If you can get away with it (don't know your living situation), blare some music as loud as you can and sing and dance around. Usually I like to do this with old 80s/90s pop, cause it's just so fun and energetic. Or for a more mellow stress reliever, I like to cuddle up and watch an old favorite movie that I've seen a million times - Clueless, Dazed and Confused, Home Alone, What About Bob - and have a cup of coffee or glass of red wine/beer.

Thank you for those sweet words. I often do feel like such an outlier to the group. :)

During the years we were trying to decide, I basically "interviewed" as many parents as I could (after drinks, so they might be more forthcoming). When I would ask "would you do it over the same?", I always got the answer "I love my kid(s)". BUT when I kept pushing "would you have them again?", about 40-50% said "ehhhhh I don't know, probably not". That makes me sad. Both for the kids and the parents...

Like beastyeast, my opinion is not a popular one... My husband and I were both in the "unsure/put it off until we're absolutely certain we're ready" category. We're celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this month, and we couldn't be happier in our decision to wait until we were sure. Because we are sure now that is not what we want for our lives. I started out unsure about kids for the same reasons you mention above - never alone time, wrecking my body, and worried I would parent like my …

I find a small platform under the front of the foot helps SO MUCH with whether they hurt or not. And I'm not sure if you have a treadmill in your home, but if you do, hop on there in your heels! Set the speed really low and watch one of your fave tv shows. (And hold the sides if your balance is wobbly!)

I was on another sub - I honestly don't remember which, since it's been so long since I found RPW. There was a comment making fun of a woman respecting what her husband wanted, or something along those lines, and the next comment under that said "there are actually a whole group of women who think like this" and it linked to you guys! I was initially expecting to just be entertained by "doormat brainwashed cult" wives, but everything I read was along my thought lines. Basically a 'well, yea, why…

Hahaha, I think it probably relates to how much my ex wore Hawaiian shirts. They are now associated with him in my head, so they are a no-no.

My husband is 6 years older than me, and the only issue that ever arises is when he's talking about old toys or cartoons that I was never exposed to! On all other topics (as well as with our attitudes about life in general), we're completely in sync.

We just finished season 1 and have season 2 set up to DVR! I felt so bad for Eric on season 1 when they would replay over and over Danielle saying Eric needs to step it up, not only as a man but as a husband. Ouch. We love trashy reality tv...we may or may not have seen every season of Marriage Bootcamp thus far...haha.

I love blue eyes, strong broad shoulders, and a playful grin. Total sploosh for what my sister calls "puffing up" into protector mode when the situation calls for it. I hate men in Hawaiian shirts, 50 year olds dressing like they're 20, and colored lens sunglasses.

Definitely with you on the PDA. It just screams immaturity or insecurity, or both? I have the same "bleh" reaction as you.

Yes, I really hate that they default to square. I think that must just be quicker/easier for the nail technicians to do, but it's definitely annoying when you tell them "no, round" and then they criticize your style.

Wow, people do this in front of the food and other people?? I was just thinking about food blogs/articles online ala "true Texas chili" or enchiladas in corn vs flour. That seriously is rude! That'd be the last invite they ever got.

Yea, it reminds me (sorry, warning this might be gross) of my Papa's nails when he got really old. They were so super thick. So that's immediately what my mind goes to with acrylic nails.

And then they want to force four kids and a large dog into their misery! (I actually did see an episode where they built two tiny houses next door to each other because the couple had four kids. They stuck a 14 year old boy in that space with three girls under the age of 6! And the parents got their own tiny house.) Hubby and I like to watch it and yell at the people, haha.

So much! And if I never hear the phrase "open floor plan" again, I would be soooo happy. I'm old fashioned. I don't want my kitchen in my living room, which is also in my dining room, which just so happens to be the front door. LOL Now you've got me all worked up too. Edit: And UGH about the Tiny House movement.

Hubby and I play a game called XXXopoly (I think we might've found it either on Amazon or Pink Cherry website). We kind of wing it as far as the rules of the game go, and we've meshed it with a sexy Bingo game we found. Add drinks. Sexy lingerie. Music of your liking. Porn on in background with volume lowered but not muted (if you're cool with that). Super fun board game night.

For Christmas I got an InstantPot pressure cooker, and I have absolutely loved the meals I've tried in it. It's my very first pressure cooker, so I was intimidated originally, but so pleased with it. I've made BBQ Chicken Thighs, Mississippi Roast, and I just winged a recipe for chicken enchilada filling based loosely on a recipe from a restaurant's cooking class. Tonight I'm making chili and cornbread, and marinating some pheasant for tomorrow to turn into Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Pheasant Popper…

This is definitely one of my pitfalls. I get all OCD about certain things, and I am really trying to just get over it. The worst for me is if we go to the grocery store together, he helps put items on the conveyor belt. It irks me to my core for a loaf of squishy bread to be in between a gallon of milk and a pack of soda. Ooooh, even just the thought of it right now! Haha. I know! The only thing that made me think - ok, this price is less ridiculous than I originally thought - was seeing that a crowbar was included with each crate. Still crazy expensive, but at least you get a big hunk of metal to hurt yourself with too, haha.

