married young, family oriented and very feminine.

We plan to go to a city about 1-hour away to go shopping and test out a new restaurant. My focus for this weekend is just to have fun and tap in my GOFL. Tomorrow we invited my bf’s parents over, which is an opportunity to be a great host and deepen our relationship. Don’t know yet what to cook, any ideas? :)

I don’t think it’s attention - that description would probably fit better to what I am doing e.g. overreacting when I feel sensitive. What he does is more about testing boundaries. He would for example be rude or irritating, just to see if I start to be affected by it. And it’s tricky, on the one side you don’t want to be overly emotional because your spouse does something irritating, but at the other side, at one point you need to say ‘stop’ and set boundaries to show that you are not a doormat…

my spouse definitely does test me, even 7 years into the relationship. Not sure how much of it is fully on purpose and how much he isn’t even aware of himself. But he will definitely do thing that irritate me to see how I react. The same as I start to shit test if I feel neglected and want to see if he comes around. I wouldn’t necessarily say it is playing games, and most of the time we both realize that this behavior is stupid, but we still do little test to see if the other gives in.

Yes, it is insulting to me. Of course it would depend on the context used, how I would take it and if I would speak up against it, but generally speaking, I would be offended if someone calls me a “birthing person”. I get the impression that it reduces myself to an ability of my body. Of course giving birth is an incredible experience and miracle really. But as woman I am so much more than a “birthing person”. Even if I never give birth to a child, I still can be a woman, a mother and a wife.

Have you tried scheduling times for calls? Some people are just not into the whole calling/texting thing all day. Maybe it would help if you schedule a time for a call that he can plan accordingly.

I usually refrain from political discussions online, but I will answer your question, because you seem generally curious. I don’t like to hurt anyones feelings or necessarily change their views. My personal liberal views are not against traditional family building, but more that everyone should choose in their life what works for them. I personally identify as heterosexual and I always was quite typically acting feminine. Therefore a masculine, heterosexual partner fits well with me personally a…

love that advice, thank you! I used to do exactly that on weekends where my SO was away pre-pandemic. Because I was always struggling to find enough time for selfcare. So when I had a weekend to myself, I would pamper myself. Now since working from home, I don’t struggle so much anymore to find the time. I already find the time during the week for “me time” or catching up with girlfriends, that’s how I end up bored on the weekend if he is gone! But I realized it’s all about the mindset. Instead …

Need tips for boredom / loneliness from SAHWs or home office crew. My spouse is going away with a friend for a couple of days and since I have been in home office the last 12 months, I noticed being lonely/bored more often. Before working from home, I never minded if my spouse was away for a weekend or so, but I notice that I get a bit sad staying home alone. I think it’s just too much alone time at home for me. How do you keep busy / enertained?

Beach day sounds wonderful. I had a similar experience with my spouse’s new drone. We wanted to go test it, but it didn’t work. We drove a whole afternoon around for “nothing”. But I decided to keep calm about since it was nice weather and it was a nice afternoon anyway. Old me would have said “why did you not check the manual before?” “You should have brought the 2nd controller” etc. etc. It was much more enjoyable that way.

Hi Marie from France! I am not from France, but from a neighbouring country. I hear what you say. I would consider myself "liberal" in terms of political values, but still wish to have a traditional family and settle down. I actually was very strongly on the career path my early 20s, because I thought that's what I am supposed to do. I still have my career and work full time, but I realised it is not the only goal I have in my life. Although, I think I enjoy having a job where I get to hustle ev…

I agree with what the above author said, but this only holds true if your last message was a complete conversation killer, e.g. something like a “ok” “good” etc. But if your last message was a question or a story to be reacted on, then I would take the hint. If a guy is interested in you, he will reply and ask question, trying to get to know you better. Too many women are waiting for the “guy who is just not that into you” to change and all of a sudden fall for them. If he is stringing you along…

How old is your boyfriend? Does he not want kids yet or never? Hoping he will change his mind is a dangerous game. It will be a dealbreaker in the end and if he is firm on not wanting any children, there is really no point in getting more invested. You should have aligned goals in life.

If you wash «per person», do you not separate whites and darks or underwear from others? I never was able to wash it per person, because there are some cloths that need 30, 40 or 60 degrees. And seperating those for each person seemed inefficient.

Threat is less frequent, but your man can still protect. For example by not letting others speak bad about you, looking out for you on a busy street or helping you by holding your hand in «dangerous» situations (e.g. entering a boat). I also feel protected, if a man takes care of the more dangerous house work (going on the roof, using a ladder, fixing electricity). I also appreciate that my man is usually picking me up if I stay out late at night. I don’t think it has to differ in 2-worker house…

Well, I personally don’t think it has to be 50/50. Some relationships work better with different ratios. Your partner can contribute to your quality of life in different ways, which makes both feel appreciated. If he is a rationale guy, he will understand that you can’t be always on top of everything and work full time, too. But it also doesn’t sound like he is expecting that. Lastly, I’d say don’t over do it in those 6 months you mentioned. Clearly put in effort, but if you outdo yourself, but …

Why are you not asking him? If he is mostly paying for you to live with him and he asked you to move in into his house, ask him what he is expecting from you and what role he is seeing you taking?

