"The girl that got away" = "the girl that escaped"

That is a very reasonable and understandable reason for leaving someone.

Check out PBS documentaries! They have a couple great series on Black history.

I'm sure he had a blowjob on his mind. I just can't fathom the thought process that leads one to go: "I know what will probably have a high rate of success! I should cold message an ex I haven't seen in years who I probably irritated during our relationship and proposition her for sex! How could she say no?"

There's a generation of mixed-race kids in the Philippines right now who are growing up without the western white guys who fathered them. These guys exploit whatever poor women they can pick up from the slums and then bounce and never look back. It's horrific and disgusting.

I have heard so many men refer to "the one that got away." I have never heard a woman use this phrase. If anything, the majority of women I talk to express relief that they're no longer with a certain guy. Tells you everything you need to know about people's priorities.

Basically. White America has never taken an honest look at its past the way, say, Germany did. There's still plenty of white Southerners who defend the Confederate Flag as "their culture." Slavery officially ended 150 years ago but forced labor, Jim Crow laws, and anti-miscegenation laws continued long into the 20th century and ensured black people couldn't get ahead economically or enjoy full political representation. That affects society at all levels, including the entertainment and beauty in…

People complaining she's a gold digger and I'm like, "She was already a multimillionaire by the time she met Prince Harry?" Folks are desperate to find any excuse to slag her, and none have held water.

So sick everyone acting like Meghan forced his hand or some shit. Like he's a child who can just be ordered what to do and has no input into his own life. The guy is a retired military officer, led his men in combat, and is Nth in line to rule a country, but we're to believe the man can't make a decision for himself. Assholes reeeeeeally don't want to believe that a woman (let alone a black woman) could be successful on her own merits and be so awesome that a prince would want to build a life wi…

Her before and after photos are incredible. She literally looks like she de-aged 30 years and her after photo could be her daughter. Good for her.

Depends. Mostly gig jobs and "self-employment" (i.e. Working under the table for everything from construction to stripping.) Everyone I met didn't seem to care about anything beyond partying and the next payday.

In my experience, yes. Adults in general don't know how to adult in Portland, and the women in particular have no standards and will fuck any loser who talks to them.

I was shocked how many people in Portland couldn't pay their bills but would excitedly tell me they just bought tickets to Burning Man. Which sums up the city's mindset in a nutshell. I wrote a comment the other day that Portland attracts losers who settle in life. I could not understand how so many men in Portland (unemployed Peter Pans with nothing to offer) were getting laid until I met the women.

He is. Check my user history. He's the guy whose apartment was ground zero for such bad toxic mold that the health department condemned the property and he lost everything he owned. His wife gained 100 pounds after they married from the stress of dealing with him and now rolls her eyes whenever he opens his mouth, but she's still married to him.

I have yet to see a poly relationship that wasn't dysfunctional or abusive. I thought I knew of one, but the main couple is now getting a divorce so. Also had 2 guys who cheated on me and then said, "But babe, I'm poly!" Yeah, dude, without informed consent of all parties involved, that's called cheating. And so, so many gross poly couples who assume they can hit on me and don't hear the word no. Now I'm highly suspicious anytime a couple professes interest in being friends with me.

If it's any consolation, he's totally a guy who causes rolled eyes whenever he walks into a room, but he's likely too hung up on himself and convinced of his own greatness to notice. Met a few dudes like this before. The insufferable, smug attitude can be seen from space by 99% of the population.

His user history is a dumpster fire. He reeks of NPD tbh, including the word salad and straw man arguments designed to browbeat you until you submit.

I particularly like the guy throwing a tantrum in the comments and telling a rape survivor "sorry if you feel you were raped." What a putz.

"nobody wants to grow the fuck up." You put it perfectly. Until I visited Portland, I had never in my life met so many middle-aged adults who were satisfied with roommates, illegal sublets, gig jobs and chronic unemployment, living hand to mouth, 40-years old and still thinking their garage band was gonna make it big. Even the frat boys I knew in college had more motivation.

NYC is amazing. Lots to do and full of people who want more out of life. From the sound of things, you'll love it.

Portland attracts losers for some reason. I love the city but would never want to live there. Lot of grown ass adults in their 30s and 40s who are still living like they're teenagers. No interest in bettering themselves whatsoever, living hand to mouth just because they don't want to work. Portland's a weird town.

I was 26. He let me think he was in his 30s. (Lie #1. I later found out he was in his 40s!) Within 2 months (red flag), he was telling me he loved me (red flag) and wanted me to move across the country to be with him (red flag). I'd been friends with him for 2 years before we ever hooked up and thought I knew him well. It wasn't until after everything that I realized I actually knew very little about him. (Red flag.) Literally the same week he said he loved me, he cheated in front of me at a par…

As soon as I read "Portland", I felt sympathy pains for you. The worst man I ever dated was from Portland, and that's saying a lot because I could repopulate hell with the losers I've dated. Lot of unemployed manchildren in Portland.

Actually cheated on him with Big, if I recall. Aiden couldn't move on from it (understandably!) and had the self-worth to dump Carrie, who was devastated. Later, when she and Big were getting married, Big stood her up at the alter. So yeah, she literally threw away a good man for a guy who stood her up on their wedding day.

I've had more than one ex tell me this and I laugh every time. Are they expecting us to feel sorry for them?

I had an ex who's like this. He abused me, then got a taste of his own medicine when he ghosted me for a girl who abused him. She tortured the living shit out of him between abuse and infidelity, then ended up in prison for a felony. Everybody says he was traumatized by the relationship and he now tells people I'm "the one that got away" and that he ruined the best thing he ever had (me). He tried texting me a while ago but I just blocked him.

His apartment was ground zero for the worst toxic mold infestation the Health Department had seen in 30 years. Ex lost everything he owned including family heirlooms. The skin on his hands sloughed off from mold exposure. The building was condemned. You couldn't go into the place without a hazmat suit. Ex and his wife spent two years in a lawsuit for restitution. It was a legal nightmare and when it was over, they didn't even get the fortune Ex was expecting. Ex has finally graduated college at …

My money's on he's still married to an unsuspecting wife, but he'll have a sob story that they sleep in separate rooms and are "practically divorced" because she hasn't fucked him in years.
