While I agree with your overall message, I disagree with your reasoning. You should never go into a relationship expecting that it will fail like this. For your situation, maybe things worked out, however you probably shouldn't have been in that relationship to begin with. You should continue to be yourself and do the same things you did before you started dating, because that's who you are, and in the end that's who the girl was attracted to in the first place. You should really be doing it for…

Take your time, I'm the same way. I had to accept it and realize that I wasn't getting with any girls until I knew I was ready. Sounds like you need to do the same, I've got you marked for three past upvotes on here (which is a lot by my standards), so clearly you know what you're doing you just have to realize that there are mandatory stages post-breakup and if you try to skip by them too quickly you're going to feel bad about yourself for no reason.

Thanks man, but now I'm going to expect a reward every time I post in here, going against the whole point of this thread haha. Nah I'm kidding of course. Glad I could help

Habits take time to break, this one is especially hard because it's been (I'm guessing) formed for the last 20 years. You really just have to keep telling yourself that your old behaviour is no longer acceptable with yourself whenever you notice it, and eventually that natural reaction will stop. I'm almost done breaking out of that one, it's taken a long time. A lot longer than I would have ever hoped, but progress has definitely been made.

I made eye contact, but no more than anyone else in the bar really (but yeah, if he was shy this probably would have made him a bit more scared). I really have no interest helping those that won't help themselves, however had he joined us I would have helped him as much as I could. It wasn't too long ago that I can still remember being in his shoes.

While I can understand that point of view, you can definitely tell the difference between a guy there to simply enjoy himself, and a guy who finally made the step to actually go out by himself in hopes of talking to a few new people. This guy was definitely the latter, and why my letter was directed to him (and anyone else like him).

It's pretty hard and especially age dependent to get with a girl you've been friends with for a long time. Play that one slow, it's not going to happen overnight. Your better option is to just look around, because there are lots of women out there that will be good for you. Question two, learn how to flirt, don't be afraid to touch, long eye contact, etc. There's a fine line you have to walk here though because too much or doing it the wrong way can be creepy.

Sounds like you just need to learn how to not let people walk all over you. I'm the same by nature and as soon as I grew a backbone and stopped putting up with the shit people threw at me life got a lot better. But, use that to your benefit when talking to women. A lot of them can smell the douchebags out from a mile away, you're still going to have a chance with these beauties. Just make them laugh and learn to touch without being given express permission.

What's important and what's hardwired don't necessarily have to be the same thing. I don't see any reason why it would be important anyway though. Sex is very much an animalistic thing, and modern day cheating and infidelity would assume that mate fidelity is not hard-wired into women.
/r/seduction26/11/13 05:56 PM

People worked in groups back then to survive and thrive. The selfish behaviour we see in modern times hasn't been around long enough to inspire any kind of hard-wiring.

Yeah, the part about men might be true (for most of us), however the part about women being "hard-wired"? That's total BS, that's society talking not genetics.

Hold on, why would a caveman care if the woman he's about to fuck has slept with 1 or 100 other cavemen before?

The ones that smile at you, you should be approaching. The others you can still approach, but them looking away means nothing. Could mean they are intimidated, could mean they don't want anything to do with you, could mean they find you hot and they get nervous.

Here's a better lesson that you should have learned from that: Everything works sometimes. Biggest problem with what your co-worker did: He didn't build anything at all with her. She has no reason to actually want to show up to a date with him now. (Again, it might happen, everything works sometimes.) Best thing for you to do from now on? Combine both of your methods. Don't waste 30-40 minutes of her time, make her laugh once or twice, grab the number, and gtfo.

Holding the door open will only work if she's already into you. Complimenting her physical appearance is only good rarely, and I only ever do it later (like after a few weeks) or during sex. Asking permission to touch her? Weird, don't do that. I've only ever bought a girlfriend a gift. So, I don't know what you're asking..? Does that answer your question?

Definitely not how it works. What the girl is eating up is the guy's attitude. He's being fun, laughing, and is speaking to her on an emotional level. Forget what he's actually saying, it means nothing. Go try and call a girl a bitch with a deadpan stare, you're going to either get slapped or ignored.

