Nope, never had blue hair or any artificially colored hair. Long, wavy blonde hair down to my waist. No tats, piercings other than ears. No glasses, I shave my legs, and wear makeup every day. I also wear dresses or skirts every day. I often wear heels. I'm chubby tho (like many people over 40) and working on it, but it's mostly in my butt and boobs. I identify as a feminist, but I think the definition of feminism has really changed since I went to college in the 90's. There are lots of differen…

I am a professional opera singer and specialize in playing unhinged villains, so people tend to find that interesting and ask a lot of questions. I save my drama for the stage, though. In real life I am quite placid. I've cultivated an outgoing persona due to my career, even though I'm an introvert at heart. I adore cooking for people, especially my partner, British comedy, true crime, thrift stores, Shakespeare, museums and classical music. I like weird craft projects and taking trippy photos i…

Thanks so much for your well-articulated and intelligent response. I may respond in greater depth later, when I am not stoned. I just wanted to wish you well, and let you know that- even if what you say about my gender is true, know that some of us are trying our best. Truly.

When Don Jose dumped Michaela for Carmen, was that hypergamy? Cosi fan Tutte can be interpreted a thousand different ways. I've seen stagings of this opera where it is obvious the women are onto the trickery of the men from the beginning and are just playing along. Cosi is much more complicated than simply "all women are like that."

Have you seen this opera in full production? I cannot fathom walking away from the entire opera thinking that Verdi's point was that women are fickle. Gilda remains solid in her love and bravery. The duke is a very weak character indeed.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/15 02:05 AM
1

Right, the incorrigible cad sings this, while the ever-faithful Gilda prepares to sacrifice her life for the guy. It's obvious the duke is the one that is flighty as a feather. Context is important here.

In the original play, Suzuki stops Cio-cio San from killing herself, and they escape with the boy. They raise him together, without any man. Crazy, huh?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/15 09:50 PM
1

There is so much more to figaro than hypergamy! The servants outsmart the nobility, it was Beaumarchais' clever play that fed the fires of the French Revolution. What's more, the original play was incredibly feminist for the time.

I'm blue and have worked in the field of opera and classical music for 20 years. Good art can be a mirror- I think you are seeing what is on your mind the most. Every time I see an old standard opera, I can interpret it a different way. A friend of mine wrote a book about Carmen and feminism. Don Giovanni and Eugene Onegin could be looked at as cautionary tales for men attempting to spin plates. Le nozze di Figaro could be interpreted as a feminisist opera, and I have seen it interpreted that wa…

We were never married. We realized that we weren't all that compatible for marriage through counseling. Its better that we discovered it early. Counseling gave us both tools to make our future relationships healthier. That's why I say to get in counseling the second you think you might need it. Most people wait too long. We broke up for many reasons- but a femcentric counselor wasn't one of them.

Sure. My ex and I (we are still very good friends, partially due to the therapy) had started to become more like parent/child (12 year age difference). Our therapist broke down for us which behaviors were parental for him and what behaviors were childish for me. It was actually very enlightening. Traditionally raised submissive blue pill lady here. I think people take this phrase too literally. I let my partner feel like he's leading, and this makes him feel and behave more masculinely. This works for both of us. Meanwhile, I am making tons of decisions and plans on my own. I present him with them and he has the final say and I am fine with that. However, by the time those decisions come to him, he usually goes with what I think. It's the "man is the head of the household, woman is the n…

Conversation skills are more about asking the other person interesting questions, and actively listening. Some questions are better than others."What do you think about (whatever current event is interesting- not the Kardashians)" "Where did you grow up, and what was it like there?" "What's your favorite city to visit, and why?" Are better than "what do you do?" People love to talk about themselves, but don't want to talk about work, in general. Actually listen to their responses, and you can fi…

My best friend of 15 years is FTM transgendered. He started taking T a year and a half ago. He's essentially the same person I always knew, just speaks lower and has facial hair. Personality wise, he's the same. Only difference is now he dates much more masculine women than before. I'm not challenging that gender is a social construct, I just personally haven't seen that much of a change in my friend since taking the T. He's always seemed pretty male, now his physical body just matches his mind.

