It's a logical fallacy, pure and simple. It was a clever statement at first for a brief laugh, but it's mindlessly repeated whenever a woman opens her mouth. It's one of Seddit's favorite thought-terminating cliches. We can disagree with a woman's perspective on attraction and seduction, but we must find logical reasons within her perspective. It's stupid to reject her viewpoints simply because of her gender. Not to mention it's condescending and sexist.

Also, most of them (even the very obscure works) are available for free in a variety of formats at www.gutenberg.org. Just download an e-book management program like Calibre to correct any formatting issues before sending it to your device.

While I agree with that quote, from a psychological standpoint it makes sense why people find it much easier being a different person when they're 1,000 miles away from their hometown. Even if you're at a coffee-shop where nobody knows you, if it's near your hometown, you'll still feel like your inside of your boundaries to a certain extent.

Oral herpes is pretty much inevitable. The worldwide infection rate may be as high as 90%, and for most people it causes just an asymptomatic latent infection. As for the other kind of herpes... well, wrap up.

I'd say it's a bit of both. And I'd add that hot girls act this way because in the past they've always gotten their way with this type of behavior. That reinforces these little temper tantrums into a common tactic for manipulating the actions of others. But that's why it works so well to not react to the temper tantrums. They have no idea how to respond, and more often than not they'll simply give up. Like dealing with a small child, the last thing you want to do is reward bad behavior.

Tyler represents an extreme, just like Mystery. These guys are like the top athletes of the pickup world, devoting most of their free-time and energy to the pursuit. During their learning phases, I'm sure Tyler and Mystery went out clubbing four or five nights a week for years. That's a tremendous commitment, one which daunts any amateur PUA. Sure, we all like getting laid. And yes, we'd like to get better at it. But a moderate approach is more appealing to me. Tyler is certainly an expert, so i…

It's neither pure charity, nor pure marketing. It's not hard to accept that Tyler genuinely enjoys helping other men achieve success with women, and that he has fun with making these videos. So, in that sense, it's somewhat charitable that he releases huge amounts of content for free on YouTube. And yes, it's also part marketing. What's wrong with revealing a glimpse of your product to potential customers? Your cynical attitude is completely uncalled-for.
/r/seduction01/02/13 04:58 PM

That's how he draws in his customers. Some in-field footage is floating around YouTube in various forms, but I've never seen anything more than a one minute clip. He probably restricts the release of such things in order to entice customers to pay for boot-camps. It's good business, but unfortunately not good for anyone who wants to see him operate but won't ever attend a boot-camp.

You still remind me of one of those suburban housewives who buys pre-packaged dinners and passes them off as made-from-scratch gourmet meals. Even if nobody calls them out, it's rather sad that they seek the superficial affirmation. Do you think I'm worried about what people think? You're the one pouring $10-a-handle booze into Patron bottles to impress people.
/r/seduction09/10/12 05:41 PM

It just seems very disingenuous. It's like someone driving around a kit car and pretending it's a real Ferrari. It might impress some people, but anyone with knowledge of the subject will simply label you a poseur. And what's the point, really? Just so everyone thinks you have tons of extra money to waste on flashy liquor? I wouldn't want to associate with someone that does this trick. I suppose if you're just trying to bed club fodder then it's worth trying. But it still seems... desperate.

How would you react if someone noticed? My circle of friends consists of many foodies, bartenders, and liquor fanatics, and I'd never be able to pull something like this.
/r/seduction09/10/12 06:24 AM

Great analysis. My main problem with this as an opener is that women will most likely wonder, "Why is this guy talking to me?" That seems like part of the reaction you received. There are so many other great openers. And especially during day game it's important to be more direct. This opener is neither direct nor pithy. It's just a long-winded observation. Fine for conversation, but pretty bad for opening.

This is exactly why so many PUA's recommend avoiding advice from women. She basically says, "If you're in a bad place, just stick it out and eventually someone will settle for you." She fails to realize that 70-80% of pick up is about self-improvement, not just with women but with life in general. And her attitude about someone being out of your league is absolutely nauseating. Nothing but prejudices and limiting beliefs.
/r/seduction01/10/12 05:55 PM

Great reply. I actually like this opener, but I wanted to be critical to get more of an explanation. Women love psychology topics, and I'd be surprised if this didn't receive a good reaction nine out of ten times.

You simply understand you're a valuable human being when you approach. That's like telling someone, "Just be confident." For most newbies that advice is meaningless and vapid. And simply having inner-confidence is pointless if you're unable to project that confidence onto the outside world—i.e. demonstrating value. I don't know why you're so hung up on the term demonstrating value. I'm willing to see this as a difference of semantics, though. You basically outlined what I saw as demonstrating va…

So which is it? You seem to be taking both sides. The way I see it, if you demonstrate no value, why would she want to know you? Demonstrating value isn't as simple as using gambits to show yourself as a leader of men or possessing an abundance of women. That's crude and formulaic. As you listed, there are many ways to demonstrate value even if we don't typically notice them consciously. So either we agree with each other or you're arguing for no reason.

