There is something that I have been thinking for a long time WHAT IF The US government decided to pass a law that 50% of the fortune 500 companies had to have female CEOs and that the government would decide which ones. It doesn't change the fact that the custodial parent is not obligated by law to provide for the child while the non custodial parent is. Has anyone seen the video where there are bunch of (I would guess) 20 year olds who have to rate the others on intelligence, they all picked this one military guy, there is one dark haired woman who I think has either a masters or PHD and most rated her the most intelligent and everyone picked the military guy as least intelligent. Exactly: Here is the weird thing (In a lot of areas), CS does not 'belong' to the child and under case law actually belongs to the custodial parent. This can be seen in back child support after the child has become an adult, when that Back CS is paid , it is paid to the mother and not the child. If CS truly belonged to the child, it would be paid to the child.

From what I understand, safe havens have VASTLY different procedures if they know if was a man that dropped off a child vs a woman. For a man, they contact local hospitals to try and find the mother and use a lot of other resources including police reports. for a woman, they put in ad in the local paper with almost no details that a father would actually use to know he had a child.

Children are expensive and IF a father gets 50% custody as opposed to the 20% he would have gotten it is going to cost him A LOT more money than what he would pay in CS UNLESS he is rich and perhaps there is the rub.
