Woman are picky and don't know how to pick a partner plain and simple...they date cheaters, scammers, and fellons. Am I out of touch? Nah, it's the women's fault! Real men don't use make up unless your gay. I don't want to decive! What nerve men going to the gym is 90% of the work makeup is FAKE! Your Beautiful face wipes off with a napkin. I thought about that obviously. I did an effort to write the shortest, clearest post I could, while leaving as little as possible to interpretation. Many people, including on this thread, are telling me that my post indeed was clear and concise. Must be a huge coincidence, but the people who seem to not have read it are the ones being like "maybe your post was bad". I would be very curious if any of those critics could take my post and turn it into a clearer, more concise version. Surely it can'…

I do not mind anyone replying to just one of the raised point, or raising a new point themselves. That's valid debating. You clearly did not read that previous post, but you feel the need to give your opinion. This is very telling.

That is what this entire sub though is exactly about , the same arguments over and over again. We might just have to agree to disagree, but the title of this sub is literally "Question what you believe"

You got a point on that inflammatory language. I agree that my choices of words were probably on the wrong side of the line. I should have found a different way to express that idea.

If every time someone challenged your post and you just referred them back to your point a/b/c etc people are going to loose interest and your being a rather poor debater. If I said in my post "If you say X, then my reply to this is Y and Z" And someone, who apparently didn't bother reading, comes and be like "But what about X" It only makes sense that I redirect them to the post. This is efficient debate. They can elaborate if they want of course, or argue against my Y and Z points. Just becaus…

People can be against any of this and it doesn't automatically mean they're pathetic In my opinion, being against how other people live their lives because of morals or because you think you always know better... yeah that's pathetic. This is exactly what I defend in the post. So they want to talk about your claim. They really don't, that's the issue. You're the first person to even wonder if "pathetic" is the right choice of words. then you complain that people wanted to discuss your headline M…

Are you implying my post was a long rant? It's literally 7 bullet points that each are summed up in either short paragraphs or short sentences. Plus a quick intro and outro. It's as concise as possible, while doing its best so redditors won't understand it the wrong way (but they still do since they didn't read) and won't just repeat the same old arguments that you'll have to debunk in comments (which they also do since, well, they didn't read). I can only pre-digest the reader's work so much. I…

If you're against open relationships How is this not clear? I did not say "If you don't want an open relationship", I said "if you are against open relationships". Not "Are you against having one", not "Are you against an open relationship", but "Are you against open relationshipS". Let's use another example: Do you want an homosexual relationship? VS Are you against homosexual relationships? How is that the same thing in your mind? If I tell someone "If you are against homosexual relationships,…

Excessively long I agree, but I don't think that post was such a case. I knew what most arguments would be so I addressed them in advance to save time, in a concise way (a few paragraphs at most). The alternative is incessant back-and-forth with dozens of people on points you could have raised in the post.

"If you're against open relationships, you're pathetic". What do you understand by that title ? You and everyone can answer. Because to me it clearly sounds like if someone gives me a choice of getting into an open relationship and I decline, I'm pathetic. This is why you read the damn post. Moreover, I never said you criticized monogamy. Even I never said open relationships is a bad idea for everyone. I find it very bad taste when a dude assume a woman will want them just because she's into casual sex. They're usually quite low-value men. Just because a woman enjoy casual sex with hot dudes doesn't mean she'll go for you buddy. Being slutty doesn't mean having no standards.

a good longterm solution You're assuming open relationships must be a solution to a problem. Can't they just be a different relationship model? I'm not talking about opening a closed relationship here.

