Went out to a bar this weekend with some friends. Small beach town and I’m trying to get better at handling rejections. I realize consciously they’re not a big deal and they’re not personal, but I still don’t have the subconscious part down, even though I know they’re going to reject most people, you know I still end up losing the confidence after a rejection or 2. The worst is when I approach and then they look funny and turn away. It makes me feel less than human.

For context I got out of a relationship last year, dropped 60 pounds strictly cardio and calorie counting (still slightly overweight) and am now hitting CrossFit 5-6 days a week and counting macros. Unfortunately I’m still not attractive in the face. Doesn’t help that I’m Bald and not jacked (yet). My pluses are I have height on my side (6’5”), I make just under 6 figures at 26, and when I’m not nervous I’ve got a good sense of humor. I know the key is having confidence, and I’ve accomplished a good amount at my age, but how does one attain confidence when it still feels like there’s nothing to be proud of? Anyone have any tips for me that are more specific than fake it? Cause I’ll keep trying that but I think people can see right through that.

Look I’m no where close to giving up, I’m going to keep going until I make it or die from old age. Also possibly important, I have ADHD I’m diagnosed and medicated and I’ve been reading about Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, I think it’s possibly something I’ve dealt with for a long time. So does anybody have any ADHD specific tips as well?
