Any specifics as to what’s going on? I am actually starting mediation in a couple weeks so I’m curious.

Hopefully you have a lawyer, but yes she is required to disclose everything just like you. Just make sure you do your part or the judge will see you as a liar. Chances are someone in this group has had very similar circumstances to your own and could give more specific advice if she is trying to hide stuff, but a lawyer would be your best bet.

A judge will know what you are up to. It gives her ammunition against you. Just because she is amicable now doesn’t mean she won’t change her mind and drag this out till you bleed your pockets dry. Just be sure to fully disclose all info, you have a right to half of whatever she has in those accounts so it’s a fair deal. You can also try to agree on her keeping those accounts and you keeping said property legally. It’s not worth getting caught in something and the judge doesn’t know anything abo…

Thanks for this. It really put some perspective on the other side of who will eventually date me. The whole jealousy and and the STBXW not wanting there to be another “Mom” for our daughter will definitely be a huge issue.

It’s crazy how you mentioned you are learning about healthy boundaries with your therapist. This last Tuesday with mine she was talking to me about my past relationships and my marriage and is teaching me how to set healthy boundaries now. Must be a more common issue than I had ever thought. Cheers to healthy boundaries then!

Thanks for this friend. The feedback definitely helps! Time to focus on myself I guess.

I’m in Arizona though I’m not sure exactly how it works here with fault but definitely makes sense. Thanks for the input. Can’t wait for the divorce to be final.... but I guess I should consider myself lucky I’m still young.

You make good points. Im not worried what people think of me, just that word gets back to her and she makes this process 100x worse. I’m not exactly excited to date again but just wanting to meet new people and have a social life again. Been working from home since March and won’t be back in the office at least until next Summer so that’s been difficult from missing all my friends on my team at work. I’ve been going to a counselor to work on myself and be the best version I can for my daughter a…

This will most likely be super dependent on what the situation was like when you were together before but my STBXW made me so depressed and a worse person and for that alone I would never. I could go on with more info but just try to reflect back and think of what it was before and what would have to change in the relationship in order for things to works out. If it’s not likely to work out my advice would be stay far away from letting that thought marinate in your mind.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
