I thought it was good. It took me time to read and begin to digest, but that's good stuff. Thank you.

My amazing husband is amazing. :D He puts up with regular disrespect from his mother, who he works with; he has one degree but is pursuing another to be a bigger bread-winner; he is helping us get to a new place away from demeaning, boundary-pushing relatives to become our own family; he has chosen to pursue TRP and dig deeper into the philosophy that makes our society as it is. This has caused/allowed me to grow so much too. AND he refuses to waste his time with porn and wants to raise our sons…

I agree with you, in part. So... how does one remedy this problem of slow maturity? I discovered very young some maturity I had to have as the eldest of five then six kids with a sick mom. I'm glad for it. I wish I had kept growing like that. It's harder when there's not that kind of motivation, but... I'm suggesting, I suppose, that while maturity is slow these days, the solution is to give more responsibility to force some growing-up.

I have another one! I know because I'm always doing it and always regret it... Don't trash-talk his female relatives unless he initiates, and then only for a minute.

So you think that because some (not all) women vote with their emotions, none should be allowed to vote? Do you also think there should be restrictions on which men vote? Men who have been convicted of crimes? If a man has committed a crime of passion, isn't that a clear signal that he's not rationally based? Yes and yes. See my other comments. I'm talking about a utopia, the way things were originally enacted by our founding /fathers/. How do you define "a crime of passion"? And would you survi…

Unless you live in a compulsory democracy, you don't have to vote. Do you think it's reasonable that women aren't allowed to vote at all? I do enjoy the username in light if this conversation. :) Since women fiercely fought for their right to screw the politics of the United States, I will vote against all stupid female policies until women are eradicated from the political system altogether. It's not that I have a problem with women: they /generally/ only make and vote for policies based on emo…

Why does not having the choice, and I'm not even talking about a requirement to state an opinion or cast a vote towards the direction you want your government's political state to go in not appeal to you? You would rather go back to the time when you didn't even have that ability or option? Please explain why No, no, no: I never said it appealed to me. I said I don't have a problem with it. I wouldn't have a problem with land-owning men making the critical decisions for our country (aka voting a…

I'm sorry: what was your answer to why it's a problem to return to pre-suffrage status?

Odd... As a female, I have no qualms about returning to pre-suffrage state. What is your problem with that idea?

Top Gear. The Patriot. Desert Fox. Old war movies. John Wayne. There were movies before political correctness, but most are pretty old. Total War computer games. Kerbal Space Program. Manly, inspiring things. Legos are good too. Woodworking. Sculpting. Gardening. Cooking ribs (grilling, if possible). Camping. Edit: Reading, check out... 48 Laws of Power. King of Kings, by Harry Sidebottom, part of an entire series. C.S. Lewis. The Prince. Philosophy.

I've found that I've lost a lot of friends and struggle to make new ones because they'll probably reject me at some point. But, coming from a similar philosophical background as you, I've also found that older married women make the best friends, post-red pill thinking. I get so angry at women being so stupid as to be the AWALT men talk about. I want to be considered better than THAT! But... You and I are sinful, and it is wise of us to recognize that and how much it hurts those we love, to seek…

I'd pay real money to give you reddit gold... It's not an original concept (I think C.S. Lewis said it better?), but letting go is the hardest thing to do, but when we do, we wonder why it took so long.

Thank you for everything you have said! Even if the comment has been deleted, we get the idea of what that woman said. You're missing the point - you don't change your husband. You can't convince, force, or help him to do things differently if he has no inclination to be anything other than the person he is right now. 1 Peter 3:1-6. Sorry if Bible references are a turn-off, but you are exactly right. Women are to demonstrate their right thinking through acts of love. This can encourage their men…

I think... Learning social cues is something to strive for. Observing others (of all ages) interact might be most useful for you. Awkward is not fun, but be able to laugh at and evaluate yourself for the next opportunity. The thing about life is that you make mistakes: how you handle them determines what kind of person you become.

We tried to have an epic bbq, although family insisted on some traditional stuff and we listened for some reason. Cost about $7k. Twist: woman paid all but $1.5k herself. Edit: we did ask wedding party members to pay probably $100 each for the nonsense matching stuff. That wasn't necessary.

If a woman considers a man like her brother, then, does that increase the possibility of actual love?

You're right. I think the issue here is her immaturity, which at least she recognizes and wants, it seems, to remedy, before marrying. The other is her wanting to focus on a job. We know that women at work do not mature: sometimes they get worse. (I'll freely admit that I'm obnoxious because I'm frustrated with my job. My husband has been making me take baths when we get home so I chill out. What a concept for me...) I think our Aussie friend is embracing feminism and then mad that we don't agre…

I'm sorry that's the only solution. But hey: TRP is about understanding facts so you know how to deal with the hand you have been dealt. I pray and do my best to quell emotion in discussions so that I prevent my husband from feeling this way. But I'm certain every man gets frustrated in communicating with women. I think that's part of The Curse. Women do indeed irrationally snipe. Good luck in your endeavors, gentlemen. I wish you the best in TRP: it's been great for us.

