Yeah I saw the admin mentioning they have massive traffic all of a sudden :P Tried now and still didn't work. I keep trying until I get lucky and get in or they somehow find a solution to the sudden migration.

This is a good explanation: https://www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=10.1257/jep.28.4.3 "Because the first people that were unfortunately infected with monkeypox happened to be gay, along with the effect of network segregation (gay people tend to have closer links with other gay people), the spread could happened faster within the gay population. But eventually, if not controlled properly (which is not), it will spread within other segregations of the population. If one studies other contagious deseas…

I see. Are the replies supposed to be given in a text reply or is this using those autocomplete text bots thing? Eh, it's not very clear, tho I did see an admin comment between the lines in welcome channel saying to reply to question to be verified. Shouldn't that be made clear in a header of some sort and not a line lost between the welcome bot posts? Oh well, anyway, if they reject me I guess it means I did it wrong. EDIT: Ok I saw other replies so I think I did this properly. Thanks for reply…

Thanks for posting this. I rarely post anything nowadays but I do check this subreddit daily and I am trying to closely keep up with this topic so I can follow if/when the community is forced to move to a new location. On that note, for the LWMA discord do you need to do anything for the "verified" status that let's you see the topics? Or is it still under construction and the few welcome/rules/etc topics I see there are the only things currently up? Thanks.

The exception, the Fairy Godmother: The only relevant male character presented in a positive light is the Fairy Godmother, and the reason is because is a gay man using female or non-binary clothes. By comparing with all other male characters, we can perceive that this represents narrative of “heterosexual men are bad, gay/non-binary are good”. I usually avoid commenting here, but I really do feel like pointing something out in this case. "Gay men" are not depicted as "good" or "cool" (like someo…

OuttaSightOutyaMind said: "It’s about being progressive now? You sound like a feminist not an activist for men’s rights and specifically the right to do with their bodies as they want" No. It's about being a "decent human being". I'm sure you need a link for that too, but you're not worth the effort. As for anyone else reading this, whenever I'm horrified by this barbaric and monstrous practice (the systematic mutilation of boys' genitals and how it is a "comic relief" type of subject in a lot o…

Read the title and I was like "YES! Finally someone with a brain in America and then... Zimbabwe... riiiight". Still it's great news. Hopefully... HOPEFULLY they win and maybe it'll be one of many similar lawsuits. PS: Was there ever such a lawsuit in US? Or is hoping for that similar to hoping for such a lawsuit in Israel... Religious zealots mutilating new born babies... I guess it's one of those days that end in "day" (in english).

Just as I opened the post and clicked upvote, it went from 36 to 33 (and to 34 with my vote). Someone doesn't like this it seems. Anyway I agree. The casual mutilation of our new born boys should be a priority. Oh it's against someone's magic beliefs aka religion? Shove your delusions and magic fairy tales.

@TibortheChechen: Going hysterical without providing any evidence is, like you, irrelevant. To showcase this point I'll give you one example, you're not worth more effort: Mike Pence. And finally chillax sweetheart. I don't like Trump. Don't take it so personally, you'll get an ulcer. PS: No one would believe you are an atheist after that :)

@Imnotmrabut: You misunderstood. I said "he will have influence". In no way that can be interpreted as saying "he is amenable". He will and has influence. What he does with it and whether it'll be positive or not remains to be seen. Normally I would say everything will be negative, but there are some things that are happening at this very moment that are positive. Although not because they want to do something good, but mostly because it's the opposite of the Obama administration and their terri…

Instead of a blanket statement of "no Trump here" or "all Trump here" or whatever, how about encourage and guide discussions starting from that point towards men's rights. You don't need much to realise that the president of the US will have influence on a vast number of issues, men's rights included. A good example is how almost the entire Trump administration is made of religious zealots or corrupt politicians, and if you think the religious and their "religion freedom" bs laws have no impac…

There's not enough "sexually objectified" men in the media. And I'm not just saying that because I like seeing the perfect bodies and whatnot... well maybe that's a part of it ha... but because it irks me how feminists frame this. It's all about how "women are objectified" and "victims" of this with the only purpose to "satisfy the str8 male gaze". Personally I think that's a big pile of horse sht. Sure you can dig at it and squeeze some "objectification", however vague that word is explained by…

Meh. The democrats (the corporate party in particular) have lost all touch with reality or they don't really care at all to win the election again. Not going into details, but if they keep up the nonsense they will definetly lose the 2020 elections as well. It's even more pathetic considering what a joke Trump is. Oh well.