I have a crazy suggestion for you. Go move away to another country (doesn't need to be permanent). Don't expect that void to be filled right away. It's better to NOT fill it with another girl, I made that mistake once already. First you have to be happy being single. I'm in a similar situation right now (minus the LTR ending). My job gives me no fulfillment, my friends and I hang out every now and then, but I need something different than what they have to give. I moved away twice before, and it…

Not everything needs a response, this is one of those times I'd just ignore what she said and continue on. Why be so mean to her? That just shows the kid inside of you and now she definitely doesn't regret it anymore.

Keep that friend around, honest people are tough to come by these days and a slap in the face like that is exactly what you need right now. Now, start with little things. Take control of small situations that don't matter. Don't WAIT for the girls to make it completely obvious or even make the first move. Start making the first move. Maintain control of yourself at all times, if you don't like the way someone's treating you don't let them do it. Thank your friend for being that honest with you a…

Haha, actually the girl who took my virginity thought I was lying about being a virgin. So, I have a theory that if you allow the animal inside you to take over, you will be pretty good in bed. But that's just a theory based on one person's experience. And yes, your addition is definitely good advice too
/r/seduction11/09/13 11:03 PM

Don't bother lying, there's no point. You have to embrace the facts first though, there's nothing wrong with starting out later in life (I did too). Act like you know what you're doing (remember, you're an animal after all, this shit comes naturally if you let it) It's only going to be weird if you let it be weird, forget that you've never done it before and just jump right in and hold nothing back.

I'm going to go ahead and throw a wrench in this whole "debate" and say it's completely pointless. Why? Because the words you say matters for about 15% of your success, and anyone out there who is good at this will tell you the same. Stop concentrating on WHAT these guys are saying and start concentrating on HOW they say it. Hell yeah ugly guys can make up for it by buying nice things for the girl, but that's far from the only way they can do it. I have a couple ugly friends who keep bringing around some of the best looking girls and I could never understand it, and I can guarantee you they don't buy them anything or be any nicer to them than they are anyone else.

The fact that this post is so upvoted just goes to show how easy it is to spew garbage on this subreddit as long as you word it properly and act superior. Your looks do matter, and your OPINION of how you look matters even more. If you think you look like an ugly piece of shit, how well do you think that's going to go over with a girl? I'll give you a hint; not very well. If, on the other hand, you accept how you look and have no problem with it your success will come a lot easier. Not to mentio…

Depends on the girl, but "enjoying the college experience" comes in a lot of different forms. Some people like to have the typical single experience, some enjoy a good solid relationship. I have a feeling you're both thinking the same thing right now, "it's better this way" when neither of you actually want it to end like this. I really hope this isn't the case though and you used some good solid HONEST communication. You'd be surprised how good skype sex can actually be when you have a bond lik…

She doesn't want him to stop her, but I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted something still. I'm terrible about stuff like this personally, once I find a girl I really like I don't let go. Had one long distance relationship in the past and I'm finding myself in another here pretty soon probably.

I just finished chatting to the front desk receptionist in my hotel about what there is to do in the city I'm in. Just talk to whoever you want and ask whatever you need to. When you're a foreigner it's the easiest excuse possible. I find that framing things in a positive way almost always trumps framing things in a negative way. Off the top of my head, I probably would have said something like, "you know what, she actually hardly even said a word!" I personally think it was too soon to say something like that. Nothing wrong with your opener, openers don't need to be spectacular, she's going to forget how you opened her in a few seconds anyway. You did make a few mistakes, but not as many as you think you did. The two that made me cringe was the excited bicep grab and calling her friend a total bitch. Ouchhhh. Just sounds like you picked the wrong girl to talk to, keep at it and don't be afraid to bail quickly if they don't at least be slightly warm to you

Not true, if one of my friends wanted to date my ex I'd be ok with it (in the situation described). I, however, am incredibly laid back and it takes a lot to piss me off. So take that with a grain of salt and judge your situation on the type of friend you have. I'd personally say in this situation it would be fine for most guys. You had nothing going on with her back when they dated, plenty of time has passed, he's moved on, he's not a close friend anymore, etc. I would ask him right now though.…

Just have some fun man, that's what life's about. I love these types of girls just because I'm the competitive type and if they can keep up I'll play with them all night just to watch them get desperate. In the end, they aren't the girls I actually go for. I go for the real girls, the ones with a real personality, down to earth, etc. I just find it fun.

