One of my favorite things is how silly he is with me. We have a never-ending "you're a ____" after saying a random phrase. For example-- me: "Butta (kitty) is such a scaredy cat of the thunder"...him: "you're a scaredy cat". This is an actual good/logical example. We also call each other completely illogical things. "You're crunchy" "You're a pillow". We are completely ridiculous, and I love every minute of it.

Awww, now I'm all smiley and gonna text him <3

I thank my lucky stars every day that I've found a man who puts all the thoughts of my wild mind into some sort of manageable perspective. That he works so hard and still has the energy to come home and laugh with me. And that we both find joy in the most mundane of times, like standing in a checkout queue together! He's the best human I've met.

MY SO IS BETTER THAN YOUR SO ahhahaha!

This week he has been so amazing to me. He is a staunch athiest but played nice and went to my nieces christening. It was also his daughters bday so when my sister gave her a small cake, he thanked her and I didn't think anything more of it. When we left he mentioned how nice it was of my sister to do that for his daughter and I said "Well my family likes you". He said to me "Well that is very important to me so I'm glad." Call me butter cause I think I just about melted in my seat.

I've been having a lot of these moments and I cannot tell you ladies thank you enough for always being there with great advice and such thoughtful posts.

Also he is hawt. The end. :)

I love how my guy says a snarky joke and I'm very :| and then he leans in and kisses me like a cocky bastard! <3 <3

He has great sense of humor!

He's tall and has long arms so his hugs are amazing!

We share the same tastes in food!

He's incredibly experienced in life and grounded. Despite being an agemate, he's much wiser than his age and thus has a lot to teach me by example on being an emotionally mature and present person. I really admire that about him.

He keeps my anxiety in check. I rarely hamster around him which is great! He meets almost all of my needs and when he has to, has conversations to keep me at ease.

He's the Cuddle God (tm)!!!

I graduated this past weekend and my SO had the opportunity to meet my family for the first time. My family is intense. Not like bad intense, but just... there's a lot of personality to go around.

My sweet man met them and was confident, charming, intelligent, talkative and just... so very himself. He made the best impression! My dad, a very stoic and serious guy said a prayer before they left town and said something along the lines of thanking God for bringing him into our family and me and my siblings all looked up and at each other like 'WOW!"

It was a wonderful weekend and he is a wonderful man. My family hasn't stopped talking him up!

I could talk for days about how amazing a man he is, but this weekend he completely showed my family how amazing he is and they've been coming back and telling me. Jeez even as I wrote this, my sister called and was telling me what my dad said about him.

So I'm still gushing and my sweetheart is wonderful!

This weekend we had a few people over, mostly couples. A party I guess - lol were in our thirties but still! Drinking, music,dancing. The entire time my husband was spinning me around and dancing - very handsy- I loved every bit of it.

The planning was a huge hit (with him taking the lead)and everyone had fun.

My amazing husband is amazing. :D He puts up with regular disrespect from his mother, who he works with; he has one degree but is pursuing another to be a bigger bread-winner; he is helping us get to a new place away from demeaning, boundary-pushing relatives to become our own family; he has chosen to pursue TRP and dig deeper into the philosophy that makes our society as it is. This has caused/allowed me to grow so much too. AND he refuses to waste his time with porn and wants to raise our sons in the understanding of what it does to their testosterone levels and general manliness. He's going to be an amazing father and is already an incredible leader. I can't wait to get away from his mom! :P

Ooh dang, I almost missed this - yesterday was crazy!

Bragging about my SO is probably one of my favorite things. Current brag is that he went into an extremely small tech team full of old dogs who don't always keep up with the most current tech, and he is completely revamping the way everything is done and making the whole place more efficient and organized.

Also, there was a huge meat sale at our grocery store this past weekend, so he bought a ton of pork chops and smoked them for dinner this week to save me the work, and surprised me with a pound of alligator meat because he knows how much I love me some gator.

Another awesome thing he's doing is actually maybe the biggest - we go to a Cardinals/Cubs game every year. It's our tradition, our relationship was founded on our rivalry. We bought really, really good tickets to the game on the 23rd and I booked us a fantastic hotel near the stadium. But, my Blues just made it to round three in the Stanley Cup Playoffs - and game 5 is just down the road, starting 15 minutes prior to our baseball game. He's looking into selling our awesome baseball tickets ....AND GETTING TICKETS TO THE HOCKEY GAME! This is HUGE for me - I have never been to ANY kind of playoff game, and he's not even a big hockey fan. I don't know if it will happen or not because the tickets are so pricey right now, but the fact that he even considered it is just absolutely amazing.