For 12 years I lived in the Castro in San Francisco, the heart of the gay universe. I'd say that there are just as many bear/bear twink/twink butch/butch femme/femme switch hitter combinations. The gay community is quite diverse and gender roles are not as strictly defined, in general.

Even if only 20% of your dates are quality, I'm of the opinion that online dating can be the most efficient way to go. Sign up for all of them, and make the first date a quick drink or coffee. Don't waste your time with dinner. Message lots of women with messages that show you read the woman's profile. It's a numbers game, and online dating makes it quicker and less awkward. If women show up much heavier than you like, only write to those with whatever body type you are into. As a woman, I'd rec…

I think "happy wife, happy life" is an interesting expression and could be excellent advice interpreted a different way. I've never heard this expression in real life- but if a man were to use it as advice on the kind of woman to ltr, they would be quite satisfied: partner with a happy woman and you will have a happy life. Lots of people are generally unhappy, but if you find a person that is generally happy and content- snap that person up!

If you are looking for an ltr, be the best version of yourself. My partner and I met on OKC and I was immediately intrigued by his profile, which was incredibly honest. There were things that a lot of women would run away from in it, but I was drawn to. I loved that he described himself as "slightly neurotic" and "disorganized" as well as his good qualities because it showed a wonderful sense of self awareness. I'm really liberal and I have some very close friends that are trans. It really is a strong feeling that you are in the wrong body. It's not a flippant decision. The transmen and women I know all knew at an early age that something was wrong and they were in the wrong body. I'm blue, I'm gen x and I'm liberal, but men and women are different.

I want to talk about Chad. Chad with his cerulean eyes and superior Aryan features. Chad and his tanned skin and white, pure, Caucasian teeth. Those glowing white, perfectly straight teeth bared in a perpetual shit eating grin... And the muscles, slightly veiny and bulging- always bulging as he flashes you an amused smirk. It's an interesting topic. I understand there are limits, but I got sent home from school because my shorts were above the knee and missed out on a day of education because of the boys being distracted. I think America likes to be offended. When things are "forbidden" they are titillating, and making nudity "forbidden" makes purchasing nudity a lucrative reality. ( more dollars supporting the porn industry). Our puritanical roots are definitely a factor as well. In addition, Americans associate nudity with sex. Other countries can be naked and wrinkled and fat and hang out at the communal sauna and not have any association that nudity=sex. Basically, it's a countrywide kink. I am high right now…

I believe love involves a series of choices, and sacrifices. Last night, my man came home in a foul mood, saying he had one of the worst days in his life. I was watching a documentary and memorizing music. I made the choice to turn the tv off, put my music away and turn off my phone. I poured him a glass of wine, and listened to him talk it out for as long as he needed to. He was angry, frustrated, and despairing, and part of me just wanted to go to bed. However, I made the choice to do what I f…

Excuse me from piping in here, but I'd like to know why TRP doesn't discuss the negative aspects of their biology and how to overcome them. Wouldn't you want to know more about yourselves and the aspects of masculine nature? This is an honest question and I mean no offense. Not red pill, but wanted to say that I loved when men put preferences on dating sites when I was single. It helps weed people out. If you want to date the coveted "hot women" you have to compete. If you don't want to compete, date 5's or 6's or go MGtow and see protitutes. 18-23 women that are 8's don't represent women. At least you have the opportunity to have a personality.