I mean you don't actually want your mind changed? You want to push acceptance of open relationships. There was a few good arguments there and there which lead to a good points raised, but not from you. But it's laughable to suggest open relationships don't have a higher failure rate than monogamous ones. They do. Just because yours hasn't doesn't mean people aren't crashing and burning elsewhere. I personally don't really believe that but if you have any data to show I'd be happy to have my mind…

I mean, if you're going to float around a philosophical underpinning to justify your sexual practices in an intellectual way, it should at least make sense. You could just say you want to have sex with lots of people in an open relationship without all the extra stuff. While Epicurus viewed sex as a natural desire, he and fellow Epicureans view sexual intercourse as an UNNECESSARY desire. So I think you are REALLY barking up the wrong tree here. You really have no idea what you're talking about.…

I mean a lot of men here can't get 1 person to fuck them let alone multiple. So I don't really get the point of the post in the first place. Why do anyone post CMVs here? "Accept my way of life!!!" And I'm sorry, you said she should be able to have sex because "it feels good and just having it." Hedonism is described as "pleasure (in the sense of the satisfaction of desires) is the highest good and proper aim of human life." Seems consistent. Epicureanism has been traditionally focused on food and drink, but more so, while it is a form of hedonism, it differs from hedonism traditionally understood in that a core belief that the absence of pain and fear constitutes the greatest pleasure and…

But a 50th percentile woman is much more sexually desirable to the opposite sex than a 50th percentile man, and can have many more sexual partners. While this is true, you shouldn't forget that women usually prefer quality over quantity (and frankly men should too). So it's more complex than just "who can get laid in their percentile" imho. We adults all have limited time and busy lives, I prefer spending less times on dates with higher quality people and so do my partners. If a man is fine with…

Time you spend trying to fuck around is time away from your spouse and kids. You're dedicating time to finding people to fuck, arranging the fucking. If someone doesn't want to have sex with me, they wouldn't be offering it, would they? If someone didn't want to get me a beer, they wouldn't be offering it would they? I am confused about this concept you have of coercive rewards that are offered by other people. It's nonsensical. There are many reasons why someone would offer you sex without wanting sex. For example they feel like it's their duty, or you paid them. If you're comfortable with that kind of sex then good, personally I'm not. I on…

Also, why is one person not enough? I never get it. I don't think it's about being enough or not enough. For polyamory, I think it's more like just doing what you want to do with people you like. You can have love and support at home, but still want to pursue something with someone else. For open relationship (sex with others) - some people really like diversity in sex, I'm one of them, I can't imagine just having sex with the same person all my life, however amazing the sex is. But having a lot of new mom and dads boyfriends pop in and out of life is destabilizing and bad for kids, especially if they are exposed to any of the drama that parents have with other partners or eachother. Poly People with kids have no drama, drama mostly happens with younger people, just like with monogamy. Poly parents are usually in long term commited relationships, so people don't just casually go in and out. Or they just have sex with friends outside their main relationship and that's li…

Oh, I have tons of poly friends. And I've experimented with 3somes and whatnot. But the thing is, it adds a lot of unnecessary drama and I can't be bothered with it at this point in my life. All of a sudden you're not even allowed to hang out with your girl friends because your boyfriend is terrified that you're hooking up in the ladies room or something. No, thank you. Who has the time for polyamorous relationships? Very good point. This is why I don't have polyamorous relationships anymore, albeit I officially can (and also we don't have kids, so that's a lot of freed time). I'm more into FWBs now. I understand that hypothetically this makes some people happy but to me it is taking something that is happy and stable and making it way more complex for no real reason, since as long as you are sexually into your partner and have a fulfilling sex life, then what …

Of course if you want it to be open, why be in a relationship at all. That's a very close minded opinion. Why do you think a relationship is not real if open? Don't you think there can be more to relationships than sex?

A beer does not magically appear. It is created by a person. Rewards are created by people. Tying back a reward to a person is not that hard. Enthusiastic consent is a weird response. Human beings give each other rewards all the time. Are you telling me getting a massage after a hard day's work is somehow exploitative if the provider does not have "enthusiastic consent"? And that's great for you and your sister, it's not the norm. As you said monogamous relationships end all the time. You're just ratcheting up the difficulty level. Open relationships are easier for some people than monogamous relationships. I could never be happy in monogamy, so I'm one of those people. Thinking it's always harder to be open is close-minded. Once someone opens up their relationship I just wait. Usually implodes 1-1.5 years. Some sooner it just depends. I've been married for 5+ years, and my sister's open relationship is 15+ years old at this point. But applying the logic most couples break up if kids are involved it just means more people entering and exiting their lives. This sentence is not clear at all. Can you rephrase?