I understand what you're saying. It'll always sound mechanical when discussed on a forum. But all I'm saying is that it seems odd to jump right into a story—it's like starting a conversation with someone at the mid-point. At the very least the OP should say something to open the conversation, even if it's just a token greeting or a quick observational remark. Then he can roll into the story. That's how normal people talk. Maybe it'd be a better opener if he asked her a question related to the to…

I'm a little skeptical. Don't get me wrong... I think it's a terrific thread for comfort, and maybe even attraction if you can add a story about traveling or add some humor. But as an opener? Seems like you're jumping into storytelling before even demonstrating your value.
/r/seduction01/10/12 06:33 AM

What exactly makes a statement a deal-breaker? Is it because the OP ruined the woman's romantic mood with a crass line? I can see a woman being immediately turned-off by such a line, but spitting in his face seems like evidence that she had some mental problems. Who the hell does that?

The three-second rule is a great one for beginners, like you said. But I agree with your philosophy on patience. If you adhere to the three-second rule religiously, it can make you seem like a dog barking at anything that moves. A confident man moves and socializes at his own pace. Just because someone enters a room doesn't mean he must immediately go over and talk to them.
/r/seduction29/09/12 03:11 PM

I'd say it's a form of conspiracy, which can be useful for building rapport. But it's probably best to avoid saying anything negative about the guy or veering into gossip territory. Good on the OP to praise that dude for having balls. In the long run it reflects better on yourself to only say good things about people. It's too easy to go for the cheap laugh by insulting strangers.

I like your phrasing much better than "Can I get your number?" That typical question lumps you in with every dork who's ever asked her for her digits. But would it be slightly better to suggest an idea for getting together, and then pulling out your phone and saying, "Give me your number and let's go to XYZ"? Then you avoid asking a question altogether. Perhaps I'm splitting hairs.

Go for it. You've no other option and if she ignores you or things fizzle out without meeting up in person, it'll be exactly the same result as if you never contact her.

Don't be pissed at yourself for doing what 90% of men don't have the courage to attempt. You won't be good at game simply by reading material. It takes practice and experience. You took the first step toward that. Keep going out and you'll sharpen your skills. Now you have a better idea what to expect and what to improve. Learn something everyday, and over time you'll be less afraid and more confident.

You're right. OP should just lie down and die. Clearly anyone who isn't a Nordic man of at least six foot stature is a pathetic worm in the eyes of women.

There's nothing wrong with using insider jargon. Any community with enough organization and popularity eventually uses acronyms and technical terms to facilitate quicker communication. In the pick up community often these terms are somewhat crude, but who really cares? As long as the idea is expressed effectively.

Not sure if I agree with this approach, even if you have diagnosed social anxiety. It might reinforce the problem in your mind, and cause anyone you meet to talk to you more out of sympathy than genuine interest. I feel it's better to get blown out and adjust your openers than to rely on this crutch. On the other hand, if this is the only way you can begin to approach people, then all the power to you. It's better to use a crutch to walk than not bother standing up at all.

Groups aren't as large as you think. Most people go in groups of three or four, and then merge with other groups as the night progresses. And you shouldn't let that deter you. If there's a group of eight women, they're probably carrying on three conversations at any given point in time. So essentially it's two four-sets or four two-sets—you get the idea. So if you want to open them, you're most likely only opening two or three women, not all eight. As you gain rapport with the first women, you c…

It's not bad, but the wording is a little awkward. I'd used something more like the opener used occasionally by PUAs: "You look like the good one and you look like the bad one."

Go to place that's very crowded so nobody has any idea that you came alone. Many routine-oriented pick ups involve mentioning your friends somewhere in the club, usually in the form of a time constraint. Just present yourself as a sociable guy and nobody will think you're there alone. The key is to enter a sociable mind-frame immediately. The longer you stand against the wall with a drink in your hand admiring the DJ's beats the more difficult it becomes to start a conversation with strangers.

Clubs and bars are target-rich environments for establishing your social skills. In one weekend you can approach dozens or even hundreds of women to practice opening or just introducing yourself. You can't do that in day game. That said, I agree with all the general complaints about clubbing. It's too fucking loud. It's expensive. Women put up their strongest defenses. You need to deal with other prowling men. Clubbing is ultimately more of a quantity game in my opinion. I'm not attracted to the…

They're not meant to be good, except in their own minds. The show is entertaining when you get some wanna-be ladies man thinking he's hot stuff, and he can barely open a two set. The show's tone is pretty mocking, and the producers probably intentionally find plenty of duds.

