These are all excuses I’ve heard from my addict ex. “Why are you so mad at me? I’ve never raised my hand to you, never called you stupid, never cheated! You have no reason to be such a [whatever insult he felt would cut most].” Nodding out from whatever the cap was cut with, saying he’s “just tired because I’m the breadwinner”; hiding track marks; expensive gifts to hide big spending on drugs; alienating from the family because they don’t understand. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Yep, having dealt with addicts my whole life, this reads like an addict. “I’m just tired,” no, homie, you’re nodding out.

Horse women get shit on constantly by dudes. Constantly. Now, I’ve yet to meet a neurotypical horse woman, but I adore those ladies. I’ve yet to meet one who wasn’t strong, fantastic at communication, intuition, and setting boundaries. There are men out there absolutely terrified of the fact that we don’t take bullshit from a 1200lb animal, and that we have no similar issues voicing objections to them. I’ve had men get mad at me for having a male horse (gelding) because “how could theirs look bi…

Oh my sweet summer child, I’m afraid that allergens are a ‘hoax’ to a fair number of people. :(

I remember that horrifically tragic story from yonks ago, from when an entitled grandmother kept putting coconut oil in the granddaughter‘s hair, and the little girl died from it. I honestly do not understand the thought process. I really don’t. What gives these people the belief that they know better and that it’s ok? If someone could explain the thought process to me, that’d be great.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/09/20 06:09 PM
25

Man, I’ve had people try to ‘spike’ me with a very bad allergen of mine (stage 4, it’s deadly), all because they thought they knew better, or somehow didn’t believe I was allergic. It is so terrifying when someone tampers with your food to purposefully place an allergen in it. This is literally one of my worst nightmares. I’m not sure how this isn’t a criminal offense; it feels like malicious intent to me (disclaimer: NAL).

Actually, I found that most of the people I arrested lived within sight of a school or college, depending on their targets. They might have been technically out of the zone, but they have ways around it. Childcare locations, after school programs, looking over church playgrounds. These chomos are pretty cunning, don’t underestimate how many there are of them out there.

I don’t know how your state or country’s registry works; every state I’ve lived in (and country) has been different. I just followed the prompts* on my state’s website.

Way ahead of you! Again, I used to wear a uniform and work on human trafficking cases. Thankfully, sending a screenshot of my neighbor’s alert moved my mum’s opinion on all my precautions from “paranoid” to “quite sensible, really”!

It tells you exactly what happened, where it happened, how old he was at the time, and details of the term served. It even lets you know their level; this case, Tier 3. The first line on the summary was “the criminal offense involved the forcible act of sexual intercourse”, and that “the registrant was a stranger to the victim”. Leaves no doubt!

I’m not sure how the website would work in your state or country, I’m sorry! I just followed the prompts on the webpage.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/08/20 06:59 PM

Because it’s very easy to fall into victim blaming at that point. It’s ultimately up to men to stop raping women, not for women to make sure they validate all the tick boxes so it’s “not their fault”. That said. I think it’s just common sense to know who to avoid in an area. ETA: in case it wasn’t BLINDINGLY clear, it is NEVER the victim’s fault.

No more than most men. Just that I found it strange that an apparently handsome, intelligent, successful man was single. I mean, this dude is seriously charming. And then surprise! An answer courtesy of the state government.

I’m so sorry, it’s terrifying when you experience something like that. I’m a rape survivor, and used to work child/human trafficking cases. The world is not a pretty place, and I hate that so many women have similar stories.

I am 100% the handy one of the two of us. Fixing/installing livestock fencing, mowing, building furniture, renovating houses? No problem. Also do all the sewing, cooking, and gift making/buying. Luckily the Mr is interested in learning. He grew up in an urban environment, while I grew up on the farm. I had more opportunities because I followed my dad around and learned when I was a kid. I am proud of the time I spent in uniform... but it was not easy. I gained a huge amount of confidence in myself, learned incredibly valuable life skills, but I fought for every little shred of respect from the men under my command. It was the making of me, but you’ve got to have the self confidence and ability to compartmentalize everything. You will go through hell, you will be broken down and built up, and you WILL face adversity. It’s up to you on how you handle it.

Honestly it’s a generational thing, I think. My mum grew up in a world where no one locked their doors; I had to explain to her very carefully what certain things indicated. The naive older lady to the T, she would also 100% tell my new neighbors identifying information.

I’ll never forget the time my dad told someone I was adopted and their reply was “smart, no wonder your wife aged so incredibly well.” I couldn’t have been more than 7 or 8, but it stuck with me. I still wake up with nightmares. Haven’t been able to bring myself to watch ‘You’*. Read ‘Bone Music’ by Christopher Rice and got up to check my doors and windows three times that night. You don’t just waltz away from that experience. It’s terrifying, dehumanizing, and honestly one of the most horrific things I’ve ever experienced. It’s not freaking glamorous. It’s deadly for a lot of women.

It’s also a way that people use you to drink the contaminated drink. It’s one surefire way to roofie people; have them drink it out of social pressure, under their watch so they know you drank all of it. It’s all about control. Don’t take any chance of being drugged. The coercion. Also, the way he talks about mental health concerned me. He’s currently doing 10 years for the DUI charge, so with luck there will be a talented shrink there. I’m not hopeful.

Absolutely. Never be without *your own ‘oh shit’ money. I was able to get out of an abusive relationship by having my own secret stash, and I don’t think I’d be here without it. Never, ever, EVER rely on someone else for your sole survival. Be that your relatives or your partner, always have something that allows you to exit in an emergency.

Unfortunately, I tend to fit their MPDG aesthetic without being too alternative, so you know ‘you’re cool but not like, weird’ (direct quote, FML). So I get a lot of the ‘hey, Ramona Flowers’, and ‘you remind me of Belle, can I be your Beast?’ BS. Im really not surprised, at this point.

It’s all good, just wanted to clarify! I’m honestly a little shocked at the replies; was not expecting the ‘holier than thou’ attitudes of some. We are ALL WOMEN. All of us! We deserve better across the board, ladies, and if you believe you’re better than another woman because of her job YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. Do not assume that you are worth more to these men because they don’t pay you. Madonna or Magdalen, we all suffer.

I’m sorry, I’m not sure you understood my post. I’m not condoning this behavior; I’m condemning it. I think the attitude of ‘why get a gf when you can have escorts’ is just... sick. ‘Fills you with hope’ was actually supposed to be super sarcastic, but my fault for not putting ‘ /s’.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/01/20 01:11 PM

Agreed! I thought the ‘Fills you with hope’ title was obviously sarcastic enough, but I’m starting to think it wasn’t. Just really hate that this was the take on the entire gender; ‘why bother with them, they’re only good for sex’.

The diamond was a gift from Queen Elizabeth I, and Sir Walter was an extremely ambitious man. The quote is him saying that he has ambition, but is worried about the consequences; feeling out Elizabeth’s reaction to a possible proposal. Yessss! Also, I’m genuinely 5’9. I’ve turned up to so many dates where dudes have said ‘oh, I’m 5’9 or 5’10’ ... buddy, if you’re 5’9 that makes me 6’. I don’t hold something that someone can’t control against them. It’s not their fault they didn’t grow. However, if they’re willing to lie about their height, what else are they going to lie about?

Let alone how much everything in my vanity set me back, just so the world doesn’t think I’m lazy slob; women have to wear makeup to be seen as professional, and that’s not cheap!
