I love stuff like this. It's really easy to feel like the opposite sex just wants to use you as a paycheck or some sort of autonomous plumbing-fixing door holding machine (or as a cooking cleaning sex-bot as I would imagine many girls feel). It is really heartwarming to know that some people out there appreciate my gender for non-selfish motives. Well, I appreciate you.

The same thing is true from the other side too. My male cousin initially called me a "faggot" multiple times when he saw that I subscribed to this subreddit. When I explained that I did it because, although men have it great in a lot of ways, men have their own gender specific issues and as such we deserve our own specific movement to address them. His response was the typical "Guys don't have issues!". Well, after showing him some posts on here, he is also now an MRA:)

I like how, by that definition, even with consent, the woman is still considered the victim.. So normal sex is “penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, with the consent of the victim.”? Edit: I guess for neutrality, I should say the receiver is always considered the victim. Not necessarily the woman. Although, as we all know, male on male rape is sitcom material. So for any real rape, it is a wom…

yeah it sucks. I was kidding. I was making fun of this forums tendency to follow along with the oppression Olympics trend going around the internet. I don't know if you were serious or not, but why bring race into it? MRA has already shown itsself not capable of not getting butthurt when race is brought into the picture. Dont do it. Im sure left handed black people had it even harder than right handed black people. Knock it off with your who had it worse bullshit.

I agree, empathy does go a long way. I always strive to focus on similarities rather than differences. I think what sasha_ is essentially saying is that, even though you consider yourself feminist, to a lesser or greater extent, your interest seems to be egalitarianism more than feminism. I can appreciate that you, like me, probably previously only associated people fighting for equality as feminism. The one thing I would like to point out is that, feminism has alienated an huge number of men. I…

Although I entirely agree with you panlea, namecalling a troll and using terms that a lot of people consider "anti woman", and "anti homosexual" such as bitch and faggot, and mocking tampons could make people get a sense of misogyny and homophobia in the forum. As I know you know, that is not what this subreddit is about. There are plenty of men and woman, gay, straight or bi, in this forum, and although you aren't using any of those words as attacks to those people, it could still make them fee…

" it based on the idea that both parties are not necessarily equally intoxicated and that a penis needs to be in a certain physical state to be inserted, while a vagina simply has to exist." You are making the point that the guy in control of the penis knows what he is doing, and that the girl is, by nature, completely helpless. Now, I am NOT saying that girls need to try harder to not be raped while they are drunk. I am NOT suggesting that they are doing anything wrong by being passed out. I am…

So you are following right along with the logic that an erection implies consent? You are also residing under the presumption that the man in this instance is the initiator of the sex. What about when the man is passed out drunk? The involuntary flow of blood going to his penis is implying that he has thoughtfully considered the possible implications of having sex with this person? Also, you disregard the fact that the vagina needs to be somewhat wet in order to insert the penis properly. Does t…

I know what you mean. It's just an off putting way of saying it. I am not saying you are wrong. I'm just saying that you spoke of feminism the same way that many feminists speak of MRA's. "MRA's are evil woman hating men who cant understand their own privelage, and patriarchy and something about phallic something." I wouldn't give a feminist who said that a second of my time, and I dont know why a feminist would give you a second of their time. I agree with you, but recognize there are good femi…

That is worded a little extreme. Well... A lot extreme. There are plenty of women that just want equality, and think that feminism is the only way they can fight for that. Please refrain from such blanket statements.

I told a teacher in my elementary class that I was being sexually harassed by a girl in my class and I got in trouble for it! I was literally sent to the principles office and reprimanded. It's sort of amazing how that works.

Sorry my mistake. I was just thinking of the buzzwords that get thrown out a lot. But the same idea applies. For example if it said "straight white male privelage", although not exactly the same. That was wrong on my part tho. Thanks for the clarification.

My intended point literally has nothing to do with which race had it worse. I am making no argument that your race didn't play into your quality of life at those time periods. I am saying that it is not a contest. Also, I understand that the best life you could have as a white male back then was not a coal miner. I'm saying, for average people, born into the lower middle class, a job such as this was what you got in reward for your "White male privelage". Who knows. Maybe you could work in a pap…

You looked for the side of the issue that wasn't mens rights. Also, it's not a contest on whether a group of people I never met had it harder than people you never met. I understand why you feel that way, but understand that there arepeople who flat out tell me my opinion is not valid because of my "CIS White male privelage". There is no difference between a post like this, and that post a while back talking about how some website sad Black males are automatically rapists. Should I have had a fi…

(To everyone up in arms about the fact that this notes the color of their skin) Yes, because one post by one random person can speak for this entire subreddit. If you noticed, he said he threw this together real quick, and thought we would appreciate it. He never said he made it for this subreddit, so why would you expect that it solely deal with MR issues? He was probably talking to some radical feminist or something about his "CIS white male privelage" and proceeded to make this. He probably m…

Okay, I am glad to here that you think that way! I personally feel the exact same way. It's just that I have personally seen nearly the exact same thing happen, in the inverse of this scenario, and the guy who was trying to buy a girls love so to speak, was viewed as pathetic, self entitled, perverted failure. Where as the girl in that scenario was completely innocent. Even tho she too accepted gifts and played off of emotions. Nobody viewed her as somewhat wrong at all. That is what I have seen…

I see. Never considered that. Very good advice and I will consider that for use in my relationship haha. I just have a problem with someone who will accept gifts, that, as you mentioned, reek of entitlement. I personally know girls who i know liked me and tried to buy me things. (I must live in a weird part of the world) But when you see what they're doing, you should decline their offer. I do completely understand that what my cousin did was childish and desperate, I don't believe she was "bad"…

I completely agree with what you're saying, and I agree it is most certainly not just the guys fault. Just understand that the way i worded it cant really do it justice. He KNEW what he was doing. He'd give her just enough attention to stay hooked. It was on purpose, and nothing i can type now will give the same understanding of it as seeing it first hand. It was on purpose. but this really isnt about the specifics of that. Just about how they are so quick to call the 19 year old guy a user, but…

Its the idea that people will play into someones fantasy, and take all they can get from them, but if it's a guy who got hurt, he is "sexist" for thinking he can just buy a relationship, but if its a girl, the guy just used her. but yeah she went waaaay overboard and everyone tried to stop her.

It's not that her methods weren't wrong, It's the fact that more-so than I could ever describe in this post, he knew that she was head over heals for him, and played her. Positively. No doubts about it. I'm really not trying to get too into the specifics of it, but trust me when I say that she genuinely cared for this kid soo much, and he made it seem as if he cared for her the same way, and with no remorse did he throw her away after he realized he couldn't get any more from her. They are, and holy hell you really love to read into things dont you. Listen theres no point in furthering this argument any more so, as it is accomplishing nothing. If you want to believe that saying masculine qualities are virtues means that they're better than feminine ones, or that a masculine man "is a better person" than one with few masculine qualities. I don't know what else I can say to make you understand that i'm not saying having masculine qualities makes you a better person. All im …

you addressed one tiny aspect of my comment. There is no reason to forward this any further, because you are clearly just stirring up arguments. If you read my comment and came to the conclusion that I'm saying that a masculine man is a "better person" than a non masculine man, then I seriously have to question your reading comprehension.

Masculine characteristics are virtues.. To men.. Feminine characteristics are Virtues.. To women.. For instance, a mustache and beard on a man: Great! A mustache and a beard on a woman: Socially unacceptable. A dress on a woman: Great! A dress on a man, Socially unacceptable. or honestly, those characteristics are virtues to people who identify themselves with that gender role. The text is not implying that masculine traits are better in any way, just that they aren't flaws which must be removed…
