How to win friends and influence people I recommend people without a lot of time on their hands just read the Wikipedia page instead. This is true for a lot of self-help books.

I grab her and pull her Like a physical grab? I'm imagining something "Get over here"-Scorpion style. Either case, great confidence, well done!

I think PUA material is actually about this most of the time.

I noticed that blip too. Probably AOL (back when it was a BBS), newsgroups other such things?

Well that sounds to me like "why oppose the hivemind? just move along silently and don't voice your opinion if you disagree". No, thank you. I'm seeing this subreddit being overrun by douchey kids (like all of reddit), and I will go out kicking the door behind me if I want to. I thought the joke was crude and a bad mindset to encourage.

A lot of stuff gets repeated here anyway, so that's not such a great sin. And she brings some good new things, like how some classic openers can be very awkward nowadays, not being panicked about oneitis or how to calibrate negging appropriately. Certainly nothing she says deserves the response she's getting is my point.

JESUS FUCK PEOPLE. I'm not a white knight, but 80% of these comments seem to be made by... what's the antonym of white knights?... prepubescent boys? You all seem scared of girls barging into your treehouse club or something. She makes a great summary of a lot of good points. Yeah, there are a few you don't agree with, and a few I don't agree with either. Stop going all "nanana, you're a girl, I can't hear you" and just explain about the ones you don't agree with. Fucking hell.

That the fast approach doesn't work on all girls no matter how artfully done is a valid point that is often forgotten, you shouldn't be downvoted for bringing it up.

Yeah, me too. So much lost by trying to look good to this or that or the other (imaginary) person in my mind...

Something no-one is mentioning yet is make up some small unusual fact that comes up into a ridiculous funny scenario, with a bit of acting thrown in. So if she says "my landlady always locks all the doors in the house at night", your story can be "so what if you really have to go to the bathroom? do you scratch at the door and say 'oh, please, please, please, let me go pee!'". That sort of thing. Your 4chan mind should come in great for this.

Sarcasm is not great humour... It feels to me like it's humour for those too afraid to say things directly. It also eats away at the feelings of trust, because you teach the other person to consider twice what you're saying.

Interesting. I wonder if it's because subconsciously they'll pit you against their former boyfriend. Even though she consciously hates him and appreciates you, the fact that he's "badder" than you makes her sexual attraction for you die.

I hate your first line, but I agree with the rest of your comment, and it makes a good point. Even the first line does really, it's just a little harsh and limited.

She played it very well. Lots of moments you could see that it was circling the drain but for some reason she still tolerated him. She somehow kept it pretty real, given the circumstances. The actual "seduction" was cringeworthy so many times though.

It's not quite so simple. The necessity for betrayal can spoil the romance of the situation for a lot of girls, and it will lead to reproaches and mistrust. I've pushed the jealousy play too far in a few cases in the past and had to learn the hard way to cut that out. A little bit is magic dust of course, but there is such a thing as too much.

...but also dangerous, if there is misunderstanding on whom is the main interest.
/r/seduction10/04/12 11:02 PM

Yeah, I think this isn't really very good advice, besides the part about remaining emotionally steady. What is necessary is to learn what is attractive and what isn't, and try to do the attractive ones naturally. With time you discover there are good, mature, reasons for why you would do them.

Exactly what Zapdos said. It's just so coercive and assumptive. Like asking "are you feeling pretty?". Fuck you how I feel. People don't normally "have a good time", they just hang around and hopefully get little spurts of "good time". Talking about it doesn't help, either way, especially not with strangers.

"Don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness" sounds sorta good and it applies in some situations, but I don't think gate-crashing people's parties is one of them.

Wait, let me get this straight, I think I'm having an epiphany here. So, really hot girls live in a slight bubble of isolation because guys either avoid approaching them, or they do it in really nasty ways (expecting vicious shoot-downs)? And, therefore, above-averagish girls, being judged by all males as the optimum tradeoff between obtainability and attractiveness are in reality among the least obtainable, because they get approached the most? This changes things a little.

We demonstrate we can fluidly and skill fully navigate the world, we can gain respect and recognition by good at an activity, we can make things happen by paying for them, we can navigate through the social arena with the proper words, gestures, and timing (you helping the couple with directions, or trying :), and we can make the girl feel like the steps of seduction are something that we know the route for, so that is just natural for her to respond to. This paragraph is a fantastic summary of …

Are you sure she's rejecting you? Maybe she's talking about something else and you are jumping to the interpretation that it's about your relationship? I would just ask "what are you talking about?" and just generally not make a big thing out of it.

I think we have similar styles of humour, but I'm missing all that practice. I'll make room for it somehow. This is too valuable to miss. Your coffee shop sounds like it's been a great training ground (or one of them), and you've really made the best of it. Well done. Thank you for the links!

You are my god. Shine your wisdom upon me, lord! :) Seriously, you've got the perfect attitude to life I'm aiming for (and am so so far off yet). Are you always in the playful/imaginative mindset or do you have to let yourself into the groove? Any sources you can recommend, besides Greene's stuff (didn't know of it, will check out, thanks). Again, seriously, I think I've just realised what I should be aiming for. Thanks.
