Once it's sold. It's pending now. If everything goes through we're to be out by Jan. 9th. At which point she's renting a place without me. The divorce wont be final by then. I've been unemployed for a year now - not sure about many jobs i've applied to, but I recently found 163 rejection emails if that's any indication. I was making 120k, now I'm seriously considering minimum wage ... I have money in the bank, but FL has a 3x income rent requirement and I need to be making at least 70k to qualif…

Yo - we're selling our home and my wife wants me to get my own place once it's done. If I do, I'd fall into that same "weekend dad" situation. But I can't force her to include me on the rent application or give me keys. How should I proceed?

Ditto. We bought a new tesla and installed a charger, bought a puppy, was planning a vacation to ruby falls ... then she comes back from a business trip to vegas talking about how we got married too young. Asks for a divorce 3 weeks later saying she's been planning to ask for a long time. ... Of course it was a fucking sleezeball. From the moment she mentioned being married too young I was on high alert. The signs were all over the place, clear as day. I just didn't want to accept it. Kept comin…

The most hurtful thing you can do is stop caring. (which isn't to say don't care about hurting her feelings - but to shrug off her vile behaviors. Rise above it. Focus on you.)

Denial and compartmentalization. Not exactly a healthy option. But the situation is hurting less and less with time. Though, we're 3 months into it and I still struggle to maintain my composure sometimes... IDK, but I imagine my situation is somewhat abnormal. We're still very loving towards each other. We hug, kiss, say I love you, talk nonstop, etc. just like we did before divorce was a topic. She very clearly has doubts. It even feels like we've made it through this rough patch some days. The…

In mine it doesn't matter. Attorneys are vague about the "rare cases" that it does.

Honestly man, it sounds like you're lucky to be getting out of that situation. Crazy never works out.. Then again, I had married my soon to be ex specifically because she wasn't crazy. Very wholesome and level headed. Yet, here we here...

Spoke to one today. $200 consult. $4,000 retainer. He only does mediation; said he's only had to refer 3 for litigation in the 5 years since he stopped litigating. Does that sound reasonable ? I have no idea.

If you knew the details you'd agree. I've been a sorry sack of a husband for a while. Even my own father is passed at me for letting shit get this far... But still, I know how people can be about this sort of thing. When it comes to bar talk I'll probably just stick with "married to young" and mutual...

She spoke to one 2 days after divorce was first mentioned. As far as I know, it was only the initial consultation. She has only asked about one of my 401ks but I haven't provided anything yet. (I guess forgetfullness can have its upside.) A problem I have is that her mother has ... substantial resources. But more than that, we've always earned about the same. Any alimony I'd get would only be until I finally get back on my feet. Letting lawyers scalp us for that seems less than ideal.. What my w…

Normally this sub doesn't bother me too much, but this post is really pretty disgusting. She shouldn't have hit him, but condoning (much less applauding) his response makes you a horrible human being. Dude calling the cops and have assault charges successfully filed would have been the right amount of "denied"...

This is why I think public defenders should be a part of all interactions with police from the very beginning. Not an option. Especially when it comes to minors and handicapped people.

I learned a long time ago that favoritism overrides logic in most cases. If people like you they will forgive and even defend you for insane shit, and if they don't like you they will, at best, stand by and watch you burn when they know it's not right. Of course there are exceptions, but in most small/isolated groups this seems to be the rule.

I've known of it to happen, and have known people to know their own tales as well. One was the head of IT for a company ran by a bunch coked out party animals. The stories he has...

Link to the real story, please? I refuse to judge until I know more. Did they force him to take the drugs or have the sex? Trick him into it? Was there DMT involved? Did they physically restrain, bribe or blackmail him? Was there a weapon involved? If none of these things, and he simply took some drugs and agreed to party with a middle aged couple, then I wouldn't call it rape ever - not even if we're talking my own daughter. And doing so cheapens the word "rape" IMO. Are there issues with statu…

I read it the other way: that your tiny action is still partly responsible for the outcome. If that water drop stayed in it's place and did nothing, then it wouldn't have been involved in the flood.... Either way, agreed: not my flood.

I feel ya... I wasn't banned, but I once took the time to elaborate on why the "fact and numbers" being presented in an article were misleading, and got the comment deleted.... I even provided cites sources, none from huff-post or the likes, either. Since then I just don't bother trying to have any resemblance of a real conversation there. It's pretty much pointless as far as reddit sub's go.