Your title said those that are against open relationships are pathetic. Im against it for myself. But im not policing the relationships of others. "I don't enjoy macaronis" and "I am against macaronis" are very different things. In the second case, it is understood that your are against macaronis in general, as a concept, for everyone. But my comment here was not really about that anyway, we were discussing your vision of sex, so I don't really understand why you're saying this now.

It's literally part of your name. Let me introduce you to the context of "irony" You can enjoy that cucked life even if I consider it abhorrent. I totally will. You are the one who needs to persuade us why open relationships are beneficial. Not really, because I don't think they're beneficial for most people. Sex is always a reward in my eyes. Anything that makes you feel good after a hard work in life is a reward. A beer after work might be a reward, but a beer is an item, not a person. The beer doesn't need to have Enthusiastic Consent for you to enjoy it. I'm wasting my energy and my time on my partner You're "wasting" your energy and time?? Do you e…

Its about respect. A woman cant expect me to court her, marry her, invest, etc. Then. In the same breath give her body to someone else for free while being with me Its not a money issue. Its a respect issue. You're considering that there should be a "price" to give one's body. That is not how I see sex at all. I see sex as just being the result of desires from 2 (or more) parties. But most of the time, an open relationship is either a cover for a desire to cheat, a desperate attempt to keep a dysfunctional monogamous relationship alive, to assert one's dominance in the relationship, or just a bunch of unnecessary drama. Women wanting taller men, good It's more socially acceptable sure, but no one ever said it was good. Many feminists actually say that's a shitty social preference. Men wanting younger women, bad Height doesn't change through your life. Age does. So that's a shitty criteria for LTR. Also younger age makes for less interesting people (height doesn't), so it shows how much you care about pure physical appearances. Not that it's even a bad thing, but it also shows your physical appearance tastes are…

Men wanting younger women is rooted in biology and human nature Can say this of literally anything, including a gender swap. "Women prefer young men etc". People who say X is rooted in "biology and human nature" seldom know anything about either of those things. Saying "X is natural" not only draw to a naturalist fallacy but is also quite literally impossible to say in the overwhelming majority of cases. The whole premise of "nature" is unscientific and basically a categorization error. Nature i…

There is always a subtle power dynamic. If you desire your partner more than they desire you, they have power over you. I used to believe this but in my current main relationship we just adore each others to the point where we both have extraordinary "power" over the other. But since we both are so important to each others, we don't try to use any power, so even if a power imbalance would exist, it wouldn't be relevant. But let's put this aside and say you're right, for the sake of the argument.…

You're getting older, she's still relatively young. You're going to lose your power and soon she's going to cheat or divorce you. However, if you marry a woman your age, you're actually going to gain power in the relationship over time, because men remain attractive as they grow older, while it's harder for women. Jesus fooking Christ, why is it always struggles of power for people around here? A healthy marriage dynamic is not based on "how much power you have over your partner" - Maybe you sho…

The scale being 1 to 7, Most "normal" men in the study would probably be rated between 3 and 6. In that smaller range, the change has more impact. 2/ However you are right, the effect is small indeed: While the difference between men with and without makeup was statistically significant, the effect size was small. 3/…

Invisible makeup (yes, there is such a thing) is the way to go so you don't go against gender norms too much (some women might not like it indeed, not my kind of women but to each their own). Allowed by whom exactly? Surely not by their women. If you don't believe me look at any post of a man telling about their experience doing it. You'll see hundreds of not thousands of horror stories. Horror stories that I also share lol. As I said, I keep away from people like that, and they're really not the majority. In my city (Paris) they're even quite rare, at least among people under 40. You say that aggressiveness is toxic. I have to disagree. There are plenty of situations where aggressio…