I used to be a nanny for a prominent tech family with two little girls. These girls adored technology and were learning to code around age 8. I think a love and facility with technology has more to do with privilege than gender. Wealthy schools and families will have better access to technology. The thing I have a problem with is the idea that a Red Pill Man should deal with "LMR" by lying and telling the girl how sex positive he is. Then, when she sleeps with him after he uses this underhanded technique, he thinks of her as a slut. In my mind, that is pretty messed up. If you're just having sex and not dating, why does anybody else even need to know how old she is? If it comes up, remind them that technically you are an ephebophile and move on. There are plenty of men that like women over 25, older women don't want to date men hung up on teenagers. You do you. Just so you know, people have given me a hard time in the past for having a partner 12 years older. It is going to happen, so just get to the point where you don't care or just don't bring it up.

Most humans are not classical musicians. However, I would modestly propose that many women have a passion in their lives aside from tending to other people's needs and seducing our friend Chad. Most women would like the opportunity to explore this passion. In addition, it's incredibly unwise to not have some sort of skill to support oneself, if need be. Men can be fickle.

Red pill is not about male leadership. It's about sexual strategy. I have a problem with the Red Pill, not masculinity. Not leadership. I have a problem with disrespect and manipulation. I didn't come up with the red pill. Why would it be sadistic to mention what my son believed in?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 10:08 PM

Actually, I'm referring to the original fable that red pill is promoting: that women regret not getting married when their SMV is highest. I'm actually keeping the conversation on track. Now. About that data.

I work in the performing arts, so charismatic people are a dime a dozen to me. I can see right through that crap. I like masculine men that have a moral compass and are genuine. Stereotypical "alphas" seem very immature to me. However, I think the alpha/beta idea theory is ridiculously overdone and incredibly simplistic.

Red Pill keeps regurgitating this fictional story over and over. They've told this story so many times that they now believe it to be true. I am 40, my friends are all the same ages. We shudder at the thought of going back to our 20's. We are all happier now. The economic reality is that most women will need to work outside the home and that the dollar doesn't go as far as it used to. If women are in general less happy, it's probably because they are getting stuck doing all the housework in addi…

/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 03:48 AM

I'd tell them that, and to ignore the filthy language. I'd encourage them to really understand the ideas before they judge. I just think knowledge is power. Maybe they would benefit from the red pill. Maybe they wouldn't. I'd let them decide.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 02:37 AM

Why would introducing them to the red pill be a cock block? Is there something on TRP that you think would be upsetting to a young girl and her parents?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 02:00 AM

Oh, I'd tell her as well. I'd tell all the girls I could.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 01:57 AM

I would find out which girls he is being "successful" with and call their parents. I'd direct them to TRP, then they can read and decide if they want their daughters seeing my son.

I know a couple of incels- one being my brother. They play wow and watch porn all night long and sleep all day. I see these things as legitimate hinderances. A lot of incels seem to suffer from depression and that is why I mention staying positive. Dwelling on negative thoughts is going to worsen the situation. It's really freaking hard to be sweet, feminine and submissive in a capitalist society. You will absolutely get taken advantage of by people. You will be surrounded by people clamoring for success and they will use you if they can. You will get stuck babysitting a million kids in addition to yours. You will do untold thankless chores. Nobody will notice unless they do not get done. Kids are exhausting and isolating and messy. Being selfless in an incrediby selfish culture is really, really hard.

Saying "hi" in general is not street harassment but it's definitely possible to say "hi" in a harassing way (ie staring at a woman's breasts, licking one's lips and saying 'hiiiiiiii' in a groaning sort of way). I would like to bring up the point that it is not the same thing if an unattractive woman were to harass a man on the street. There wouldn't be the threat of the woman being able to overpower the man (in general.) I think a more accurate thought experiment for men would be to imagine a v…

One final bit of unsolicited advice, then I will butt out: get a humble mentor or collaborator closer to home. All high level musicians have teachers, coaches, agents that give feedback on how to improve. Find a local musician who you look up to and take lessons. Lessons are for all levels. There is always better sense of rhythm, pitch accuracy, etc that can be improved upon. You can find a lot of great teachers also in your nearby college or conservatory. Also, classical technique can be applie…

If you can deal with teaching kids beginning guitar, there is good money to be had. Kids are more reliable as students because their parents make them go. Teaching for a music store can work well. For a career in music, you really need to be somewhere urban especially in the beginning. I agree, though- ageism abounds in the performing arts, even in classical music.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/15 11:14 PM

As one musician to another- don't underestimate private instruction as a career choice. 80-120$ an hour is pretty standard where I live. You can do that until you are a ripe old age, and it's flexible.