We go overboard for Christmas. Like draw the line, leap past it, and look back and laugh at it. That's how I grew up, and I have definitely passed that onto hubby. I am a Christmas fool. I do a combination of buy/make gifts, but I would say the majority are bought. I think I've mentioned it on here before, but the gift that left an impression most with me was a heated toilet seat! LOL Hubby kept hearing me yelp at the seat being cold, so he went out and found a heated one for me. Sweetest weird …

For years now, I have been the official bread baker for Thanksgiving. I use a passed-down recipe from my husband's grandmother because she can no longer make it (arthritis). Other than that, we just show up with wine, and I stand in the kitchen helping with anything I can. But if any of you need a last minute bread recipe, this one is really good! It will just take me a bit to type it out.

If you're into Disney, my surprising answer is Hot Topic. I got a couple this summer, and I find that I reach for them often. Good quality, held up through several washes, and cute but not "fancy".

We went to see this movie at the theater (Alamo Drafthouse replays old movies all the time). All our relationship I had heard "would you say you have a plethora of __", so I was FINALLY going to see where that saying came from....And I got up to go pee during that stinkin scene!! I came back to "well, you missed the plethora", haha.

We do game nights for date night. Board games & video games & jigsaw puzzles. We're old school with games so it's always Monopoly, Sorry, Trivial Pursuit, and Super Mario Bros, Rampart, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Always accompanied with drinks and terrible food. We have the absolute best time, just hanging out, laughing and telling random stories of our past. (Member berries for any South Park fans??)

I'm grateful my hubby went to our accountant yesterday and picked up our tax return, chased down his business partner to have him sign it, then organize our trip to the post office to get it out before deadline! He really saved the day. I'm grateful for an understanding coworker (and friend), who didn't hesitate to finish up our afternoon workload when I ran out of the office to meet hubby and head to the post office. I was really late posting this question to the last Simple Questions thread, so I'll repost here if that's ok. Thank you!!! So excited to try these! How I have never put puff pastry on pot pie is beyond me. It's funny you mention chicken spaghetti - my mom makes THE BEST chicken spaghetti, so I asked her for the recipe a long time ago before I was very versed in the kitchen. She puts Velveeta cheese in hers, and her recipe said "the small one". So I'm at the grocery store, see the Velveeta, grab the smallest one there and think nothing of it. I'm making it later and the cheese is just completely overwhel…

Our dinner is very relaxed and informal (no kids). We actually watch a recorded Wheel of Fortune each night with dinner and try to beat each other solving the puzzle. I cook a lot of different things. I've grown a lot in my cooking over the last year or two, so I'm constantly experimenting and trying new recipes, but I try to have about 2-3 nights a week where I cook a solid "5 star" meal. This is 5 star hubby taste rating, not a fancy take-all-day meal....although those two often overlap, haha,…

Based on the quiz you linked, I start off on the "Deep-dark" path...then get lost, haha! I love this so much! It's completely fascinating to me. But I have the hardest time determining my undertones. I even did a homemade drape test a couple years ago with probably 30 different blouses/scarves, and the only thing I determined was black does not look great on me (washes me out). But hey, at least I figured that out!

I don't know if this is specifically feminine mannerism or just lovey dovey respect for my captain, but when we're talking in a group of people, I "admire" him while he speaks. I don't wait impatiently for my turn to talk, or interrupt him. I look at him the entire time he's talking with just a tiny little smile. It makes me feel very feminine, and I can tell hubby just eats it up.

Your friend's initial response reminds me of the time I commented on one of the keto boards about how I get tired from cooking two meals (keto for me, carb-loaded for hubby). We just started (and finished!) season 1 of True Detective. We really enjoyed it, for both the crime solving aspect and the characters. Also, I recently discovered Rehab Addict on HGTV. They buy old homes and fix them up, but she pays special attention to keeping old details/features. Ooooh! American Horror Story should be starting back soon. I recently decided I had to distance myself from a couple girlfriends for this very reason. We would be hanging out as a big group and one of these girls would start making fun of something her husband did or said or doesn't do, and everybody would laugh (while the husband smiled and tried to not look hurt). Then the other girl would chime in with the same thing, insulting her husband, laughs all around. Then you just feel compelled to add something yourself. I admit, sometimes in the past I did…

