kind of, but not exactly. a religion can have multiple communities within it, some being more cult-like and others being less so.

not everyone is a fighter and not everyone wants to fight for their government. the fact that they live in that society is irrelevant to those two facts.

hate this idea that anything other than an immediate enthusiastic "yes" is the result of coercion. waters down what that word actually means.

it's not entirely wrong, it's just reductive and one-sided. that's a big part of how they get away with it.

yes, a lot of men's problems are caused by the "patriarchy." that's what MRAs have been trying to say. that's a big part of why they've been skeptical of calling it the "patriarchy." even when it's caused by men, it doesn't change that it targets men. it doesn't change that you victim-blame when you conflate the perpetrator and the victim because they share a gender.

see, the problem is viewing male reactionism as simply unprovoked hate. generally, it's legitimate material problems being distorted into hate movements by fascists

when women do it, they're just "emulating men" because they "have no choice" or "don't know any better." when men do it (and sometimes when they don't even do it but their unrelated actions are grossly misinterpreted) it's because they're "misogynist scum"

it's sad how much MRA can mirror feminism sometimes, yes. there needs to be a new egalitarianism. i come here because i find the words of egalitarians alienated from feminism useful, but sometimes things can get too "NO feminist ever understands ANYTHING and we must ONLY be perpetually mad". no. that's just not how it is. feminism has become a huge, wide-ranging thing, with plenty of ideas and offshoots within it, despite the vile influential figures (which should be brought more attention to, y…

there is a so-called "incel community" on the internet that is composed of far-right men unsuccessful in romance, but feminists blow it way out of proportion and make it seem as if it's a bigger problem than it is

"but what about human nature" - followed by crazy argument. a classic with people who have internalized capitalism and its alienations. male advocacy is a temporary solution to bring light to an underrepresented issue. it's not some eternal force of nature to counter some equally eternal matriarchy. not some mythical yin and yang situation. the truth is that we've become needlessly divided and that this situation must be remedied. anything else risks many grave situations, including extinction.

(again, i'm obviously not denying that men are being screwed over. they absolutely are. i'm just saying that in most of the world, women are being screwed over in different ways too) (ps: my comment is not about the original post, but about this response)
