Yeah, there’s a rebound effect with a lot of AD’s. Very high suicide rate on people who just quit. You have to taper off gradually.

The root of your problem is right there. What does “victory” mean? If MIL thinks she scored a point off you, did she? Nope. When you feel like she scored a point, then she actually scored a point. You perceived her remark as disrespect. Why does her respect matter to you? You are your own judge.
