Hey guys, I just wanted to share with you the possibilities when you go your own way. I managed an affordable vacation to Guam for 2 weeks, because I found a cheap Airbnb and flight. I cooked my own food and kept expenses to a minimum, while having fun at the beach snorkeling with the aquatic life.

If you were to do this same trip paying for someone else, you would probably have to double your budget at least. You would have to coordinate and compromise every day, maybe argue about where to eat. I slept on an airport bench after a late flight and saved more money, but it didn’t bother me. No car rental. I slept in when I wanted, stayed out as long as the sun wouldn’t fry me. Met some neat locals.

I would not have been able to afford this trip while paying for someone else. The quiet and solitude this vacation gave me, along with the natural beauty of Guam’s beaches, helped me recharge. Go your own way and you will be able to do this.