What do you mean by a commodity being "property" of a man, not being a whole person (women can only open bank accounts by themselves since like the 70s). In the extremes, being bought and sold. Also what kind of society doesn't value beautiful things/people over things that aren't beautiful? Every society values beauty, but it's all relative. If you are "property", not a human but an item, you'll be valued as such, not for your brains, ideas, aspirations, but for your physique. So you'd better h…

How exactly does it prey on inept men. You do know that slot of men learn social skills and things of that nature from the redpill which directly improves their lives. Even before it was called the red pill. Yes I was one of those men. The thing is, you don't start learning social skills if you don't need them in the first place. The problem is the RedPill doesn't solve toxicity, it promotes it. And idk if I agree that society "imposes" toxic values on men. Things like toughness and proactivenes…

Okay, then I will reply. tell me why women value their appearance so much regardless of culture or time period This is only true in cultures and time periods where there is a strong male dominated social system ("Patriarchy"). There have been countless research on the links between patriarchal systems and feminine beauty. I could quote Bourdieu, or this book The explanation is extremely simple: if women are a commodity, then they gain value by increasing physical appearance. Beauty standards are…

/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/22 08:47 AM

Sure. The redpill preys on low-status, socially inept, badly socialized men. By providing a social framework placing the man as the dominant character in unequal relationships and reifying yourself as the ideal of the masculine man, it helps bolster a sense of superiority in a dude whose ego was hurt by social expectations for what a man should be. Society imposes toxic values and expectations on men (and by "society" I do mean both men and women). If you don´t conform, you end up hurt with low …

Please tell me why women value their appearance so much regardless of culture or time period. First I need to know, which one is it? Women DO take care of their appearance much more than men, or the opposite? Cause my whole thread here is about women doing that, and many people just came to tell me I'm wrong, men are doing much more than women.

Hey do what you want, but if your wife is having sex with other men she does not respect you. That's completely, utterly false, and I would know since I love and respect my wife more than anything while also having sex with other people, but you know, I respect your right to an opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/22 08:35 AM

I mean, you totally could use scientific skepticism to discredit opinions you don't like while closing your common sense to just believe anything you want to be true without question. Actually, a lot of redpillers do this. It's something I see literally all the time on this sub. It's all about being as honest as you can and as rigorously scientific as you can, but even scientists are prey to fallacies and just believing what they want to. Which is why one of my main principles is "if an opinion …

Cringing so hard at the PUA arguments: Men are much more capable of having sex and viewing it as nothing more than a physical pleasure. A man can have sex with another woman and still love his wife/girlfriend (which is accurate) Lol, this is such pseudoscientific bullshit. So you'd argue women like tall guys for psychosocial reasons not evolutionary reasons. Or to be even more specific the psychosocial reasons are the evolutionary reasons. Women usually have more experience with makeup than men so it’s a better chance we’ll notice. It's no magic, you learn. It's not even complicated makeup, just enough foundation to hide imperfections Also, when you do finally take the makeup off it’ll be an immediate turn off once it’s noticed. Men don't seem to care that much about that. People care more about what you look at your best than at your worst.

Last time I checked, women are the ones whining that men aren't attracted to fat/ugly women. Not the other way around. "Men are generally uglier than women" other way around lol. Not sure how you would "check" that other than being terminally online - and internet =\= reality Most women don't take of themselves or they allow themselves to get fat in relationships/marriages, while the boyfriend/husband actually looks like he puts an effort to take care of himself. You guys will say and do anythin…

I would rather kill myself than to go to the gym. I have one life and I will spend it how I see fit. I have no time for things I loathe. Gym is an acquired taste but I respect your choice Also: if women didn't want me at my worst, they don't deserve me at my best. ;) As long as you're okay with the physically worse woman too

No one can attract 100% of high status people at all time. Sure a girl can get fucked by as many men as she want if she's hot, but if she's hot she probably has standards too high to fuck dudes who have zero standards. I don't think there are 'wrong' reasons to be picky anyway since everyone has their body autonomy. But I agree, you should take care of yourself primarily for you - but people who hold themselves to high standards rarely have trouble finding dates.

