I don't think there's any actual reason not to as long as the younger woman is legal. Most men just don't have the opportunity to date younger women because most young women like young men lmao.

I agree you with. In fact, even if you're an average looking and not ugly guy, Tinder still isn't the place for you. The only men who have success online dating are objectively very hot. It is what it is. The reason people provide glib advice about enhancing their profiles is because these dudes are asking for help and it's not socially acceptable to tell people that they're unattractive or that their efforts are pointless. And to be fair, better photos/bios may HELP, but marginally. I do think …

Contrary to popular belief, most people settle to some degree. I believe that this is due to a combination of loneliness and necessity. People don't want to be alone. We are social creatures. Most of us will never meet or have the opportunity to be with our "ideal" soulmate partner, so we "settle" for someone who we enjoy and meets our needs on a basic level. Life is also really expensive to do alone, so sometimes shacking up meets a financial need. Sometimes people want children/a family. I don…

I'd say that most people in generally have a poor perception of their objective attractiveness. Most people I have met seem to think they're either very attractive or very unattractive when the reality is that the huge majority of people are neither lol. They're just average. And that's okay. Dating apps are no place for average men. To be fair, women are WAY more picky on Tinder than they'd be in real life because apps give the illusion of options that we actually do not have. I think men are j…

I'm an ambiguous looking mixed race Black woman and can speak to this. In the Western world, European features will always be considered the standard of attractiveness for both men and women. Men of colour often specifically prioritize white women, but it's actually not uncommon for women of colour to do this as well. It is my perception that white men are actually pretty open to dating women of any ethnicity (more than white women) if they're attractive, but at the end of the day, most people a…

Most people aren't special outside of their own circles. The dating market doesn't owe you anything. Men will typically sleep with just about anyone. It doesn't mean they'd be remotely interested in a LTR with anyone. Most people will end up settling in some way, shape or form. Your league is who you can attract, point blank period. If you're not attracting the people you feel entitled to, you are likely punching above your weight. On that note, you're literally entitled to have any standards th…

Not so much changed my mind, but this sub has given me a better understanding of how challenging dating is for the average man comparative to the average woman. I just didn't think about it before. I always knew most men were "desperate" and would "fuck anyone", but I didn't realize the extent of it until recently.

"Women should make the first move more" The average man will fuck anything with a pulse. If a man REALLY wants you, he will figure out some kind of way to make a move

It largely depends on how educated the woman is. People who get degrees often value higher education and would seek partners who share that value. But I can only speak for myself. I have a masters and would prefer a man with some form of post secondary if I had the choice (including trade school or community college). But if I met a dude who was driven and focused with a decent career, I CERTAINLY would not turn him down or think less of him over not having higher education. I also would not fee…

THIS. The internet has distorted people's view of what average looks like. OP needs to go walk around Wal Mart for an hour to get back down to earth. Emma Stone is well above a 6.

The estrogen piece is interesting. I actually do plan to look into this further and try to find papers. Thanks! Again, my perception may be skewed by spending so much time around mental health clients who are literally all emotional, regardless of gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/23 01:37 AM

I don't know if I agree that women are inherently more emotional so much as they are more openly emotional. I work in a mental health setting and haven't noticed differences in inherent emotionality between men and women, but I have noticed that women are way more expressive, whearas men typically show deep emotion only after trust has been established. A lot of the male clients are actually more emotional than women (i.e. angry outbursts). But this is a mental health setting so maybe not a grea…

LOL number 1 is NOT a dad bod. He's an in shape/muscular dude with a higher body fat percentage than a gym bro. To me, his is most attractive. A true dad bod is the classic overweight American man.

Jason Statham has aged well, yes. But AGAIN, he is an extreme outlier and a Hollywood celebrity lol. It is definitely more common for men to grow into their looks than women, but most people in general look way worse with age. Most men who don't look good at 25 also don't look good at 40+ lol. Men will always be more attractive when young, as a general rule. Sorry lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/23 11:53 PM

Again, Hollywood actors are extreme outliers and do not represent the general population. I agree with you that men absolutely peak older than women. But most men "peak" at 25-35 (as opposed to 18-25ish for women). I haven't met any men in REAL LIFE who look better at 40+ than they did at 25 lol. Cherry picked examples of celebrities don't change the general trend that youth is on people's side. Also, I am an "older" woman and have no issue with age gap relationships lol. Younger women simply te…