Define who you want to become in 5 years and work toward that. Find a role-model, hang out with people who make your life better. Avoid negative people. You can also work on your outward appearance, dress better, work out, keep clean, etc.

Very good read, I'm partially in the advanced category for now and partially integrated. I've started to realize a lot of the things that need to happen for me to become integrated, and reading this only really solidifies that. I've definitely thought about leaving the community, and for the most part I have. I still like to help the newbies though, someone helped me get to the point where I am so I'll pass it on.

Like the other guys said, just be honest with her. The whole casual/non-committed thing is not working for you anymore? Time to talk to her about what you want. If she leaves, it's better now than later when you've developed more feelings. Always remember that shit usually just doesn't happen the way you want it, you gotta push it along. It's not healthy to stay in something if you're both not putting in the same effort with the same expected outcome. And yes, I am talking from experience haha

Travel was the biggest one for me. Moved away on my own to a city 2 days drive away for 4 months. Best summer ever, so I moved to Australia for a year, again by myself. I get stuck in a terrible rut if I don't forcefully challenge myself regularly. Working out, you don't need big muscles but get your body to a point where you feel good about it. Forget the girl is there, how would you respond to him if it were just you two? As soon as you take what he says to heart, you lose. If you don't care and either ignore it if you can't think of anything good to say, or amplify as others have said, you will win. Honestly, I do this with my friends sometimes too, not trying to be a dick but I know they are witty when there are no girls present so I don't understand where that goes when the girl is there. Agreed with your main point, disagreed with how you text. Asking her what she's doing is boring. Asking her what she's wearing might be ok. Telling her you're wearing a sexual outfit is weird. Ambiguity is excellent, making her wonder if what you said is sexual or not is always a go to for me once she feels comfortable. "I'm about to get nekkid and hop into the shower" is not ambiguous at all, that's straight up telling her what you're after. Let her mind do the wandering on it's own. If she's b…

I like how you try and give me advice after I tell you I've never been rejected / can't remember the last time since it's been so long... Clearly, flirting in texts works. You just need to figure out how to do it. In fact, I texted (and was flirting with) a girl most of today that I have only met once, and only briefly. We're meeting up next week, and chances are fairly good we will run into each other this weekend too.

Sounds like you need to take a step back. I'd be willing to bet you're coming on too strong and making them feel uncomfortable. Too much eye contact, too much touching, not leaving enough space between you and the girl, etc. I knew a guy like this. He would always stand around 5 inches too close to the girl, stare instead of making eye contact, etc.
/r/seduction27/02/13 03:40 PM

Well put. I've been wondering why other guys around here seem to think texting is the devil. I'm the same way, fun and flirty in person, fun and flirty in text. I've never been rejected upon texting after meeting a girl for the first time (either that or it's been so long since it's happened that I can't remember).

I have the same problem sometimes. And yes, obviously we do care about them, but we care about everyone. I personally don't want to hurt anyone ever. I don't think he's exactly asking how he can stop caring about them because I personally think that won't happen. It's more how can he feel ok with hurting the girls. Recently I've been getting a lot better with it, I think it's partly because I was actually "dumped" (so to say) by one of these girls. Why? Because my heart wasn't in it. I knew my h…

Rapport has less to do with how far you got, and more to do with the tone of conversation and how comfortable she feels with you. Kissing on the cheek is just as good as on the lips, it's the other stuff you did that will determine if she wants to see you again or not. This obviously differs between countries though, I'm assuming a Western culture.

Well obviously I can't know exactly how the situation unfolded, but the other girls don't even have to be there. Maybe another one of the girls badmouthed you, you have no way of knowing. But, from what I read you need to employ a bit more push and less pull. Push once, pull once, push once, pull once.
/r/seduction23/02/13 08:43 PM

They're girls. They talk. One says something, they all agree, the next one escalates it a bit, they all agree, and so on. But, that generally only happens if you do something to make her feel uncomfortable and the other girls see it.
/r/seduction23/02/13 06:17 PM

From the sounds of it, your issue was forcing something to happen that wasn't going to happen. She says she's going to the club and wants to meet you there? Tell her and her friend to join you in your room because you're going there later. Tell her that only ONCE and once only. You're forgetting to be indifferent. Chances are they talked all the way to the club and made it into a bigger deal than it actually was. You need to push and pull, all I read was pull.
/r/seduction23/02/13 04:27 PM

Yeah, that's the whole point. Nobody remembers all these canned responses word for word (or at least I hope not), they're just building their knowledge of what types of things work in what situation and how far you can push it with a girl.