Probably a year or two ago, I had started keto the week before shark week (great timing on my part). So. Much. Hormones. Seriously, I will never forget that bad decision, haha. I buy a bunch of lingerie from Wicked Temptations. The quality (and style) varies between surprisingly nice to...well, Hookers at the Point. Yea, you're right. The absolute worst possible outcome would be a fine. We won't go broke from it, so it shouldn't be a cause of tension for me. Thanks ladies for putting it in perspective. It's like a weight just lifted off my shoulders. You guys are the best :)

The worst part is I'm going to care until he does it because it's related to his company and I'm trying to look out for him. I report their sales to our outside accountants, and I'm waiting on several missing sales receipts. I don't want the state comptroller coming down on them for mis-reporting sales (tax). I need a zen quote for sure! Gotta beat this hamster down!!!

Yes!!! Just letting it be has probably been the hardest part for me as I work hard to be a RPWi. Like you, some things just eat away at me as they sit there day after day until you get to the point of 'screw it, I'll do it myself' thinking. Grrrr! Haha, I'm even getting all worked up right now just thinking of THE THING that is currently on the to-do list. But I keep my damn mouth shut and a smile on my face and just let the hamster run himself ragged!

Start thanking him for things, both big and small. But don't say it just to be saying it, or it will come out in your tone. Be genuine and loving and look him in the eye when you tell him. Sometimes I overlook this aspect because I'm busy or distracted, but I think it's very important to remember. I think feeling appreciated would help his esteem. Also compliment him more. I don't know your personality to know whether this phrase would fit, but I get the biggest smile from hubby when I look at h…

I love this advice! Thank you for that. So many little things that my husband does for me/the household that I don't acknowledge. I'm embarrassed to say I was really excited when I saw Netflix had added Bring It On.

Yah, I have flair now :) Thanks for that link. Haha, your stripper name does sound like a writer! Better contact a publisher pronto.

Hey :) So I'm not "new" but I'm finally becoming more active, instead of just lurking. The grass is greener where you water it. I know this is more of a quote than a piece of advice, but I think it speaks volumes by itself. Nurture the relationships you care about, and you will reap the benefits. Roscoe Young. Sounds kinda like a male porn actor! Ugh! My husband ruined all my fave girly movies by pointing out just how terrible all the women/relationships actually were, so I'm on the hunt now for…

One of my favorite things is how silly he is with me. We have a never-ending "you're a ____" after saying a random phrase. For example-- me: "Butta (kitty) is such a scaredy cat of the thunder"...him: "you're a scaredy cat". This is an actual good/logical example. We also call each other completely illogical things. "You're crunchy" "You're a pillow". We are completely ridiculous, and I love every minute of it. Awww, now I'm all smiley and gonna text him <3

I love you! Thank you for the Pinterest boards idea - genius! You wouldn't happen to want a new follower on Pinterest would you? I do the same thing with writing my grocery list out twice. Once for ingredients and brainstorming, then again for actually organizing for the store. Makes it soooo much easier and faster once you're there!

Aw shoot! Thanks for the warning. My skin is pretty sensitive, and I've noticed certain things make me itch too. In fact right now I have an itchy eyelid. Rabble :-\

This is going to show my age here - but that's Topsy Tail minus the 80s era gadget! I totally remember being upset with my mom for not buying it and just doing it with her hands, haha. "It's not the same, mama."

I don't know much about the science part of it, but I can tell you what I use and how I use it! haha. I use Ponds with the green lid (I think I've seen a blue lid one also?). You just rub it on a dry face, straight on top of your makeup, and rub rub rub until it turns from white to clear and seems like it's slightly absorbed into your skin, and then I rub some more, cause I'm weird and feel like I should. Then I wipe it off with a Kleenex or a warm damp wash cloth. It takes off all my makeup, in…

I might recommend it in addition to flossing, but definitely not instead of. I got a Waterpik maybe a month ago and used it before brushing. One night I decided to "test it" and I flossed after brushing...yea...sadness. It did not pass the test. So now I use it periodically as a pre-brush floss/gum stimulation but I continue to use floss for the real cleaning. Maybe it's just the way my teeth are shaped/spaced, but honestly it was a big let down.

The Marlboro Man Sammich -- I make it without onions (cause hubby and I do not like onions), and I add sliced provolone and get it all melty while toasting the bread in the skillet. Hubby requests it all the time. And it's surprisingly quick to throw together if you have the butter warming on the counter before dinner time.

Show your husband pictures of different styles of clothing (I removed heads so there would be less biased answers), and ask him to pick out the ones he finds most attractive. You might be surprised; I certainly was! For nine years (Nine!!) I thought he liked an edgier look. Turns out, he only likes the edgier look for the bedroom.