You're right. It was harsh. But I don't understand what you're saying. It sounds like you disagree with me yet are coming to the same conclusion as me about why she's decided to wait until late 20s. Am I being dense?

We women do fight dirty. It's pathetic and requires turning off our brains (if we have any) or just letting emotions control our words: the same thing, really. I catch myself doing it, sometimes too late, and generally have to go back and apologize for being irrational. Sometimes my husband catches me doing it and challenges me on it. It's a way of fighting that's unfortunate. The solution is recognition of the problem by at least one person, as you seem to have. Call women out on it: they /shou…

You are right: I shouldn't talk in absolutes. But let's be honest: women should not wait for later twenties to get married if they can marry as early as late teens/early twenties. It sounds to me like OP just wants to ride the cock carousel while keeping a beta bux bf around. But I'm jumping to conclusions based on OP's Reddit profile.

Yep. This one is a troll. Keep it to the relationships subreddit where you started, please. No true RPW thinks she can wait to get married. As TRPers say, men age like wine: women like milk. Edit: OP is a troll; not you, gem guy.

That's just bullshit. More serious girlfriend doesn't actually mean anything specific. What exactly do you want from the relationship? Figure out what you want before rusting his balls with stupid titles. Bingo. You need to define "more serious" for yourself and him. It sounds like your definition is moving in together. Just because he doesn't want to take that "step" doesn't mean he's not "serious". My husband and I didn't live together before the wedding where we committed or lives to each oth…

When I saw that post, my first question was, are they trying to steal his money? There is no inherently good woman just trying to lend a hand. Only ulterior motives. Thanks for pointing it out.

...I am my husband's co-worker. Sometimes he needs a break from more than comfort from me. Especially when we drive to and from work in our one car. :P To be serious, I'm trying to implement something: I consider myself just being "honest" when I say harsh things. I need to stop that. While our men aren't children, we need to treat their egos as if they are. Speak the truth in love. We forget the love part... Only say the hard things when it MUST be said to fix the problem!

But someone has to initiate litigation. I work in a law office: the number of women who come to us with stupid slip and falls is incredible. They just want to sue someone for their own mistakes. Litigation is not inherently evil.

...her re-election campaign... Well, there you go: a woman judge tearing down and apart a man. What if this country's justice system was actually just and there was a man and a woman judge assigned to each case? They would never agree, you say? Maybe a reasonable compromise would be met though...

It always gets complicated if you're going for a LTR, which was all I was going to be too any man. You mean you weren't plate material, or you mean you insist on relationships escalating to LTR quickly? I mean I was never going to be plate material AND if I was going to be in a relationship, if it was going anywhere, it was LTR: I expected a man to be discussing marriage once we decided we were compatible. What was the point of it otherwise? (Husband and I met when I was 18 and breaking up with …

My SO(23M) and I (21F) have been together for almost 3 years now. Are you engaged yet or at least discussing it? You've been together long enough to have decided something by this time. I understand he probably wants to have a better plan for his money-making future before proposing, but have you made it clear that you'll stand behind him 100% while he works toward it? It's rough when your guy doesn't have clear direction, and your guy will know that. After a year of conversation, we have decide…

Female here. (Warning given not for attention but so you know an outsider is commenting. Guys need a forum where they can be guys, and I try to not comment often.) But know that I met my husband because he did all this with me. He wasn't trying to impress or catch anyone. He actually hadn't succeeded with any female before me. (For which I'm grateful.) It just worked for us, although things got complicated with my over-bearing parents. It always gets complicated if you're going for a LTR, which …

Missing our grandfathers' advice has hurt us more than anything else. I was blessed by my grandmother's rather caustic commentaries of girls these days, but TRP is only necessary today because we weren't taught by the generations before (or the teaching didn't also address the poison of newfound feminism).

I'm curious: what does a girl need with a good male role model? That would indicate she's trying to be like any male. ...is that what we as RPW are working toward? I'm still feeling this all out. :) (Pun intended.) Note: sister-in-law is youngest child of four children, with happily married parents, and a father who's far more involved in HER life than any of the older siblings. My other question is this: my MIL HATES how my husband thinks and is constantly trying to change his mind; with that f…

Oh, how I needed this! I need to learn humility with my mother-in-law: she is so kind, thoughtful, and generous. I do think her expectation for my husband going on sibling dates with his 16-year-old sister is nonsense, but she has been nothing but good to me. Thank you for the discussion and reminder.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." ~George Santayana Forgive me for waxing perhaps too philosophical, but one of my biggest frustrations with humans (including myself) is that we refuse to admit our stupid tendencies to fall to the worst we can possibly be. No one gets better by not trying or by embracing who they are: I only become a better person by working my butt off and not liking what I see in the mirror.