They're good for learning. It's like anything, you learn with examples and fill in the blanks when a real situation comes. Not everyone can be spontaneously humorous on the spot just because you tell them to be.

You're not going to get a good answer for this one. I figure as long as things are advancing in the right direction, keep at it. If things kind of stop and aren't as interesting as things with another girl, bail out. Depends what you're looking for too. Looking for a one night stand? One night (duh). Long term girlfriend? A few weeks is fine.

This can also be said for anything that breaks you out of your comfort zone. Most people get stuck in a routine, breaking away from that and doing something different does a lot for you as a person. Then, in the future you can much more easily break from your routine of not talking to that pretty girl and actually talk to her. I think the reason you had an easier time talking to people was because of this, not because of the fact that you care less. You still care, but since you're already way o…

Because you need something to talk about. You can't have communication without using words. Well, you can, but it's a lot more difficult. Interesting topics bring out more in your non-verbal communication than a boring topic would. I can make a girl laugh by telling her what cereal I had in the morning; just by using the right words and the right way of saying it.
/r/seduction11/02/13 03:06 AM

Depends what she thinks of you. If she looks away like she doesn't want you looking at her, find a different girl. If her eyes linger and you catch her looking at you, you're golden.

Have fun, do your thing. Make eye contact and don't look away. After you do this a couple times, go over and talk to her. Talk to her for a bit. Go back to having fun. Go talk to her again later. She would have noticed you doing your own thing, having fun. She will be waiting for you to go over and talk to her. You get over your instincts by actively making a change, not hoping for a trick. Clearly you have self discipline if you're starting a business, so use that in other aspects of life too.

I was going to make a similar post about this soon, but you did a waaaay better job than I ever could. One thing I find really useful is actually verbally saying "I'm not your friend" in a kind of surprised way. Is negging a term used to insult a girl? If so I totally agree with you. I always thought it was to banter back and forth, if she says something you can poke fun at, then poke fun at it. That works wonders for me, but I never ever insult a girl

This is soooo not true, I don't know why so many of you believe this. I've had girls I meet once text me for over two weeks while I'm away or something, then show up for a date when I get back. It's not hard! Seriously, just use the same shit you would use in person, be fun, flirty, and clever. Avoid serious conversations or standard "what do you do?" stuff. Just because you can't keep a girl interested over text doesn't mean there's no "text game."

You're just going to have to get over it. The cards have been dealt, and you got what you consider to be an ugly face. I'm not sure how old you are, but this should come with time. Most women have been with or around enough guys to realize that looks aren't what they are looking for. I think the problem here is you shutting yourself down and disqualifying yourself before you talk to the girl. My guess is you have better luck with women when you're not trying to pick them up.

I was about to post something along these lines. Looks matter to the point where you don't want to be sloppy. Having good facial structure makes it easier to get with the girl, but in the end it isn't going to have much of an impact if you do everything to demonstrate you're a quality man.

True stuff, continue being confident, but you have to let her in slowly (key word here is slowly). Continue being fun, playful, flirty, etc. It's a gradual shift from you now, to you in a relationship. Don't do it instantly or she will be confused and put off. Every now and then with my gf ill throw in some of the good stuff i learned when picking up girls, and I can confidently say it will backfire HARD sometimes haha. Pick and choose what you continue doing.

You don't have to be alpha to get what you want. I'm definitely not alpha, but I still find a way. Don't force yourself to be something you're not. Be "alpha" in your own way. For example, strong silent types - those people don't mess around and nobody messes with them.

Contrary to popular belief in here, no it is not absolutely necessary. Eventually yes, you are going to want to touch her and touching her is kind of a requirement eventually. In my opinion, it just makes things much easier. I've had many success stories without using kino at all, it's actually how I prefer to do things. Always remember that advice and upvotes in here are done mostly by people who have done nothing but read about pickup and they think you have to do everything by the book. Alway…

Hey, we've known each other for a while now, why don't I have your number yet? Not everything has to be perfect and guaranteed, sometimes you just gotta do normal things.

