I hope you are correct. The parallel I see with some 20th century movements that became dangerous is development of a unifying ideology and convergence of disparate groups behind a leadership. At present I don’t see leadership capable of taking on that role, but that doesn’t mean leadership won’t emerge. Keep eyes open. Understand but don’t ‘follow,’ don’t wear somebody else’s uniform. There’s nothing wrong with self improvement as long as it remains individualized and not part of a hierarchy.

Look around. TRP is rapidly becoming a movement, complete with slogans, philosophy, villains and heroes. This is where it can potentially become dangerous. We’re not there yet, but it’s starting to show early signs of following past movements that I will leave unnamed. All began with a shared feeling of oppression. Always remember regarding “studies”… there’s lies, dirty lies, and statistics. Almost any study can be slanted. Plenty go so far as to have the title directly contradict the data presented inside. I read a lot of “studies.” The majority aren’t worth the digital ink they’re printed in. I am not saying your hypothesis is wrong. The toilet swirl appears to be accelerating downward. I will take the opposite position to some here. As parent of two children who are now in college, there is some value to it beyond directly marketable job skills. So many young people are graduating high school these days with poor writing skills, poor knowledge of history, inability to do basic math, and a poor understanding of the world. I remember being bored out of my mind with girls my own age through my mid 20’s. Fortunately it got better eventually. I went through this too. I believe most if not all women have some of these traits, though it’s getting worse. Ask any seasoned psychiatrist and you will hear about the rapid rise of BPD. I agree with everything except the brick. Spend a few bucks and get some decent synthetic stones and a flattening stone. They’ll last several lifetimes. Some come with two grades on the same stone and you flip it over. A ceramic honing rod, a set of plastic angle guides, and you’re good to start learning. Don’t practice on your finest knife. Learn different honing strokes and different bevels for different steels. Burrfection got me started a few years ago… great channel.
