Will check it out! I’ve been reading a lot of books recently and they’ve vastly improved my life when i began applying their lessons. Personally the one that really changed my life is Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck. Really fascinating read.

She didn’t give any alternatives? You probably waited too long and she’s moved on to the next. Cut your losses.

Wow that’s actually a great way to look at it.

Appreciate it, I will absolutely be using your advice and work on being more approachable.

Hey appreciate the kind words and good advice. From what I understand it’s a tough love community. ROBYoutube came at me the hardest and now he’s giving me the exact advice I’m looking for as someone who has a similar situation. You’re definitely correct though, something has to change in my approach haha.

I appreciate the advice! I used to really play the victim mentality back in the day and then it clicked and I realized it was me who is the problem. That’s when I decided to drop the weight. I didn’t mean to come off as whiny as this wasn’t really supposed to be a rant post but I get off track kinda often lol. I’m really just looking for advice that fits for someone like me.

Hey that’s fair, but I was talking about working on improving myself. I know there’s a lot of people who come to this subreddit to say that they can’t be this way, and I didn’t want to come off as a guy who was giving up. I am getting happier in my own skin, it just seems that my confidence isn’t following suit I had a buddy who told me “You lost 60 pounds your confidence should be through the roof.” I guess I just feel like I’m still a work in progress. I never liked celebrating too early.

I appreciate the advice coming from another big scary dude haha I used to work security in Atlantic City so I’m very aware of the resting bitch face I have haha, it doesn’t help that my ADHD causes me to space out with it on lmfao. I am usually having a good time when I get into the bar. I’m always shooting the shit with my boys. Anyways Could you be more specific about how you lower her guard?

Oh yeah I keep the dome clean shaven, went bald at 22 and haven’t gone back. I also used to trim the beard myself but I think I’m going to start going to a barber twice a month to make it look it’s best.

Thank you for the good advice, I have been wanting to work on my small talk more. I actually just read Better Small Talk by Patrick King which I’ve been using for dates that I get off Tinder. I actually didn’t connect the dots for using it at a bar 😂

Lmfao. I like you, you tell it like you read it. No I don’t come off a night depressed I let it bother me internally, (externally slightly for a couple minutes if I’ve drank a little too much) but I don’t let it control my night. I just end up giving up for the rest of the night and hang with my boys. It doesn’t make sense! That’s why I’m trying to tailor an approach that works for me.

Brother we need to change that attitude. I believe you got it in you.

Okay OP, I like the idea but I’m a more learn by example kinda guy and no offense but the do what she doesn’t expect thing doesn’t really give me the visual I need. Let’s say for the Jack Harlow approaching Saweetie. What would be the proper way to respond to Saweetie’s comment?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