Your statements are too general, this may be true for you, but maybe you simply can't text (especially if your example is one of your own). I don't know your age, but for people my age (I'm 23) texting works great. I build excitement, and everything else you can do in a phone conversation. You just need to learn to use each medium of communication in it's own way. You know they can't hear your tone via text? So put in something that could have a double meaning and let them guess which one you me…

You're forgetting that dating isn't about one person trying to impress another. If you want a girl who is going to hold a conversation with you but she's not, this is an easy way to see if she actually can. It helps speed up the dating process, for both people.

I like the line, "gee, you're not much of a talker eh?" with one of your flashy smiles to go along with it. The girl usually opens up a lot more and helps with the conversation.

Move on bud, you have too many doubts to continue in this relationship. You will take a long time to be happy with her again, if ever. Unless you can trust her, your relationship isn't worth it.

Haha, I got what you meant. It's kinda funny actually, his is more "be a good person by doing these things" and yours is more "its your fault if she cheats, unless you do these things" Even though the core message is the same, the wording makes a huge difference

I'll add to this one... What I like to do in clubs is find a girl, then when you're dancing put your forehead closer to hers. Then slowly get closer until your foreheads are touching. Once your foreheads are touching you will be able to "feel" if she wants to kiss you or not. The best way I can describe the "feel" is if they angle/move their mouth slightly more towards yours. It's pretty obvious though, won't be much trouble figuring it out!

Don't smother her, give her space. Depending on how much you've tried contacting her already, give her 4-7 (or more if you REALLY tried hard to contact her) days of no contact. Her phone could just be broken afterall.

Don't be afraid to start with the boring stuff, "what do you do," "what do you study," etc... Build a little comfort, get to know who she is a bit. Then start working off what she says. Throw in some jokes, poke fun, etc.

You can definitely take a laid back approach. The reason everyone says to be loud and the centre of attention is basically for the reason of numbers. The more girls that see you, the more chances you have for one to be interested. I personally take a laid back approach, talk to one or two people at a time making new friends and not trying to pick up yet, move around the crowd a bit meeting as many people as I want, then go back to the people I find interesting later in the night. Then focus on o…

Hard to say if you're too in intense over the internet, but if you give firm eye contact without staring into their soul you should be fine. Women respond to different things than guys do. Pay attention to what girls laugh at, mostly things like stories that trigger emotions. Try working that stuff into your conversations with women to get them to laugh. It's a lot easier to make a woman laugh if you give off an energetic, fun vibe with your tone and body language.

Well, she likes you, that's for sure. Either that or she's stringing you along for some reason. Tell her to give you 3 date/times that she's free. Pick one and go with it. If she doesn't show to that, then wait a while before trying again.

A lot of guys seem to think they have their one chance and if they blow it, game over. Not true at all, try again. Oh, and chances are if she stayed alone with you at 4AM, she was looking for you to make a move.

People will notice you more and recognise you. Don't stare them down or anything, give them a smile if they look back. Establishes that you're a friendly person and makes things a lot easier when meeting new people because they already recognise you and have a feeling that you're approachable. You're not losing anything by maintaining eye contact and smiling, if anything it will brighten their day a bit.

Do everything except lead (unless you like shy boys), use hints instead. Eye contact, body language, proper situational tone, sarcasm, slyness, etc.. Those all work wonders on us men too.

Your best bet is to learn to dance, just have fun with it. I'm a terrible dancer but I make sure the girl has fun with me. Second option, go the route of "I don't dance with girls I don't know" and get to know her. Then when she thinks you know her well enough just say you lied and you actually just don't dance at all and laugh haha

The obvious answer that you already know and just want someone to tell you - keep trying. Four failures is nothing, especially if some of them were K-closes.

Try making quick decisions, give yourself a window of 3 seconds to make a decision and stick to it. Some of your most fun adventures will come from terrible decisions. You'll get used to it, I used to need that feeling of 100% satisfaction with decisions before I would accept them. Life is a lot more fun when you wing it and fly by the seat of your pants, try it for a bit.