For me, the non- pragmatic approach worked wonderfully and I am very happy with my relationships and career at 40. I was raised traditionally, but music education was very highly valued in my Russian family. I got a master's degree in music (classical) and make a respectable wage doing what I love. I met the man of my dreams at 35. Despite my upbringing, marriage and children aren't important to me. Being the eldest girl in a traditional, large family was enough motherhood for me. Could someone recommend an MRA leader that is not extreme and is legitimately working towards updating alimony/custody laws, equal resources for victims of domestic violence, etc- all while remaining respectful of women's rights (specifically reproductive rights? If you are talking about men between the ages of 18-28, sure maybe 15-20%. In non urban areas, maybe 25% is accurate. I would be willing to bet it's a very similar percentage of women. Many men do not see nerdy, antisocial, overweight women as women. In fact, they are invisible. My message to incels is this: stay positive and above all else get off of the computer, turn off the tv, and stop watching porn.

I was referring to the OP's assertion made in the first sentence regarding ladylike behavior, femininity and submissiveness. I like older men, and my LTRs have all been 8-12 years older than me. I have a huge circle of friends and colleages, and I am one of the only one I know that has a partner more than 5 years older. The vast majority of couples I know are closer in age, and this is true statistically as well. I just got back from my partner's 30th reunion. Out of 200 people, I was by far the youngest one there. Hollywood is not by any means the norm, and I'm sorry but none of you are Leonardo diCaprio.

Red Pill is discussing sexual strategy and their ideas about "the Nature of Women." Anecdotes are frequently used to prove a point about interactions with women. There are plenty of anecdotes that conflict with what TRP concludes. These anecdotes are downvoted or deleted. Finally, the median age of the average redditor is 22. That, in my opinion is very young to come to a conclusion about half of the human population.

I'd like to remind them that the majority of people do not think that way, and do not share their views and experiences. That they are, for the most part, very young and their perspectives reflect that.

Haha, she's just messing with ya. The women a lot of terpers hook up with probably are more likely to be that sort. Like attracting like, sex based hookups, bar/nightclub hookups etc.

It's rude, but women find it particularly offensive because they are judged almost entirely by their physical appearance. It's a double whammy insult- not only are you reminding them of something they likely already know and feel shitty about- you are reminding them that a body is all they are to most of society. It doesn't matter a woman's IQ, academic achievements, kindness, humor- any accomplishment whatsoever.. The only thing that matters is are they fuckable, and it sucks for them when they…

Becoming ineligible for a Quality Man is the only consequence I've heard TRP state, other than std's. If I am incorrect, please let me know. I am not hearing any concrete consequences of being a slut.

I'm not convinced that the consequences are all that predictable. In fact, this appears to me to be an example of the Just World fallacy. I know attractive sluts that married very well and had kids. I know attractive prudes that married, got cheated on, couldn't have kids, slaved at a shitty job....Believing a slut is doomed to misery is a little bit like a nerd fantacizing that the captain of the football team will end up sweeping the floor of his comic book shop. I say this as a prude.

I'd be more concerned with a history of cheating, or a lack of any relationship experience. Unless the number is outrageously high, I don't think it matters to many men. That being said, I am a bit of a prude myself.

I would argue that, while this concept makes rational sense- the reality is that sluttery will end in a variety of different outcomes which cannot be predicted.

the theory makes sense in a just and rational world. However, I subscribe to the chaos theory of sluttery. The results are random.

