This. It's rare to find someone that matches their profile. Filters are everywhere now, and everyone is using them.

True enough. Everyone that's not Chad-capable is seen as a potential provider, but only if they're socially acceptable enough.

That's the value we have in current American society.

Having been on the other side of that, thanks for calling things the way they are. It fucking sucks from the male perspective.

I think the millennials on may have a chance to change it. Boomers and too many of us X'ers aren't interested in men having actual feelings.

But nobody wants to change it.

This was a little over ten years ago. She's a different person now, and we have a friendly relationship for the most part. It's worked out as best it could be. I hope you get there too.

God, that sucks. I'm sorry your went through, and I'm glad they dropped it,. Felonies have a tendency to ruin lives.

Oh no, I know the guy, sadly. He ended up dealing meth while they were married. This is the type of person who told his own eight year old daughter she had the moves to be an exotic dancer. I took over being her being her dad not much later. She's now in her mid twenties, has a degree, owns a house, and makes more money than I do. Guess she didn't follow his ideal...

I'm a professional techie, they're a bunch of former frat boys that never finished growing up. In the end, the company folded anyway (due to their incredibly stupid spending). They outright despised me, and didn't even try to hide it. CEO once asked me 'You're still here?' in reference to my marriage.

I'm sorry for the both of you. That's incredibly harsh on her, and terrible that you had to deal with it alone.

I was painfully aware of that. We tried counseling, but even then it couldn't work.

It was the company she worked for, piled on top of a few years of damage by her ex-husband before me. This was years ago, and she's not only apologized, but admitted to me that she blamed me for what he did. She knows now how unfair it was, and wishes she hadn't been that person. Everyone makes mistakes, some far harder than others. I've made peace with it, and we've repaired our relationship as much as we needed to. She was profoundly damaged, in ways my younger self could not comprehend. That'…

Been there. Got pounded on repeatedly by my now ex-wife. She was in a bad place, working for a company that was a complete personality cult, and the ones at the top all hated guys like me. That leaked into our marriage, sadly. The one redeeming grace was that she weighed maybe 110, and I was a 220lb bear. I usually would just tell her to knock it off, since there's very little she could do past a light bruise. Still sucked, since she never listened to me, hence one of the reasons for our divorce…

Agreed. Balance can be established, easily, when both sides agree. Also, I'd love to hear your perspective on a lot of societal issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/19 04:43 PM

Zimself - that's a new one for me. Thank you, I'll use it. Yeah, I'm not a fan of anyone that judges based on orientation or identity. I get being angry at society and it being unfair. I'll stand next to anyone that wants equality. But singling one person out of an obvious consensual quad is just plain sexist. It's sad.
/r/MensRights22/04/19 08:56 PM
16

It's hilariously bad when the hetero couple of such a quad gets singled out. So what if the poly married couple has a gay male in their stable? That's not allowed? Once that happened, any chance of proving their socially progressive nature is gone.

Hold up. Not once did I say unattractive men. I said pretty assholes. Even called them out as just "assholes". I did not tell her to date unattractive men. I told her to stop dating "pretty assholes" and "assholes". Put another way, stop chasing narcissists and find someone who loves you and cares for you back. Attractive or unattractive is secondary to the equation, and entirely up to her perception.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/19 02:15 AM
5

Sure. But she's complaining about relationships where she's being treated poorly. If she wants that to end, then chasing pretty assholes has to end.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/19 11:11 AM
12

Oh Hey - I do! Quite chasing pretty assholes and find guys that are interested in who you are, not how you look. Don't get wrapped up in some pretty packaged 'oneitised' jackass. Find someone you can be friends with, someone kind, thoughtful and genuine that speaks the same love languages you do. Then start a relationship with them. If they love you too, then keep up each other's half. Keep chasing assholes, you'll keep getting assholes. Go find someone genuinely interested in you back.

Here's the write up from Business Insider; https://amp.businessinsider.com/how-cgi-works-in-jurassic-park-2014-7 The Triceratops was robotic, same with the Brachiosaurus in the tree, and a few if the Raptor shots. Any full shots of the dinosaurs were CG, including everything with the T-Rex.