Ahh yes, at first I read this as a great idea (because it is) but I can see other people's interactions go something like this: her: "buy me a drin-" guy: "Ok! but here are the rules" Just remember to do something before throwing in the conditions to make it look uncanned. For example, look at her confused for a second, look away and look like you're thinking about it for a few seconds, look her up and down, cooly confirm, and continue! That should work nicely :)

What are you asking? If the girl you like is in another country you're guna have to forget about her. Clearly the indication of disinterest is the fact that they have boyfriends, not that they are offering facebook over phone numbers. They want to be friends not fuck buddies, as should you.

Ignore her for a bit, hang out with some different girls, and come back later if you still want to and start fresh. Key is to hang out with different girls, there's more than one of them on this planet

In all honesty, the best way to do it is definitely to just get out there and experience it. You can read all you want, but until you actually get out there it means near nothing. I personally had to force myself into situations where I had to meet new people, where I had to make new friends. I moved overseas, lived in hostels for a little while, then lived in the college dorms here (an alternative if you're not in college would be to get a public facing job).

Calling or texting depends on the age (I'm assuming). If you guys are relatively young, texting is just fine. I'd make plans 3, maybe 4 days in advance. 5 is usually a bit many. Keep her occupied with light/fun texting until then. It's ok to ask her if she knows of any other cool places since you're not from there, but if she can't think of any or doesn't want to make a decision don't pressure her. Just have fun with it, try not to be nervous, pick a place that you will both be comfortable at, i…

It doesn't even have to be very inappropriate at all, remember how you acted around girls when you were younger? For some reason that seems to work well for me. Just be fun, playful, energetic, innocent, etc. For example, when you go to the washroom, after you wash your hands don't dry them and when you come back to her put your hands on her face and depending on the mood before you left say something like "hey beautiful :P" or just "hey, hows it goin?" and chuckle when you do it. I do that one …

There's a happy medium between texting too much and not texting enough. Just because she's responding positively doesn't mean you should instantly be asking to see her. I frequently use text as a way to converse with a girl before I take her out anywhere. I keep it light though, just enough to let her get a feel for my sense of humour and keep me in the back of her mind until it feels right to ask to meet her in person. As for OP, you're definitely right my friend. Don't ever try to keep a dying…

Laughter is your best friend! Use it, make them laugh. Say things that are just a little inappropriate, make them give you that "wtf did you just say?!" look, then give em a slight smile. I personally avoid the light touching and all that because it feels too forced for me. An easy way to get down to the emotional level is with friends. If you get excited about something that happened, don't be afraid to express it and give your friend a big high five and grin (doesn't even have to be a female f…

Ignore your feelings for the co-worker, that never turns out well unless one of you is temp. I personally moved away from my home setting before I found confidence in myself. Not saying you need to do that, but that's what I needed to do before I was good with women. Throw a wrench in the gears and do something you wouldn't normally do, just get out of the house when you're not at work. Go for a hike, go indoor rock climbing, go for a walk in the dog park if you have a dog, hell, join a book clu…

Just going off on a limb here, but your body language might be a huge factor in this one. Usually intense people are always leaning in and staring you down. Try taking a step back, if you're sitting down, lean back in your chair. Relax the muscles around your eyes and try not to give that "intense stare." Drop your shoulders a little if it looks like you're constantly holding them up. Speak half as much.

Text her, keep it light, playful, not too serious, and not too frequently. Try not to directly ask her out in this situation, at least not right away. Say you're doing xyz on Thursday, and if she's free she can join you. Don't be too afraid that she will forget about you, even if you text her every 3-4 days if she's busy she will probably still be interested in hanging out when she's free. You're right not to call that a rejection, that's not a rejection at all my friend! You just gave up a little quick (that's totally ok though since it was your first time!) You just surprised her, she got flustered and didn't know what to say. Even if the girl thought you were really cute you would have gotten the same response 9 times out of 10. Texting is a fantastic way to BUILD on what you already have. Don't text too often, and don't use it to get to know her. Keep conversation light, don't try to get to know her over text. Tease her, don't wait by the phone expecting a response, get her to laugh. That's at the start, eventually you will be able to text her however you want, but keep it light at the start. Keeps you in her mind