If you want to be cocky/funny you can't do it half-assed. Once you throw out a teasing statement or neg or whatever you want to call it, don't act embarrassed if she responds like she's insulted. Chances are she's not genuinely insulted. She knows you're kidding, unless your delivery was terrible. You have to ignore her response and quickly move past what you just said. If you present yourself as embarrassed and sullen, then it'll reinforce in her mind that you blundered. But if you responded wi…

When I wear a nice ass pants, a nice ass shirt, and gel my hair I don't do as well. I'm not trying to insult you, but perhaps your idea of dressing well makes you look like a typical club player looking for quick pussy. Dressing in gym shorts, however, presents you more casually without an ulterior motive, which causes women to open up.

I know the problem lies with not getting enough attraction before asking her number. You partly answered your own question. The other part is this: you need to build comfort, too. Unless she feels comfortable with your presence, she might feel safer not returning your phone calls—even if she's attracted to you.

If your friend doesn't want to have fun then there's no point to go out with him trying to have fun. Easy solution: don't go out with him. Fly solo, buddy. It takes some adjustment, but there are advantages which you'll soon discover. You won't be a "lone creeper" if you talk to people and meet new friends. You'll only fall into that category if you go out by yourself and stand in the corner of the club watching everyone while twirling your mustache.

The problem is that introversion and social anxiety frequently overlap. But the former is a personality trait, whereas the latter is a pathology which causes pain and suffering.

The important thing is to seek the help of a professional. There are plenty of psychiatrists who use cognitive behavioral therapy with or without the supplementation of prescribed drugs. Social anxiety is a very common and understood psychological pathology, and the first step to overcoming it is admitting the problem and seeking therapeutic help.

I'd like to point out that your conception is substantiated by psychological research, specifically relating to a concept called learned helplessness. In the above example, the overweight person labeling himself a slob and attributing that to a part of his personality reinforces his inert state—in other words, he deems his situation hopeless and unchangeable, and thus he remains in that state. But a confident person, one who believes in himself and evaluates his situation without negative emotio…

Compared to textbook PUA techniques and openers he definitely comes across as creepy. But I believe part of his apparent effectiveness is that he acknowledges the strangeness of the situation, usually within the opening line. Many of his approaches begin with something like, "Hey there! Don't panic. I'm not crazy or anything." I'd never use this line. But Sasha makes it work because of his persistence and mind-blowing confidence. He's also a master of maintaining his frame. I've seen many of his…

I might also suggest reading into the burgeoning field of positive psychology, which has great potential for improving one's life. Unlike NLP, it's a legitimate scientific field. It's simply a refinement of Maslow's famous research.

You nailed it with your analysis. It seems many of the most enthusiastic NLP supporters are filled with their own cognitive biases and delusions which prevent them from looking at their techniques and results in an objective fashion. It sounds very scientific because NLP supporters love borrowing language and terminology from various fields of psychology to bolster their credibility. This is what attracts many men to NLP. But it's a pseudoscience which at times veers completely into the realm of…

Obviously, like any reality TV show, what you see is a very edited version of actual events. But if you watch a few episodes of this show, you'll quickly accumulate a long list of what-not-to-do's which are not only entertaining but also somewhat helpful. If anything, it helps reiterate some of the principles of effective pick-up, which include approaching indirectly, using interesting stories that demonstrate value, and playfully teasing the target. Most of the dullards on this show consistentl…

Great application of online dating. I also see it as a supplement to actual interactions with people at bars, public transportation, stores, etc. If only it takes five minutes a day to check your messages and fire off a few quick replies, then it's definitely worth the extra few dates every month. I'm sure you agree that too many people replace real interaction with online dating, and aimlessly browse profiles for hours hoping to stumble upon the perfect match.

I second the extreme caution on this angle of attack. In fact, it's so treacherous, and there are obviously so many alternative topics for playful banter and teasing, that it'd foolish to poke fun at her weight. Make fun of her shoes, her handbag, her fake nails. But body weight is dangerous.

They can be great wings, albeit usually unwittingly. Simply being around another woman, and making her laugh and enjoy herself, is a great demonstration to other women that you're a likable person. In a bar, one decent-looking woman chatting with you is better than five guys.

I've never understood the animosity women carry around for men they don't know. I'd say at least in the case of attractive women that this results from constantly defending themselves from approaches. Think about how many times an attractive woman gets approached her entire life—all the staring at her cleavage, her legs, etc. They acquire their shields early in life.

Don't think about relationships as assignments or homework. You're still in college and you can't be worrying yourself about being alone at 45. That's ridiculous, and unless you realize the absurdity of your thinking, you're going to sink yourself deeper into your hole. Meeting women is about having fun and not taking things seriously. That's the essence of it. Crashing and burning is part of the process. As long as you learn something, and gain a little confidence with each interaction, that's …