As I drink my Himalayan Caramel laden coffee, the SO laments that I dared add a spoonful of the cinnamon flavored Starbucks blend to her usual Caffe Verona, that I almost always brew for us on Sunday mornings. "Is this coffee tainted", she asked me with a fake frown. "Just a little bit!" I countered. She walked away singing "Tainted Coffee" to the tune of Tainted Love. :D

Yep, I'm in a similar spot myself. We have the TP discussion often (only dirty heathens tuck the roll under, and drink their coffee without cream and sugar!). And while I've never heard that phrase before, I'll be using it a lot from here on. Thank you, PB! their inability to get past their one dimensional thinking. NOW THAT hit close to home! :D Yeah, I know. Boy do I know, and yes, it's genuinely a problem. But more interesting ground ends up being (and I hate using these terms because of how generalizing it is) "Chad" vs. the "Beta Male" you had. Everyone wants someone pretty and funny and way more attractive than they themselves feel that they are. Sometimes they find them, and they're both loyal, and live happily ever after. Or, Chad ends up being Chad, and the cycle continues. To quote the movie As Go…

Just your response that it's not morally acceptable to complain about one vs. the other. I personally have been called out for complaining about what can be called toxic femininity, and have been shunned, de-friended, etc for it. I've gotten into a half hour argument because I called myself an egalitarian vs. feminist. I've lost friends and social standing for daring to utter such things as "equality knows no gender". Hello JP, I respectfully disagree. While anyone can agree that shittyness knows no gender, when was the last time you heard the term "toxic femininity"? You probably haven't. But we know people are people, and being an asshole knows no gender. Next, let's hit the "majority of men" comment. Would they think that was a fun afternoon and do it if there were no consequences? Maybe - but that's moot. If you offered women the same amount of physical pleasure, with no consequences, of course they'd do …

The two investigations I read about were external to his organization. There's some pretty long term history to what's come out now. If anything, that allegation just pushed it from 'open secret everyone already knows about' to 'major liability and possible PR nightmare', that they decided it was their best interest to get in front of instead of play damage control from the standpoint of the show and entire network.
/r/MensRights30/11/17 05:55 PM

There were two separate investigations external to the network. This was probably well known internally, and once it got out, had to be dealt with fast.

What a person does to their own body as a fully functioning adult is perfectly fine. Want a giant pair of ears? Have fun! Need a new hole in your cheek? Good luck! But what grown adults do to children who have no faculty of their own is barbaric.
/r/MensRights21/02/17 03:50 AM
2

Even so, my point still stands. You can't be for one and against the other, and still be unbiased. If you are, your sticking with a religious custom that literally removes part of a human body because a several thousand year old custom said so. It's by definition barbarism.

Sure, and the rare possibility of skin cancer or other similar issues. But that's why we have modern medicine, and this wonderful little invention called soap.

No kidding! And it's been normalized in exactly two first(ish) world countries; Israel and America. I've read and researched all of the arguments, and there is NO medical reason to do this in a modern society.

Yes, but it's still medically unnecessary and potentially hazardous genital mutilation who's sole religious purpose is to cut off physical stimulation, particularly from masturbation.

The best reason I've heard of it done in the past was due to cleanliness. If you live in a desert several thousand years before the invention of soap, then yes, there's a decent chance that circumcision may be helpful. Anything in the last 300 years is questionable at best.

I've seen the exact same thing. And, once you incorporate that freedom into your own thinking, your opportunities among the upper class get cut off. It becomes a case of "play by our rules or be left aside". I see that changing, bit by bit, but I don't know how long it will take.

SteelCrossx is right - I've seen this in my own life. My ex-wife recently remarked how someone in her school (she's a teacher) remarked to her about the strange man who shouldn't be hanging around the children during the function that was going on. I was there, talking with my 14 year old son, his teachers, and his classmates. This attitude needs to change on a societal scale. It shouldn't be allowed. I read all of it. And I transposed it with my own experience, dealing with the issues that most MRA's are upset about. Think your position all the way through - and think about what you want for yourself, and your eventual children. Do you want them to have the same gender roles? Or would you prefer they live in a society where each sex was allowed to advance to their potential without said roles diluting that potential. That's how I see it. And so far, my children's decisions have vindicated my…

You're the one implying that men should have a say, which is insane. Then, because it is our body and therefore our own property, it should be entirely our decision to support the child, or not. Right? Cue the "Take responsibility, you deadbeat bastards!" Look, there's even a word in the English language literally meaning either the man who left or the male child that was abandoned. Have you experienced this personally? Because I have. I was blocked from having joint custody of my son merely because I had a job and she didn't. The state I lived in at the time was very conservative, and I was not allowed joint custody merely because I could provide money, while she stayed at home with her parents. Being in his life has been a long and arduous fight - one that's taken it's toll - but I did it. And if we both had it over to do it again, his mother and I would have done things …

Well said Arby. That's what we have to stand against. If we go all pitchforks and torches, all we'll get in return is "Help help, I'm being repressed!" If we present a strong argument outlining the bias and NON-FACTUAL commentary in this article, we can bring it back to the point of being useful information, instead of someones unnecessary and damaging social commentary.

Do you think most MRA's are misogynist? I've seen some, but it's not the majority. And yes, women do have privilege, particularly when it comes to reproductive rights and child custody post divorce. Do you disagree? I'm not downvoting you, that's what other people are doing. I want to hear your stance. Some MRA's are misogynist, just as some Feminists are msyandrist. What's your response?