Every dude I know who say they like "natural no-makeup girls" point to girls that are wearing obvious make up. Dudes are just very bad at spotting makeup and imagine girls just naturally look like they have great skin. Well they dont. As soon as a girl stop using makeup, dudes think she's ugly. That's how much men's perception is shifted. Personally I'd rather everyone use make-up, if it makes people look better I'm all for it.

If you’re at her league in looks, but you have a ton of money/status, you can basically say ANYTHING unless outrageous and she’ll be into you I mean I thought this was completely obvious to everyone. It's also true the other way around, or in same-sex relationships. We are humans.

Forgive me my ignorance, but since school I never understood why women took these magazines, TV shows and movies so serious that they felt they need to change. I honestly never understood that and I still don't. That's a pretty good question actually. The answer is simple: it's not just magazines and tv shows. It's each and every single piece of media and ads (ads which nowadays are litterally everywhere). Plus, it's also the social pressure from people who do watch any media or any ads. Many wo…

I'm the one out of 10 people with eating disorders that is a guy. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, but I already knew that. Eating disorders are a fucking curse. I run very regularly (would do it every day if my doctor didn't forbid me to). Ran a marathon while sick. Running is incredibly easier than managing eating disorders. People who successfully manage their eating disorders are the real champs. You being proud to go to the gym everyday is nothing in comparison.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/22 10:41 AM
1

I wonder how this circumstance could be explained. Why is it that so many women do have eating disorders? Unhealthy beauty norms imposed upon them? I do wonder where women find all that money for these things lol. I know they are expensive. They just spend less on other stuff? Only worth it if I had a wife who wants me to see in a certain style. Other than that there is no guarantee that a certain style will attract women. Does looking good for the sake of yourself not interest you at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/22 10:39 AM
1

Women don't have to do that either. True. Still, just the diet part can makes you go crazy. There's a reason 9 people with eating disorders out of 10 are women. That plus there's only 18% more men that do sport compared to women so it's not such a big difference. Albeit every man and woman should do sport (but they don't for a majority of both genders). On addition, women have makeup, hair management (body and head), clothes, skin care etc. Men should do all of that too but they don't.

It doesn't work that way. They still get pumped by Chad. The chads I know have standards. Stats also show that women globally have less sex than men: https://www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/millennials-sex-study.php The increase in adult sexual inactivity between the 1960s and the 1990s generations was larger and significant among women (from 2.3 percent to 5.4 percent), but not among men (from 1.7 percent to 1.9 percent). But let's say you were right. Why are you trying to chase mediocre women?

One gym session as a guy is worth everything a woman does in a year. You probably never had to starve yourself. I do both gym and starvation and the gym is so, so, so much easier. Guys actually fundamentally change their bodies. Women just paint themselves up, use cheats like Spanx and heels and call it a day. Guys have to go to the gym, big deal. Gym is dead easy. I'll respectfully have to disagree. Feminists wants to break down gender norms for women first and foremost.. Firstly, thank for being respectful. Gender norms dont exist in a vacuum. You either have a system enforcing them (what the feminists call the patriarchy) or you don't. A fight for liberating a gender therefore automatically liberates the other. After all, while it's true that a lot of non feminist women are enforcing gender roles for men, it seems to me that mostly men are enforcing gen…

Who said men's experiences are to be dismissed? Neither me nor the feminists did. Recognizing that X have it worse than Y is not the same thing as saying Y should be dismissed. Especially since the liberation of X also profit to Y. It's not Feminism VS Men's right. It's Feminism vs Gender norms, so pro-men's right.

I did not mention toxic masculinity in my comment. You have good examples - However you also cherry pick your data considerably. Wall of stats incoming: The majority of domestic homicide victims (killed by ex/partner or a family member) for the year ending March 2017 to the year ending March 2019 were female (77% or 274 victims) and most of the suspects were male (263 out of 274; 96%). Of the 83 male victims of domestic homicide, the suspect was female in 39 cases, and male in 44 cases. (ONS, 20…