My bf is harder-working and has more integrity than anybody I've ever known. He's protective but doesn't coddle-- I've made so much progress toward the person I've always wanted to be with his support, but maybe more importantly because he has the balls to push me, which is always uncomfortable in the moment but something I so appreciate in the long term. He makes me laugh til I pee a little (and laughs at my fucked up jokes).

He's also one of the hottest men I've ever laid eyes on and has a big penis. :D

I really - REALLY appreciate that my husband often goes out of his way to make me comfortable and feel loved. Like if I've got the munchies, he will go get my favorite candy, if I can't find my phone charger, he will find one for me, bring me a glass of watee after sex (:-p) or perhaps he will get me a cup of tea if I'm resting in the sofa. It makes me feel loved and special - and I love him to bits for taking such good care of me!

This week's been a bit of a blur as he was the best man at a wedding and was helping the groom get through it all, haha. He was on top of everything! :) He even danced with me for a long while even though he doesn't like dancing, and sang along to some of the slow songs even though he hates singing. It was great to see him giving his speech and generally being The Guy everyone came to for the night. All the younger girls had crushes on him too which was rather adorable. :)

One of my favorite things about my SO is how often he can make me laugh and get me out of my head. He is also the king of snuggles and understands how important they are to me so is always happy to indulge.

I also love how hard he works, and how great he is at his job. He has a lot on his plate but even though he is incredibly busy he somehow makes time for me on a regular basis.

I love how he's always ready to tackle any problem head-on and doesn't dilly-dally on silly things. He likes to get things done and to do them right. He's also very patient, and is willing to talk things through in a calm matter for however long it needs to take. He's very thoughtful, and is always aware of my need to be warm and has a supply of hoodies/blankets for me on hand, haha (I get cold easily).

I've spent more than half my life with my husband. He is my best friend. We balance each other out and honestly just enjoy being in each others company. I honestly can say that my favorite days have been days where we just hung out together and didn't do anything special.

My guy is seriously the best in the entire world. He is away on his bachelor party this weekend so I have been taking the time to think about what I want to say for our wedding vows and I've been feeling really overwhelmed with emotion about him and our upcoming wedding. He is working hard to build us the best future possible, even if he doesn't always love his job. He takes interest in every silly little thing I do. He is an excellent example of how to show gratitude, even when I do tiny things like cleaning or making cookies. Yesterday he told me he is the happiest he has ever been, even though I know he works so many hours and he doesn't get to spend as much time with friends. swoon

I could write a full blown novel on all the big, little, and in-between things that make me happy and proud to be with Demon, but I wanted to try to focus on one aspect of him in particular.

He is honest.

Because of my background, dishonesty triggers me to a major degree. I have trouble with white lies, even, because I know how major liars will use minor lies for misdirection purposes. I came out of a family in which lies and manipulation were just par for the course. I had to fight hard to recognize the pattern repeating itself in me and try to break it. My early efforts at this were terrible, and one result of it ended in me coming out of a relationship which, if I'd been any other sort of person, probably would have propelled me down the path of vengeful man-hater and incurable cynic. After a long break, I met Demonspawn.

Demonspawn is just . . . Demonspawn, in every situation, in every social setting, at work, with friends, with just me, with children and animals, with the elderly and with those in their prime. It may just be that his personality is such that it fits any situation well, but he's the only person I've ever known who doesn't even do a slight personality shift to suit different social settings. He's open and friendly and has no fear of anyone judging him for who he actually is.

He's not the type to give an undeserved compliment. If he doesn't like something he won't be goaded into false praise for the mere sake of keeping the peace. He's also happy to heap praise onto that which he does like, so no one is ever left feeling like crap from a lack of encouragement. He's the first human I've met who gives me no pause with their praise. I've never felt the need to second guess his happiness with me, to wonder if he just says I look pretty to avoid an argument, or any of that sort of nonsense. Everything can be taken at face value, and it's wonderful.

When he makes promises, they're promises. When he tells a story, he tells it exactly how he remembers it, and his memory is keen. If for some reason he cannot tell me something, I feel perfectly safe in my knowledge that his reasons are good and that he's not trying to hide anything from me. Every time he is with me, I'm insulated from a world of deceit by a blanket of trust that I hadn't known I was capable of feeling.

A benefit of all this is that now that I have firsthand knowledge of how honest people can be, I'm better at recognizing honesty in others. The quality of my social circle has gone up, and as a result so has my confidence and happiness. I can no longer recognize the timid, useless, anxiety riddled twit that I once was. It's not that he's made me this way (no one has that power over you but yourself), it's that his honesty and encouragement has helped me to accept that I may very well be as badass as he thinks I am, which lets me be badass for him. Which is pretty badass. :)