I agree with this but I think it applies to men too. Most people are not delusional. They are aware that they're not top tier in looks, status, skill etc. Most people do perceive themselves as above average and "special" to some degree though. Even people with chronically low self esteem aren't immune to this. We are the main characters in our own lives and tend to see ourselves as more special than other people (besides maybe close family and friends) do. It's part of being human. Everyone is a…

"We won’t always just trade you in for a younger model when you get older, because of wife goggles." I disagree. 99% of older men simply are not attractive or rich enough to pull young models lmao. However, I do think that wife goggles are a real thing (I.e. initial attraction is based on physical appearance almost entirely, but men are often still attracted to their wives into their old age by virtue of who she is). Doesn't mean that a lot of men (not all, just a lot) wouldn't jump at the chanc…

/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 07:55 PM

Hmm, I actually agree with this, but I think that it also depends on the options that the man has. Average men don't have as many options as very good looking or high status men, so they'll typically tolerate a lot more. Above average men have more options and yes, as a result, may be more likely to break up for the reasons you mentioned.

I am a former ugly duckling. I was overweight to morbidly obese for my whole life and not conventionally attractive. People made sure I knew it. At best I was ignored. At worst, I was ridiculed and shamed. Men were only interested in me for easy sex. I lost a bunch of weight in my thirties and learned to properly dress for my body type and do my hair and makeup. The difference in how I am treated is SHOCKING. By men, women, at work, in retail stores, online etc. And I am still not "hot". I am si…

Some are genetic, yes. But not all. Men in their twenties are not taller, but they're usually more muscular or at least less fat (both men and women tend to gain weight with age). A full head of hair often correlates with age (especially for men). Clear, wrinkle-free skin directly correlates with age. Lips thin with age. General facial features begin to change and sag as we age (both men and women). Sure, certain features stand the test of time and there is a huge genetic component. But youth is…

For women: Slim (but with decent sized breasts and butt), full lips, larger eyes, narrow jaw, high cheekbones Men: Tall, well defined jaw, broad shoulders, at least somewhat athletic/muscular (not bodybuilder type, but some tone and definition) Both: Full head of healthy hair, symmetrical and proportionate features, nice teeth, no obvious deformities, clear/smooth skin These are features that are GENERALLY considered universally attractive. Everyone's personal preferences vary. I know men who pr…

Something I didn't mention in that OP is that attractiveness has both objective and subjective components. I am speaking mainly of objective attractiveness. Hollywood actors are extreme outliers and don't represent the general population. It makes sense that Hollywood heart throbs are often in their mid thirties. They have to appeal to a BROAD age range of women. A super hot 35 year old man may have mass appeal to both 20 and 50 year old women. Doesn't mean the 20 year olds wouldn't generally fi…

Exactly. Not usually under 25. You're getting more attention now in your 40s from older women who are past their physical prime. More mature women are typically more assertive and also don't have as many options as younger women, so they're not as picky or entitled. Hot young women typically want equally hot young men. Point blank. I don't mean this to be rude. I believe that you are likely attractive, but VERY FEW people physically peak in their 40s unless they were fat when younger or somethin…

/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 06:27 PM

I never said there weren't physically hot older men lol. I said that GENERALLY, men peak around 25-early 30s. I can't account for every outlier in a reddit post, so there is some generalization.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 06:26 PM
2

Lol you're not wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 06:10 PM
-1

Exactly. I am in my 30s and am most attracted to men in their 30s and 40s. But I realize that men in their mid twenties are usually more objectively attractive. I constantly see men in their mid twenties at the gym that make me say damn. But that doesn't mean I want to bang/date them or am even attracted to them on a sexual level. I should have specified in the OP that I am talking about attractiveness in objective terms, not necessarily what every individual is personally attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 06:06 PM
2

Sure. You may peak status/financially at 40-50. But nobody peaks physically at that age unless they were fat in their youth or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 05:27 PM
2

That may be true. A lot of men peak in their early 30s, which is still relatively young. The issue is that I see a lot of folks arguing that men physically peak at 40-50 which simply is not true. Youth is on everyone's side. You still have youth at 30.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 02:17 PM
1

Did you bother to read the whole OP? Early 30s is still typical physical peak range for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 02:12 PM
4

Definitely. People date, have sex, and get married throughout their life span, whether they're attractive or not lol. There is truth to the fact that options dwindle with age, but the 40 year old woman dying alone with 6 cats is a myth. I've literally heard stories of people entering new relationships in seniors homes. If you're willing to date within your league, options can stay open pretty much forever. They just won't be the same at 25 vs 45.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 01:11 PM
17