For some feminists it's about pushing a rhetoric, mostly for money, influence, power, etc. For some female feminists it's about being too stupid to realize they are amongst the most privileged and entitled brats in the history of the human species (talking about the ones in US, though the ones in western Europe are the same). And both those categories I've mentioned are spectacularly blind to the plight of women who are ACTUALLY oppressed, like the women in most arabic and/or muslim countries. B…

Sigh, I've been an athiest No you haven't. The fact that you refer to "being an atheist" like that proves you don't even understand what it means. if you want to offend me you'll have to put more of an effort into it. This is very disappointing. Her electoral platform was generally much better than corporate democrats and republicans. And then she shows the delusional entitlement of feminism. Pathetic. As for the "right" answer, like a few others have already mentioned in comments, it is very simple. Had she answered with "No. Thank you." no one could have accused her of anything (or ask him to have the debate on "neutral ground" so to speak). As a bonus this would have probably caused the hyper Shapiro to go…

@Calliopenis: You started out good and then you lost the thread... I'll go point by point: Compartmentalization: When someone says something that is accurate, factual, based in reality, etc., their character (or lack thereof) or their ideas and beliefs not related to that topic are irrelevant to that specific topic. So while they may be X (insert prefered adjective) when they say something correct that something does have value. However you can't just completely ignore the rest of their beliefs,…

Religious beliefs are not entitled to special priviliges. In fact, considering how nonsensical they are and how much harm, destruction, misinformation, suffering and etc religion brings to the world it's actually one of the best things one can criticize and definetly something people should criticize. And yes, I'm well aware of how religious people react when someones DARES to even slightly criticize their believies in magic. Also, next time, if you want to tell someone they offended your feelin…

Oh yeah, Ben Shapiro the epitome of snowflakism and "muuuuh feels" whenever it's something about his silly magic beliefs or something he "doesn't like waaah" being "the man" and slapping "the snowflakes". The irony is hilarious. Besides, I can't take seriously an adult who wears magic clothing, in his case his wee magic hat.

While that could be indeed used positively and to help boys, in reality is only used against boys. Due to numerous reasons. But that aside, it's clear you're not familiar with concepts like "grooming" and brainwashing which make for a very difficult issue to dismiss, although there are people who try. The age of consent concept, while not perfect, safeguards against many much more serious issues and it generally protects children. What you're suggesting is similar to what pedophile apologists an…

You can't have it both ways. Either kids under 18 are not capable of having consent according to law and other factors, in which case the "consent" from the minor is irrelevant, and the adult party is fully guilty of taking advantage of the youth's innocence and naivete. OR Age is irrelevant and marriages and sexual relations with minors should be made legal. Pedophilia will no longer be a thing. So make up your mind. You can't wishy washy your way from one end to the other. If it's an older mal…

Yeah, anything and everything coming from prageru is complete horsesht. It's actually comical. Even the worst offenders in terms of hypocrisy on the right, like Shapiro or Peterson, will occasionally say something intelligent. Peterson in particular and he also seems capable of admiting when he is wrong, which is really rare nowadays, but then he goes back to his tune, because of that sweet patreon money and sponsors. But with PragerU, you can bet anything they say is so unintelligently dogmatic…

What? The police didn't laugh in the victim's face because he's a man? That is progress indeed. Still, that attitude exists and is prevalent. But how to work to get that fixed when most people, including most men, will happily play along with the "take it like a man" shtick and will outright ignore male victims. And will raise their boys like that and so on and so forth. Modern feminism and their rampant misandry are definetly slowing down what is already a snail-paced progress so that makes thi…

Well a joke is a joke. Duh. That's not the point here though. The thing is it's all about how women can easily control the men with their "womanly arts". That's the underlining of the "joke". Sure it's funny and possibly lighthearted, but even then, the "social joke", the one you see in ALL hollywood crap movies (especially the romcom genre), is that men are easily controlled and made to do whatever the woman wants. And yes, another duh for those who missed the reason why some might be annoyed b…

Considering Shapiro is a hypocritical, hatemongering, religious zealot... there's not much to change ones mind about him. The fact that he occasionally and accidentally says some things that aren't total bs, is not really relevant to his character and intellect... or lack thereof. He HAPPENS to be right especially when talking to feminists. However, a well trained chimp is smart enough to "win" an argument against a feminist (because they're full of bs most of the time, have no rational argument…

Congrats. This means you and the modern "feminists" share this narrow minded simplistic view that all men are basic, simple, unemotional monkeys that can be reduced as a whole to sweeping vapid generalizations. The only difference is you push towards the right/conservative side of the stupid argument, while they push for the left/sjw side of the stupid argument.