There's just this sweeping generalization that all women are being oppressed and live in a patriarchal society, which isn't true for all Indeed, but that's the tricky thing about sociology. You need to be clear at the difference between "women as a group" and "a bunch of individual women". It's about systemic issues, not individual issues. Issues like psychological bias. A very good example would be how there wasnt many women in orchestras, but then they implemented blind auditions, and then the…

So yes, women's rights are inferior to men's in some places, but as a blanket statement that includes all women's rights being inferior everywhere, I would disagree, as my rights as a woman in Scandinavia is pretty damn great. Scandinavia is literally the best place for a woman to live currently. Thanks to feminism. This makes you sound a bit like an antivax saying you don't need vaccines cause diseases are gone thanks to vaccines. I would like to add that in the countries where women's rights a…

Forget about women for a while. Focus on yourself. The first step to attract people is to be attractive. By focusing on yourself you both increase your attractiveness and reduce your tendency to "jump the gun".

If you support actual equal rights for both women and men, then you're egalitarian, not feminist. Being feminist means you support equal rights for women So... just like Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter? One of the basis of feminism is the idea that women's rights right now are inferior to men's right. This is also the idea behind BLM. It doesn't mean all live don't matter, it means all lives will matter when black lives matter. If feminism was about equality, why don't feminists take men'…

If a girl isn't attracted to you and you hit on her, she will often think of it as 'creepy' Nahhh. It's the complete opposite. Being creepy makes you unattractive af. Like the other comment said, pickup is too advances for some people. The last thing to do is to double down.

Not really, otherwise there wouldn't be average and below average looking guys. You seem to believe that hotness and facial features are one and the same. This is the kind of thinking that I try to dismantle in this article. The reality of attraction is more complex. Faces are just faces. While it is true that some features are more attractive than others, it is but a single variable in the total equation. There are so many average and below average looking guys, not because of their "natural" f…

It’s common knowledge that it is men that care about visual cues and physical appearance Lol if you think women don't care about physical appearance you really need to talk to more women. I would argue the opposite of what you say is common knowledge, at least outside redpiller circlejerks on the internet. I will agree that looks are not everything, which is why I mention here that being hot is only a subset of being attractive. but its scientifically proven that a man’s looks are the least impo…

But being physically hot alone isn’t enough to sustain anything There’s also a hot vibe that comes from within that can attract people from across the room Indeed, that's exactly what I'm defending here. Of working out gives you confidence, then go for it Everyone should work out at least a little bit, for physical and mental health.

To sum up in a few words: the master exists throught the eyes of the slave, but since he despise the slave this is not satisfying for him. What I mean is that misogynistic people can only be in a position of control in a relationship, so they're basically on the Master side of the interaction, and are unhappy. The conclusion of Hegel was that equality is a net gain for the slave and the master alike.

Im quite confused. What makes you think you are dating if she said you are only friends? You are dating but you never met each others? To answer your last question, during a date you basically talk and vibe with the other person. The vibe might end up late at night with beers and a kiss, or it might end up in bed, or it might just end up with a "goodbye loved talking to you". Depending on what kind of person you are Id advise either a coffee date (because coffee is a stimulant) or a drink date (…

I dont really but i understand why it would feel that way from the text. I take the example or overweightness a lot because it's quite clear cut that our beauty norms discourage being fat. So it will always be a net negative. I do find some fat people attractive. But if Im 100% honest, I would probably find them more attractive if they were more slim.

Thank you for this insightful question: 1- it's ok to change goals en route 2- you seem to know what you want already, you described your goals quite precisely. You are commited to find the right person for a serious relationship, and in the meantime to have fun. It's very valid.

Women expectations did not change in 10 years, that's an absurd claim. Take the pic of a hot guy in 2010, he's still hot today. I'd be ready to change my mind if you had a lot of evidence - because extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - but you probably have none... It makes much more sense that you had attractive qualities for a 20 yo that do not work anymore for a 30 yo. If you're a 30 yo with the mind of a 20 yo, that's not attractive.

You're admitting yourself your success changed but you didnt change much. This counters the theory that it's all genetic and in the face.

No. The statistic is that they're not attractive, not that they have an ugly face. Don't twist real data to justify a wrong opinion.