Meaning the metaphorical "High Quality Man" who is conservative, judgmental and controlling? I don't think sluts are really missing out on anything. Most people don't talk about n-counts, in my experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/15 09:37 PM

I would argue that a man concerned about partner count does not a high quality man make. Furthermore, the trp definition of "slut" is so widely varied, it is meaningless.

Mediocrity is rather subjective. Many bluepill men would rather have an ltr with an intelligent, good natured "5" than a quick succession of flings with vapid "8's." This goes back to my theory that Redpillers are more concerned with status and how they are regarded by society. Who cares if someone else views you as being mediocre if you are happy? There are many ways of being high achieving that don't have anything to do with sex or physical status.

Personally, I enjoy challenging people who unquestioningly follow ideologies- especially when the followers claim their point of view is the "truth." Red Pillers claim to be "unplugged" yet they appear to me to simply be replugged into something else. In addition, I know a red pill man in real life and I have personally seen the negative fallout caused by his choices. I have the idealistic hope that I might case someone to stop and think about the possible consequences of physiological manipulat…

Bluepillers and Redpillers seem to have different priorities. On the whole, the Redpill mindset is more preoccupied with status and competition. A BluePill man is more likely to want a relationship with a cool girlfriend who is fun to spend time with. A Redpill man seems more likely to want to bang as many "hot" women as possible to increase social standing. I'm not saying that is the case with all Redpill men, but creating goals that are less likely to be attainable will set one up for disappoi…

I see your point, but at the same time wouldn't you say that the subject is important to the discussion? That "one area" is very pertinent to many discussions here at the purple pill. It's not insignificant to the conversation.

Hark ye, my Faire Gentlewymn- there shall be an uprising. We will lift up our skirts and sing out with shrill voices: We want untarnished men. Men who have maintained some modicum of dignity. Men who have interests and are good conversationalists. Men who are authentic, trustworthy and upstanding. Men who do not spit nor swear nor swagger. Men who are delightful to the ear and eye beyond their main purpose, which is sex.

I think it is fair to say that the Red Pill advises men "Don't pay attention to what women say, pay attention to what they do." Is that fair? Red pill men do not value what women say as much as they value what men say. With this in mind, wouldn't the implication be that a logical argument would not be paid attention to if it was posed by a woman? Isn't it possible that terpers would be more likely to consider an argument more logical when presented by a man? It's not so much as the red pill thin…

Legions of Women are awakening to the whorish nature of males. We are sickened by their tarnished members, and animalistic rutting. For the discerning lady, only an unstained penis will satisfy her natural urges. The male predilection for sluttery will cause an inability to pair bond, will make cheating inevitable, and will soon bring about the decline of civilization as we know it. Luckily, there are droves of undirtied dick available for Women's selection. Clearly, the Western Male is tainted …

How on earth can a woman debate with someone who believes that all women lie? Or that we shouldn't listen to what women say? I can understand a male/male red pill/blue pill debate, but I would imagine it would be pretty pointless to debate here as a woman.

In my opinion, it depends on the woman. In general, the women who are actively looking to get married and have children tend to become more demanding. The women who do not want these things seem to become more easy going and less neurotic than their younger counterparts.

From my point of view, it depends on the woman. Some women mellow out and get more realistic, some women get more neurotic and demanding. A lot of it has to do with whether or not the woman wants marriage and kids or not. There are plenty that don't, these are generally the women that are more easy going.

I think there is a need for people in general to develop their social skills. Personally, I believe the Internet has created a wave of changes in the way we relate with each other. I'm not convinced that feminism has been the reason why dating has changed so much.

Whether it is anger, hate or pain- it's clear that you are going through some serious shit. However, it's a bit of an assumption that non Red Pillers haven't seen a boy growing into a man. Have you ever seen a girl's heart break for the first time? That is not pretty, either.
