You partly answered your own question. The other part is this: you need to build comfort, too. Unless she feels comfortable with your presence, she might feel safer not returning your phone calls—even if she's attracted to you.

Dont just torpedo in , lock on the first thing you guys have in common, and ask her to bust out her cell. Most guys do this. As some practice, stay in set as long as you possibly can until your comfortable with it. Also best thing to do is to isolate. It's the only way you'll get to have a longer conversation with your target. If she wont at least sit down with you to have a one on one conversation, then the number will be worthless.
