Fuck, this hits close home. I'm always wondering if I'm doing enough for my sons as well. Only have them half time though, so it's difficult and I miss them. But I try to be as good a dad as I can be and they are good kids. They wanted to go somewhere far for a holiday. They probably were in a well lit, smoke free University lecture hall. Actually not. In Germany, smoking was allowed in the lecture halls till the late 90s. This was also pretty much the heyday of the Frankfurt school. You would even get offered a cigarette when visiting a professor.