I wonder how this post and the commenters here deal with the post a bit above about men and touch, and the emotional issues men face. Or are the same people commenting on one that yes men are emotionally abused and restricted, and that it's ok to show emotion, have friends, platonic touch etc, and still be "manly", then coming here and post about the dangers of "pussification". Because while some people see the nuances, I bet most don't. The nuance here being that the general "right way to be a …

Yeah, I'll pass on the armchair psychology your too frinedly priest from childhood has shared with you and has apparently reshaped reality for you. Anyone with decent thinking capacity will know the religious zealots trying to embed themselves in the men's rights movement are anything but honest, and certainly not giving two flying shits about men or their rights. Amusingly enough, conflating the privilege of clergy and the rich (often the same) with "all men have privilege" is a specialty of th…

Your first point is a significant and valid one. And I was thinking about it after posting. What exactly does a college "corrupted" by this new weird wave of "liberalism" brings to the table. Well, I agree, if we're talking about arts and whatnot, probably nothing other than indoctrination, like you say. However, what about science? Do you find it equally acceptable that men should give up on the higher education that produces scientists (in any field), engineers, doctors, programmers, and on an…

While I agree with everyone wanting to stay away from the regressive left insanity, the idea on "the other side" (the equally shitty right) is horrible as well. America needs more education not less. A country where 50%+ of population believes the bible to be "actual word of god and absolutely true" desperately needs education and reason. It doesn't need the brainless hysteria and falsehoods the feminists, blm, and all other regressive leftists and it doesn't need the theocratic and magic-based …

Due to the insane hypocrisy and monumental stupidity the regressive left is putting forward nowadays, I'm finding myself agreeing and appreciating people I never thought I would agree with, even less so appreciate, like Betsy DeVos ffs. And that's one of the recent examples that leave me baffled by the current developements in society. However, there's a limit to what being occasionally right can excuse about a person. Ben Shapiro may be right about feminism, and "wins" "debates" with feminists …

I absolutely agree. I haven't really looked into whether there are more men or women who have been allies throughout history, but the general perception is that it's been women. If for no other reason than the loud mouth divas in Hollywood music and film. So regardless of reality, most believe women have been "better" allies. And yes, women can get away with a lot more. Always have.

Hilariously sad comment. Now, to explain a bit. This is why I hate what the idiotic sjw crowd has done in recent years. They have enabled the extreme right to restart issues that were solved for all humans with 1+ functioning brain cells. No, men are not oink oink gorillas who only think of sex. No, men are not void of emotions (those are serial killers). No, men are not defined by a limited and unintelligent set of "rules" (trying to apply general rules to individuals is almost always stupid, e…

The gay community (specifically gay men) is plagued with stereotypes, both bombarding us from outside and from within. The ones from within are the most irritating to me. You're basically "doing gay wrong" if you don't "praise women, idolize women, idolize divas, like fashion, adhere to the idiotic top/bottom mantra..." and on and on it goes. With that in mind, I understand why so many gay men go with the flow of this new "feminism" (I use quotes because what I understand by feminism is the clas…

Are you saying the systematic and barbaric mutilation of baby boys is ok simply because it's motivated by religion? Did I misunderstand you? Because if I didn't, and that's what you said, I'm sorry to inform you that that is profoundly inhuman. If I'm right, this reminds me of something Sam Harris said, describing a conversation he had with a rather deranged woman about this exact thing. This is actually a concern I had for quite a long time. And not because of the regressive right and their propaganda (at this point, where the lies and deception have reached comedic/tragic levels, it's safe to call it propaganda imo), but because there are people on the right who will often defend mra principles (whether for personal gain or coincidentally or because they actually believe in equality is less relevant) only to turn the next second and spew the most idiotic religious zealoty thin…

Thank you. You're message is really well thought out and significantly more optimistic than my doom and gloom approach, so thanks for that as well. Quote: Boys and men are socialized to solve their own problems, rather than seek help from others. This isn't inherently a bad thing, as independence and self-sufficiency are good traits to possess in many situations. I absolutely agree. These are all things I've talked to, or tried to talk to with people I know. Most of the time I get the same vitriolic response you get nowadays from most of the crowd of crazies known as sjws. I was just watching this: The Left is No Longer Liberal and it resonates all too well. As a gay man, I had basically one place to go, politically speaking, and that was the left, the liberals. Agree. It's also worth mentioning that men (generally speaking, and referring to civilized countries) are raised (I would use a stronger word here, more akin to "indoctrinated", but I can understand how some people might find that word a little uncomfortable) to behave like that. It's drilled into us since we gain awareness, that women are this super being, perfect, inner beauty, etc etc, that "real men" do this and that in regards to women, and so on (and from here I can go into a rant about st…

Sacred Band of Thebes - best solution! ;) Now back to the point I wanted to make. I don't see it as "bigotry" of lower standards, but as "favoritism" of lower standards. Women have only benefits as a result of having to achieve things measured to lower standards than men (obviously this is not absolute, but it does happen often enough that it can be generalised) and the fact that some of them take offense to it and claim to want true equality doesn't change the reality of most women benefiting f…
