So true.According to the laws at the time (which are what would be applied), yeah, according to the police department with jurisdiction | /r/MensRights | 30/09/18 05:10 AM
So true.I watched the hearing and came to the complete opposite conclusion you did. Now what? | /r/MensRights | 30/09/18 02:45 AM
So true. But refusing to take accusations seriously ... I believe we should take accusations seriously, but I don't know how more seriously we could a take a vague accusation of a 35-year-old misdemeanor, far beyond the statute of limitations, lobbed as part of a politically partisan attack. ... and the general feeling as if women work to victimize men with malice is just... Uncomfortable to say the least. Some people absolutely work to victimize others, often, with malice. I absolutely believe that femi… | /r/MensRights | 30/09/18 02:44 AM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise. They don’t matter in the assessment of someone’s value as a person, but they’re also barely a blip on the radar of those defining “toxic masculinity”. That’s the low hanging fruit — the baily to their motte. Of course I’d be friendly to your hypothetical firefighter, as unlikely as such an individual may be. As for what else does toxic masculinity refers to ... well, you tell me. Do you think men process emotion incorrectly? Cry too infrequently? What else? | /r/MensRights | 27/09/18 02:31 AM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise. That seems profoundly unlikely, but none of those things actually matter. That’s also not remotely the extent of what “toxic masculinity” refers to. | /r/MensRights | 27/09/18 02:05 AM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise. No, that wouldn’t be better. I’m not going to punish some dude at a bar for failing to fulfill my imagined gender normative ideal, but I am absolutely going to hold others to a high standard. I’m a firefighter, and a better one for being held to those standards. I look up to and try to emulate men who are honorable, reliable, careful, considered, and prepared to help others. I’m a big fan of the Boy Scout motto. To me, masculinity is all about moderating what comes to men naturally, directing it… | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 05:22 PM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise.Drinking too much water is toxic, and can kill you. Do you describe this — hyponatremia — as “toxic water”? | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 05:07 PM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise.Dude, post-puberty, men naturally cry less. Being forced to grow up early is not great, but life isn’t always a bed of roses. | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 04:59 PM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise.... taking generally healthy behaviors to the nth degree, which becomes unhealthy. That pretty much applies to anything, though. Is it toxic femininity to take empathy to the nth degree, to the point it becomes pathological? | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 04:24 PM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise.... because just about every example of “toxic masculinity” is just masculinity. Men aren’t broken women, but that’s the picture painted by “toxic masculinity” — if we just acted more like women, we wouldn’t be toxic. | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 02:17 AM
"Toxic" masculinity? Kids say otherwise.I happen to think suppressing emotions can be a good thing, as long as you still address the root causes, but that’s an unpopular opinion these days. People increasingly seem like slaves to their baser emotions, whether it’s insecurity (social networks) or anxiety and fear ... | /r/MensRights | 26/09/18 02:14 AM
Every time a men commits suicide going through a divorce it’s an example of #ToxicFemininity Let’s never forget their storiesThanks, and I'm really glad to hear your friend is doing better. There are not many outlets where we can talk about this sort of thing. | /r/MensRights | 29/08/18 10:40 PM
Every time a men commits suicide going through a divorce it’s an example of #ToxicFemininity Let’s never forget their storiesTechnically I initiated my divorce, but only because she was addicted to , self-medicating with pot for something that turned out to be late-onset bipolar disorder, and too high and too busy to actually initiate the divorce herself. All things I'd have previously never thought she was capable of. It destroyed the previously healthy business we'd built together over 15 years, so I was out of a job, too. I tried to kill myself, but I failed to stop my heart (I'm fine now). Even though I was sorta … | /r/MensRights | 29/08/18 10:31 PM
