Yes. Leave all emotion at the door as best you can. She will do and say some off the wall shit to gain advantage. Be prepared for that. The less you react emotionally the more likely she is to shoot herself in the foot. Mine is racking up the bad faith actions and is delineating a clear pattern of duplicity all on her own. I’m just letting her do her thing and the calmer I stay the more desperate she gets. If this does get to litigation, I’ll have a phone book size folder to show the judge.

And that is what people don’t understand about private practice lawyers. It’s a job to them. No different than a contractor or barista. You are forgotten once the checks stop coming then it’s on to the next customer.

Smart play. I’m so glad my girls are grown but she is still trying to drag them into it. The older one leans on her heavy and our business. The younger one at least sees through the bullshit. I’d say to you just live like it’s already over and get into co parenting mode. Good luck to you as well.

Mine is pretty much the same when it comes to decision making. She would rather be presented with options that she can veto or modify. Just keep throwing deals at the wall where you get the same outcome just with different details. Her lawyer will talk her into it. Sorry you have to live together through this. I couldn’t imagine. It has been much easier to focus on my future and make decisions without walking on eggshells anticipating her next criticism or door slamming episode

Man I went through this exact thing after a 26 year marriage and am now being ghosted like I’m some kind of abuser. Even if she does tell you it probably won’t be the whole truth so my advice is to not waste your time. Here is the kicker..once you stop asking/pursuing she will probably be reaching out wanting to tell you what you want to know. That seems to be the way shit works with difficult women. Best of luck to you man. Hang tough.

Ready to have your mind blown? She has a doctorate in education. No BS.

I second this. Don’t know what city you are in but in 98% percent of the country $4k can get you a nice place to live. If you can’t move just pay the $4k and don’t lift a finger to do anything. If it’s not expressly stated in the agreement it isn’t your job. Bare minimum until you can split. And split ASAP!

I hope you are feeling better this morning, man. The fear of being alone is a mother fucker, but you can get through it. This shit comes in waves, but I’ve found the waves get smaller as more time goes by. You stay strong for that boy and put yourself out there as much as you can. Wander around event spaces with a ton of people. If someone looks approachable, compliment their outfit, their vibe, something funny you overhead them say, etc. I’ve found that approach works more than half the time on…

Mine dropped a bomb on me like that on vacation in March. The pain and fear you feel after such a long time is truly eye opening. For me, it got so bad I just had to lean into it and process the emotions right when they come. Been 3 weeks now and I’m still doing that but it’s getting a bit better. These flooded feelings are going to come. My unsolicited advice is to deal with them now. I’ve been through some tragedies in my life and have learned that what you think is the end of world today, isn…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