Yep. Being a young, attractive woman is one of the most socially advantageous positions to be in. You get treated like you're special by virtue of simply existing. I wasn't hot when I was young, so I don't have this experience. However, I see it play out everyday at work, in retail settings, in the service industry, in the dating world etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 12:01 PM
5

Agree with all of this. Young women are also picky about looks, but as you suggest, are typically more willing to overlook a lackluster physical appearance for money and status. This is why some older men are able to pull young, hot women. Not because older men are physically hotter.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:56 AM
1

I believe this is true.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:40 AM
3

I actually agree with your first point about options dismissing lmao (thus, forcing them to become more down to earth). But 25 year olds are objectively more physically attractive than 45 year olds, all else equal. Sorry lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:39 AM
6

That's a REALLY good point. There was some study done on age and attractiveness that somehow ended with men of all ages consistently rating young women as most attractive, while women rated men close to whatever their own age was as most attractive. This is true for me as a woman in my 30s. I realize that 25 year old men are generally more OBJECTIVELY attractive than 40 year olds, but I'd be more personally attracted to the 40 year old for the most part.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:37 AM
3

It's not the only factor, no. But I have observed that BOTH men and women value looks above all else (broadly speaking).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:33 AM
3

I would argue that that's because young, hot women are EXTREMELY picky and can usually have their choice of whatever guys they want lol, leaving a lot of young men alone. People tend to become more down to earth about their physical standards as they age. Just because there are more single 25 year old dudes than 45 year old dudes does not mean that 45 year olds are generally more physically attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:25 AM
2

Women are very shallow too lol. They just virtue signal a lot more. Women value looks in men a hell of a lot as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:23 AM
9

Large gaps are quite rare and young, hot women do for the most part want to date young, hot guys. However, I think people (usually older women) make a huge deal out of age gaps because it reminds them of their fading youth/beauty and makes them feel left out. Younger people are more attractive, period (this applies to both men and women, but women are valued more for looks than men are, so aging can be particularly devastating for women). I say all of this as a woman in my 30s. I am attractive a…

No I realize 5"11 is above average, but it's not usually considered tall and I'd still say it's within the average range. This website is golden though. Omg.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 05:51 PM
2

Age is such an important factor that I wish I included in the OP. I agree that it is VERY common for younger women to overestimate their attractiveness. Basically all a woman has to do is be in her twenties and not fat and she'll have herds of men after her who WAY over inflate her objective beauty. Women in their 30s and up tend to be way more realistic about their dating prospects and attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 05:38 PM
1

I agree that 50-60k is solid and that 5"11 isn't short lol. But 50k isn't rich and 5"11 isn't "tall" either. Average ranges without being outstanding.

Well this is the thing. The only "average" people I've seen who seriously struggle to date are people who fall into the completely delusional category. I agree that almost all of us overestimate ourselves to some degree, but usually not to the point of fantasy.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 11:34 PM
2

I agree lol. Sure, that gigachad may represent the "ideal" for many women. Just like most men would "ideally" have a 20 year old Adriana Lima lookalike with an insatiable sexual appetite. But most people (both men and women) aren't delusional and have no issues dating within their league lol.

The age factor is a really good point that multiple folks have brought up.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 11:23 PM

I said 5"8 to 5"11 lol. Where I live, an average income is around 50k. Adjust to your location. I do agree that the age group is an important factor that I didn't include though. Seems much harder for "average" dudes in their twenties.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 11:07 PM

I know a guy like this. He's a decent looking guy with a decent job and could EASILY settle down with an average gal and live a happy, average life. He'd even probably have no problem hooking up with lots of average girls. The issue is that he has only ever gone for extremely attractive women (IG fitness model types who could literally make money off of their looks). And he seems genuinely puzzled about why he is perpetually single.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 09:00 PM

I think average height in the US is 5"10. I'd consider 5"11 in the average "range". Most men aren't considered tall until they hit 6"0.

I've literally only ever heard one woman refer to herself as a 10 lol. But I do agree that many women overestimate their attractiveness. This phenomenon is VERY prominent amongst young white women (teens to mid twenties). I've seen countless women who are facially quite average being lauded as great beauties simply because they are young, white, and not fat lol. These women are of course undeniably attractive. But we also live in a society that prioritizes youth, thinness and whiteness above all…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/23 11:49 PM

Not ugly at all. You look good and your physique is insane. Your "problem" is very likely related to race. Do you mostly go after white women? The average white women is not into black men (unless you're Michael B Jordan). You'd do great amongst black women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 06:51 AM

I agree with almost all of this lol besides 13 (objectively attractive and unattractive people have an equal chance of being awful lol). This is one of the most reasonable posts I've seen on here.
