Men’s fashion is so limited it basically doesn’t exist. Some men have given up on trying to dress nicely, it’s not necessarily out of laziness (though it could be). Perhaps if we had more options, those men will put in more effort?

There are women who dress up and wear makeup for themselves. There are also some who do it to appear attractive to men. Either way is perfectly fine. This debate is pointless.

Men already don’t have the options of makeup or fancy outfits that they can wear when going on dates. Let’s get this clear, shall we? Women use makeup, don’t accept men who use makeup, then cite makeup as a reason that men should pay for dates.

I do want to experience the warmth of a romantic relationship. Also, I apologise if this comes off as narcissistic but I want to feel that I am desirable too.

I am not masculine by nature. I do not see any good rationale of forcing myself into a role that does not represent my true nature. I want to date someone who may potentially become my lifelong partner, so isn’t it best for me to show my authentic self for her to decide if we will be a good fit for each other?

I understand that many men will do anything to pressure/manipulate women for sex, and that this has shaped women’s behaviour in the initial stages of dating. For example, women typically don’t approach men first, as there’s a risk that men who aren’t interested will accept to take advantage of them for sex. But as a man who doesn’t have much of a sex drive, possibly asexual, and prefers gender role reversal, I can’t help but feel that I am some sort of collateral damage. Like, I get why women ha…

In your opinion, would it be fair for a man who’s not in a good financial situation and without a job to expect the woman to pay?

I agree with you, sorry that you got downvoted. These guys submit to the demands of toxic women too easily.

Yes. I’m not sure why it matters that some women don’t like it. Women encourage each other to do what they want even if it goes against men’s preferences. It’s empowering! But men don’t support each other to go against women’s preferences and show vulnerability in front of women?

Women dislike any signs or displays of weakness in men. Women are disgusted and almost offended by "pleas for sympathy." So never do that. In that case, do you have to listen to those women? I have not experienced women being disgusted by me expressing vulnerability, but if I ever do, I will insist on my right to express my vulnerability and shame the women for it. Far too many men just choose to submit to women. I don’t hear men affirming each other such as “You go bro! Be strong and independen…

Hmm, but women’s height genes definitely do come from the father too. Not a majority, but I do see that a number (I’d estimate 30+%) of tall women have a tall father and short mother. So I think it’s still fair to say the father’s height is a significant factor? I also do see tall father, short mother producing short sons fairly often.

I’ve seen a few men who think this way, but they are nowhere near as common as short women preferring tall men to have taller sons.

There are a significant number of people who do care about genetics when choosing their partners. Perhaps you’re not one of them.

Sorry; I’m not getting your point. Do you mind elaborating more?

I think you missed the point of my argument. I am saying that a man’s short height or skinny built is not genetically inferior because those traits can be useful if he has a daughter and passes the traits to her.

My hot take: Any form of sexism can be argued as either misogyny or misandry if you try hard enough to twist the narrative. When considering whether a form of sexism is misogyny or misandry, it is most meaningful to simply focus on which gender is disadvantaged by it. This way, we can see that both misogyny and misandry definitely exist.

Men and women tend to vent/rant in different ways. Men’s rants are often more emotionally charged which can be an issue to women.

Low BMI female = muscular or athletic build male agreeable female = assertive male Why? I would do low BMI female = low BMI male and agreeable female = agreeable male. I don’t see a reason not to directly equate them. For hourglass figure I can understand since men don’t often naturally have them.

The top-level comment was about men being offensive and unpleasant to be around.

So obviously if you got money, most likely you got status. I think you got it the wrong way around.

Ugly maybe, but since when does being short make a man unpleasant to women? At most women don’t want to date him and that’s it. ETA: To put things into context, I highly doubt a woman would go, “This guy is 5’4. That’s so disgusting! I don’t wanna be around him!”

Nah, there was that study where on a dating app, the top women got nearly all the messages from men. women were judgier but distributed their messages more. actions speak louder than words. Yes, that’s the often-neglected second part of the infamous Okcupid study that people always cite as proof of women’s hypergamy.

For a fairer comparison, perhaps we should specify that the strange man and strange woman in this scenario are of similar physical size and built?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 08:04 AM
1

The heritability of physical traits does not discriminate by gender. If weak men are undesirable while weak women are acceptable, weak women can still reproduce and have weak sons. It will not eliminate weakness as a trait.

If I am asexual and still expected to pay, what am I paying for?

I think men could do more to scream and nag for equality for things that disadvantage them.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 03:26 AM

Why not? Do you find it downright unconceivable that some women may simply enjoy dressing up and dancing with their friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 03:05 AM

Are they? I had the impression asexual men are not in demand. I apologise for my ignorance.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 03:16 PM

This is why it sucks to be an asexual man. You have little motivation to approach women compared to other men, but you can’t as easily get things like romance and companionship from a relationship, or even the validation from being desired by the opposite sex. You have to put in more effort than a woman for less reward and satisfaction than it would for a horny man, effectively giving you the worst of both worlds.

I’m quite happy with my body and appearance even though it doesn’t fit the standards of conventional attractiveness. Does this count?

I am personally attracted to courage and initiative in women. Do you think I have the right to say women not offering to pay is the equivalent of being a ‘late slob’?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