Don't know if the OP is, but I was, and I can completely confirm this. If you are a divorced father in Idaho, you have no rights whatsoever. Those in the system will coach the mother to get the most out of you, while providing you the least amount of access to your children. My ex falsified a tax return during the process, and when I pointed this out, nothing was changed. If your a responsible, loving father - get the hell out of that state.

One thing to focus on - this is her failure, not yours. She didn't realize what she had, or how good her partner was. She may never realize it. But that's no longer your problem. How you take care of yourself and your children from here on out is your focus.

When it comes to court, which it will in your case, having proof of her psychological instability will help offset her accusations of abuse. Your endgame in all this is to provide a safe and stable environment for your children. She's going to do whatever she can to unhinge that from the sound of it. At the end of the day - forget her. Do what you can to get as much custody as possible, then give them the best life you can.

Feminism was originally started by those seeking equality and has since become the banner for "Why can't men be the way we think they should? Aren't they paying attention to our ideals?!" I know genuine feminists, and agree with them. I believe in true and genuine equality, or at least the understanding of each others rights and responsibilities by both sides. Real feminists hate this sort of behavior, since it degrades the work they've done and sets the argument back by decades.

Agreed. Gentlemen, fact of the matter is, we're going to get a lot better traction with the rest of society by welcoming our gay brethren into the fold. They've been fighting for equal rights for years. Helping them, being conscientious to their plight, and supportive to their cause, will only reap benefits for us in the long run. Incidentally, anyone straight male comfortable in their sexuality knows there is nothing to fear from an openly gay person. We have nothing to lose, and quite a bit to…

That depends on the uniforms. Amazonian chain mail bikinis are in fashion though. Joking aside, there's a huge inherent problem with this. The "Fairer Sex", while physically less capable then their equivalent weight male counterpart, is considerably more vicious given the same conditioning.

There's a very big problem of degree you touched on. A serial rapist will pick his targets carefully, but depending on what's going through his mind, he may or may not go with who is the easiest target. A 'rapist' who is looking for a quick (I hate this term) 'hook-up' isn't really looking to rape someone, they're trying to find something quick, cheap, and mostly consensual. The drunk girl at the bar by herself is an easy target, and if she wakes up the next day and isn't happy with last nights …

Less chivalry, less 'gentlemanly behaviour', less us catering to them as they continue down the 'all men are just immature boys, we're so much better, why can't they just be like us?' path. Between Oprah and 'desperate housewife' episodes, it's amazing any of them can think for themselves anymore. Society has gotten to the point where it's acceptable to empower women by disparaging men. Think about what that means.

Upvoted since I got a good laugh from the post. Well trolled. Yes I know - but I still get to laugh.

Wow. Poop jokes on church signs. Brilliant.

It depends. The problem is our society has gotten to the point that putting this on a sign isn't necessarily bad taste, while if you put the same set of statistics on a sign aimed at women, it would be considered inappropriate and tasteless. That's really the problem. How's this: "The average mother should be barefoot and pregnant, and always willing to follow her husbands decisions"? That one even has it's own biblical backing, but it's just not going to fly in modern society.

Actually, the average mother is slightly larger then that. As an average, sooo....

Hmmm. And in related 'news', women should be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen.

Seattle, sadly. Ever make it up North? ;) Men of my nature want a woman who wants to be with them, not needs someone. If we happen to make each others lives better, that's great - but I hate the idea of it being a necessity. I personally want a woman that's happy to see me in the morning. "Oh look, you're here, and I really like that." And of course, there is buying things, all that stuff. But making that secondary to communication, friendship and a mutually beneficial sex life is, to me, an imp…

Hi, I'm GeneralKang. When was the last time you were on a date, and would you like to go on another one? ;) Seriously, I know a small number of women like you. A strong, self determined woman is the sexiest thing out there to me -and I know I'm not the only one. Keep being incredible, know you have more admirers then you had before and maybe we can fix this generation one piece at a time.

Oh look, another "Womenz is smart, menz are dumb, arrogant, immature peepeeheads! And they smell funny and have kooties, too!" article. Where have all the good men gone? Well, no where near your catty, misandrist self. I think the irony is lost on this one.

Edit: Wall of text,I know. But now you can read it. Pretty decent sounding book. Male Like Me Review by DAVID KAMP Published: January 22, 2006 Don't judge this book by its cover. It features two photographs of the author, Norah Vincent. In the first, she's a brassy, attractive woman with short, upswept hair and a confident smirk on her face. In the second, she's done up in man drag, with poindexter eyeglasses, a day's worth of stubble and a necktie. There's your premise in a nutshell: assertive,…