I think it’s more important to a man that he enjoys your company when you are both at home than a clean apartment and a cooked meal. Of course, that’s nice too, but it’s more important that you greet him with a smile, have fun together and enjoy each other’s company. Try not to be stressed out about household tasks and don’t nag him about being messy. I’d assume he wants to see in those 6 months if your relationship stays fun and connected or if you turn into a nagging shrew. You can also simply…

I personally prefer it to be disclosed once in a calm and honest manner. Not with too many details, but that the other person is aware of what the past looks like. Basically just to avoid that little droplets of past events come up if you hang out with friends or meet random people on the street etc. I think it’s better if the person is aware than being caught completely off guard, when someone from your friends group makes a comment about the past. You cannot avoid to never talk about the past …

Don’t know if this is too private, but any tips for shaving daily? Whenever I do this, my skin gets easily irritated and dry. I tried to use lotion to avoid it, but it still seems to be irritated by shaving too often. My skin likes to prefer every 3-4 days. Any advice?

I think make up and nails is most often misunderstood. Learning how to do make up and paint your nails does not necessarily mean to wear fake eyelashes, long pink nails and red lips. But of course it can. Most men don’t like the « fake look » but makeup can enhance your natural beauty if used right. I look horrible with too much makeup, but better with natural makeup. Too much colour just doesn’t suit my soft look. What I do is: Concealer under the eyes and blemishes, pouder on T-zone, soft roug…

It’s interesting isn’t it? My partner is a huge traveler. He enjoys traveling for 1-2 months a year and some of it he does alone. I cannot always join him because I have different work commitments and cannot just leave all the time. Also he actually enjoys going alone. A lot of people in our circles are convinced our relationship is going terrible, because he « has the need to leave a month in the year alone » and he leaves me « all alone by myself ». Don’t take their comments too seriously. I grew up with 2 brothers and a dad, who all are very direct and sometimes harsh. Plus, I think family members can be overly critical and see you differently than other people. I will probably always be the goofy little sister to my brothers, never a beautiful, grown woman. Therefore take it with a grain of salt. If we do assume, that it is somewhat true that you have some masculine features, that’s not a problem either. There are a lot of famous woman wi…

Laura Doyle suggests writing down 20 self-care activities for yourself. Sounds like a lot, but it can be small things like having your favorite tea, dancing to your favorite song, write a text message to a good friend etc. Once you have the list, try to do at least 3 a day. I usually try to have a mix of shorter and longer ones, for example: Yoga in the morning, a cappuccino in the afternoon and watching a video by my favorite youtuber later in the evening. This way it’s manageable even on busy …

How does he act and speak about your marriage? In the end, the ring is just a symbol. If he acts like your husband in all other ways, it should not matter that much. Is he proud of your marriage and you as his wife? Is he treating you well? Does he treat you like his wife when together outside etc.? Is there any reason to doubt him as a husband? Otherwise I‘d say focus on what he does (being a committed husband) and not on what he doesn‘t do (wearing the ring).

It might be worth looking at your life outside of your relationship as well. Sometimes when people get a bit unhappy in their life (stress, boredom, hardships, etc.), they notice a shift in happiness and it’s natural to look into your relationship first. BUT it is not your partners responsibility to keep you always happy. You are responsible for your happiness. For example, I notice at myself, I tend to complain more in my relationship if I am stressed, although nothing really changed. I am proj…

I am hoping for marriage in the future. I know it’s not exactly RPW to be together that long before marriage, but we both always agreed that we want to get married at around 30 years old and have children then. In the country we live in, the average marriage age is also super late, people usually only get married at 30-35, not earlier. None of my friends are married yet. But anyway, yes I hope to get engaged in the next 2-3 years :)

Thanks for your comment and I am sure it is meant well, but I actually have to disagree. I don’t think he «clearly has ADHD». He doesn’t have trouble concentrating and isn’t restless. Yes, he doesn’t like if people tell him what to do and is introverted. Doesn’t make him have ADHD though. He also used to go to a child psychologist and was never diagnosed with ADHD. You need to let it go. It’s not worth crying and waiting for somebody who did not like you enough to commit to you or make time for you. It sounds like you are idolizing the relationship you had with him because you could see it turn into this perfect relationship. Are you sure you aren’t just lonely and this is the closest you got to an actual relationship? You need to work on being happy alone. Fix that first and then look for a partner who fulfils your needs too

Thanks for your thoughtful reply! Unfortunately, I don't know his (or mine for the matter) Briggs-Myers personality type, but I saw a lot of references to it. It might be time for me to look into it! I will try to read up on it. Thanks for the inspiration. It sounds like he is not yet ready to make that commitment and I think that‘s reasonable. He is 23 and still studying. I probably wouldn’t want to decide that either at that age. It is big life decision for a new relationship. I mean, if you feel like it is worth it, you can keep dating him, spend a summer together and see in 1-2 years if the commitment to build a life together grew. I think you are both very young to make such decisions already now. The only downside is, that it could end in di…

when those boyfriends said „you don‘t need them“ - did they say financially or not in general? Would you describe yourself as generally the independent kind (busy, lots of interests, likes to be alone too)? Because apart from financially not needing a person, there is also emotionally. I am not suggesting becoming co-dependent or anything like that, but if a person is way more independent than the other, it might make them feel inadequate. And men show emotional depency much more subtle most of …

If someone approaches me and I am not sure yet what they want, I just stay friendly and say thank you if they complement me. If they continue, I might say something like: „well, anyway, I need to keep going“ and if the person really doesn‘t get the hint and asks to meet or my phone number, I just say that I am in happy relationship and I am not interested.