Cold cream! I love my "old lady cream" and my skin has never looked better since I ditched traditional face wash for it!

My husband and I have been together for quite some time (married 9 years, together 11) and we still do not pass gas in front of each other. It's a personal preference of mine. It just seems more polite and feminine. If it's rumbly tummy time, I step away to the bathroom, and he does the same (also without talking about it - if we're doing something together which would necessitate me letting him know where/why I'm getting up, I just say "gonna run to the bathroom real quick").

I recently changed the way I dress, just for my husband. All the time that we've been together, I had just assumed (I know, I know) that I knew what he found attractive. But when I decided to actually ASK him to show me some outfits he liked, it was the exact opposite! I felt bad that I had misread him for so long, and so badly misread at that. I'm happy in pretty much anything, so knowing that I'm now wearing something he finds attractive, makes me feel even prettier.

I have an Ugg "dress" (honestly not sure if it's meant to be worn out or just to sleep in) that I wear all the time. If it's colder, I put on my thick thigh high socks. Like you, I've had to transition my comfy clothes from oversized PJ pants and a terrible shirt/gigantic hoody. It sucked at first cause I was so used to the old way, but after finding the right new comfy clothes, I'm happy again.

I don't have curly hair exactly, but I learned a tip from r/curlyhair that has helped my crazy textured, totally unruly hair (thanks gray hair for making me need to dye it constantly). When you're washing your hair, don't rinse out the conditioner all the way, just maybe 80% rinsed out, and make sure that water is as cold as you can stand it. It helps tame my frizz and tangles a lot. Have you tried air drying with some "scrunching"-type product? And then scrunching your hair into messy semi-curl…

I only just started working out more regularly after getting into RPW, but I have dabbled in pole fitness off and on for several years. Personally, I love it and feel so confident and beautiful when poling. I only had "off" times because I always injured myself. I was not (still not really) physically fit, so my once/twice a week classes ended up pushing my limits a little too far too quickly. I can tell you my hubby loves bragging about me taking those classes to...seemingly anyone that will li…

That's really thoughtful of you to stop wearing something an ex gave you. You've inspired me to give away the Burberry scarf my ex gave me. It's been probably 12 years that I've hung onto it "because it's Burberry", but I should be more respectful of how that probably makes my husband feel when he sees it. For a replacement - I know this may sound odd to some people - but have you checked the Walmart jewelry department? (If you have a Walmart where you live.) I grew up in a very small town where…

I call him "honeybun" :) BUT that's also my term of endearment for all my loves in life (sister, close girlfriends). This is going to sound absolutely horrible, but Hubby and I call each other "stupid" or "stupidface", haha. But I promise we mean it sweetly and not insulting! It's usually when we're being extra lovey dovey when we use this one, and it's always followed by huge smiles and cuddles from both of us.

The only leather stretching that's worked for me is blasting the hair dryer on the leather while I'm wearing them (to the point where I was burning my feet with the heat, even with socks on). I did the hair dryer for probably around 5 minutes on one shoe, then switched feet - about 5 minutes blowing hot on the other shoe. Then leave them on your feet for the next hour or so and try to walk around the house a lot. This loosened up some flats that I had tried breaking in the usual 'wear them a lit…

My husband bought me a heated toilet seat for Christmas one year because that winter I had started making a tiny yelp whenever my behind hit the freezing cold seat. He would laugh when he heard me and yell out "Cold?", and we would giggle at my ridiculousness. I've told him many times how much I really appreciated that gift and how sweet he was to pay attention.

I'm actually very interested in everyone's location. For instance, are there more RPW in specific countries or if there are concentrated areas of us ladies within countries. Also, maybe just a lighthearted question thrown into the mix like favorite brand heels or favorite bra. Just something fun as the last question of the survey.

Christmas!!!! I love Christmas so much. I'm that giddy lady running around telling my family and friends "it's __ days til Christmas!" By the way ladies, it's 42 days til Christmas!! :) I started an advent calendar tradition a couple years ago with hubby that uses sexy-time items as the surprise. I put up these tiny little stockings in the shape of a Christmas tree on the wall of our bedroom and stuff them with things like lingerie, toys, lube, and little pieces of cute paper that suggest an act…

Hi! I've been lurking for about a month now. I stumbled upon this sub from a comment in another sub and thought 'this is where I belong'. I've been married to the most amazing man for 8 years. He has put up with so much "dumb bitchery" as we jokingly call it. It's his time to shine now, and I'm ready to step back and support him and be more gracious and nurturing. I feel a new found happiness since finding this sub, and I can't thank you guys enough. You're wonderful people and a great example t…
