I would pay 50/50 for restaurant dates and I would try to one up my partner in small things, like buying ice cream for her. It's a little chivalry from my culture, but I don't have limitless money.

Granted, i’m not asexual but i do have opinions about paying for dates. The issue with your post is that it comes with the expectation that paying for dates is for the sake of getting sex in return. It can be, but it isn’t always the case. I can tell you that the reason why I pay for many of my dates that i set up (unless the other person is insistent on also paying) is because i did the asking out and i did the planning, so it’s a form of chivalrous hosting, if you wanna call it that.

I'm aroace and I got invited a few time by my friends and she wouldn't let me pay, she insist on paying for everything. So I usually don't pay, but I still offer her present for big occasion and try to arrange vacation trip but she knows my bank account and she would usually send her part on it. I would rather go Dutch to balance things out.

I don't respond well to peer pressure. So if she tried to pressure me into paying then I would 100% split the bill.

My biromantic asexual friend fully pays on first few dates (but expects some efforts in return) only for women. For men, he just goes with the flow on who pays, usually 50/50 or taking turns.

He says that he feels more pressure to impress when dating women while he thinks men don’t seem to care much about who’s paying.

I've only ever been on one date but neither of us bought anything. So it seems that I have to answer this question as if it was a hypothetical scenario.

If I didn't enjoy the date, I would split the bill. This might offend some people but look, Nobody is entitled for the other person to pay their bill for them.

If I did enjoy the date I would consider paying for her meal as it's a way of showing that I had a good time hanging out with her. I also wouldn't mind if she offered to pay, because to me that means that she enjoyed the date and I'm doing something right.
